PC's 2nd reply references the wrong string when talking to Nessie and choosing the "This place is a fortress..." reply, then the "Who are you..." line.

Not present in an unmodded game; this must be a mod's error in your setup. The intended string there is #18576, which is "So who are the new faces here now?" in English. The string you're seeing is BG2EE's #18576, so I think I see what happened. Some mod tweaked Nessie's dialogue, using a # reference for that unchanged string. You installed this on EET, which changes the underlying string numbers for all BGEE content, and that broke it.

EDIT: It's probably A7's Convenient Enhanced Edition NPCs. Will raise a separate issue there.
