EET Strange dialogue glitch.

Hey all.  So, in my current EET playthrough I chose not to spoke to Minsc or Edwin as soon as I met them in Nashkel.  The second (maybe third?) time I passed by our favorite ranger, he force greeted me with his BG2 intro dialogue and then became non-responsive.  I stepped down to Edwin and he *also* started the conversation with his BG2 intro, and Neera responded to him with her usual BG2 responses.

I created a new character, went straight to Nashkel with Imoen, Jaheira and Khalid, and initiated dialogue with both of them and everything was normal.  So, at the very least my install seems okay.

Does anyone know if there is a way to reset the NPCs?  A global or something so that the game doesn't count either of them as having been spoken to, yet?

I didn't see any global variable with that name.  I added it and set it to 0, to see if it would have any effect.  The edited save still has a non-responsive Minsc and Edwin begins a conversation with his BG2 dialogue.  Ah well.

No, it was not correct what I said above. The greetings dialogues are not merged in EET. The BG1 NPCs have their BG1 one and the BGII cre files have the BGII one. Meaning - somehow, the cre files were changed for you, or somehow the dialogue was switched, but for all NPCs? 🤨 This is very very weird. Would you post the content of your weidu.log inside a spoiler here?

I came across this problem when cheating myself a high level main character to start with. Turns out it happens whenever the player character is level 2 or above when loading an area with the npc for the first time. This affects minsc as well as any other bg2 character such as jaheira, though it's most obvious with minsc since reaching level 2 before reaching nashkel is pretty common.

The issue is that certain party members .cre files get changed based on player level. This is defined in NPCLEVEL.2DA. Nuking the table seemed to fix it though I imagine that might have further consequences down the road in bg2 and such.

Could you change-log that file with WeiDU

weidu --log nul --change-log npclevel.2da

The reason I'm asking this is because... this file should have been nuked to begin with. EET_End does that and I can't reproduce this issue. For this to happen, a mod rebuilding that table needs to be installed after EET_End and I'm not aware of such.

Regardless, nuking the table won't cause issues down the road.

Came up blank except "Mods affecting NPCLEVEL.2DA:"

My personal install might be a little wonky since I had to run it through WINE (the native linux version didn't play nice with mods even inside a case insensitive directory). It seemed to work fine otherwise though.
