Lemernis Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 This is hardly a big deal, but some of the original NPC portraits in Baldur's Gate are not very good. Xzar has an over-the-top furious expression and tattoed face. Faldorn looks more like a screeching witch (with filed teeth? yikes). Coran just plain looks goofy. And a better match could have been found for Quayle's (extremely well voice acted) soundset, eg, perhaps the fantasy/medieval equivalent of a computer nerd. I realize this is ultimately up to me to find by searching various CRPG sites that have custom BG portraits for download. But if any of you have ever found a good replacement portrait for NPCs, and have the means to link them, I'd be interesting in seeing what you found. If you can share, please do. Tnx
Domi Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 If you go here http://www.gibberlings3.net/portraits/ There are a couple of portrait packs for BG1 NPCs. I also have a few alternatives that I have not put up yet for Coran (among them the wonderful one by XVIII which keeps slipping through the cracks).
Kulyok Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 And a better match could have been found for Quayle's (extremely well voice acted) soundset, Blasphemy!
Lemernis Posted October 22, 2005 Author Posted October 22, 2005 lol! You like that portrait for him? That elderly Asian fellow looks far too kind. Quayle is an obnoxious little twerp (and the funniest character in the game, I like him).
Andyr Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Quayle is awesome. Do you hear buzzards? I hear buzzards.
Domi Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I adore Quayle too, and it's all your fault, Mr. Andyrson.
