  1. Hi Subtledoctor

Good to see you playing the game - not just modding.

Some questions came up reading about your progress:

    1) You are playing secret of Bonehill (SoBH) Is it Roxannes version? And how bug free/ridden is it (on a scale from 1-10,  where 10 is the worst)?. It was broken beyond repair in the pre EE era….,

    2) You have “the manual of war” from Klatu tweaks installed. Have you found the manual and does it work?

ps. I know SoBH and the manual of war are unbalanced to the point of broken….

  2. I really like the idea. Hope to play the mod someday.

    Regarding the loot and gear:

Powerplayers who love their OP gear tend to stash it somewhere safe before starting the mod content… They would come back afterwards and reequip/sell what wasn’t an upgrade. And be quite happy about it.

The rest of the players can do without the gear. Just another curveball thrown.

A neat little disclaimer in the readme files would be sufficient.

  3. Sorry for the off topic posts, but the iOS version of IWD really need some help…. @Luke and Subtledoctor are the most adept on the iOS modding scene, so I am crossing my fingers for succes, since the  update for the iOS ports have no ETA and will likely take some time.

On topic: like Subtledoctor said, the plot for IWD makes sense - something the BG2 “plot” never did. BG2 is the best game in the world, but the plot is only partially makes sense and only with the help from a few newer mods (thank you for trying to fix it).

But if you prefer to play the games with a full package of the Old mega mods, some timetravelling will not break immersion or feel out of place… So I wouldn’t call IWD in EET a bad idea - compaired to TS or RoT…. With all the great new mods for IWD (yes, they are there), at least we could introduce a great plot and some well executed mods into the mayhem of a fully packaged EET setup.

  4. Hi Jastey

Will you at some point make a SoD megamod, so we dont forget any of your fine work?

and an idea, while we are at it. You remember the dusty chicken you can lower into a well at Boareskyr Bridge for a nifty xp bonus? You must likely do..

but do you know what happens if you lower Melicamp the chicken? Nothing actully. Wouldn’t it be funny if you could lower something besides a dusty chicken in a well? Or is it just me

  5. Dont know if the following has already been dealt with in 2.6 (iOS users are still om 2.5) or if it already mentioned, but

    1) in SoD the game didnt stack all ac modifiers correctly. For instance the ring of the crusade gave an ac modifier against demons (iirc) and the ring of purity gave an ac modifier against evil. They didnt stack, which I find odd, and most players consider it a bug. I dont know if it was a SoD only problem, but I suspect it is present in all games,

    2) not so much a bug, but it would be neat if ac bonuses would show on the character sheat. The ac bonusses for piercing, slashing and crushing are shown on your sheat, but not other types (evil, demons, dragons and such). It is not important, but would nice if it could be handled. I suspect the answer may be that nothing is simple in the IE - and I can live with that..

    3) and while I am at the outrageous wishes… how about showing the effects of luck and chant …

  6. I get a small bug/inconsistency as well.

The tweak that allows HP rolls up to level 20 doesn’t add the con modifier - just the hit die for the roll it self. Don’t know it is as intended - and have only tested it with “max hp at level up” turned on.

  7. I am considering an iPad mini as well - or an iPad Air.

Have been playing the game on iPhones and have just recently tried them out on an iPad; and fortunately the graphics don’t look dated, which was my concern.

I had shelved the idea about an iPad mini until I saw your post - back to the considerations I guess.

I haven’t received an answer on my post on the forum. I think Julius will try his very best to see if he can get an answer; but they are not overly fond of giving an answer on a topic of which they are not a 100% certain…. It may be gamers gate or something else (the Wizards of the coast). But I have not seen many companies less reluctant to hint or speculate. That’s how it is for now - I will keep you updated if anything happens.

  8. We can agree that the IWD situation is super annoying - and I actually did put up an “agree” on one of your post on that topic back in the days (when the posts existed that is).

I have asked about the time frame a couple of times, but they sure are tight lipped…

The file handling hooks will be a major issue if not fixed. Luke and I will probably be one of the first asked to do the Beta testing, and I have vowed to file “lack of access to the files” as a bug - and I believe Luke will do the same.

My hope is that the devs will look towards NWN for a solution. The NWN iOS version has more or less free access to the files, so they can be modded in the old fashion manor (no jailbreak). So I am expecting the same treatment for the IE engine games - and will consider less manageable solutions as buggy.

  9. Hi Subtledoctor

I have tried posting the question on the Beamdog Forum:

    https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/comment/1178192/#Comment_1178192

The official answer so far on the iOS version topic has been: “we are working on the Android versions, and will work on the iOS versions after that - and can’t answer you questions before then”.

The current pecking order seems to be

    1) cpu/Mac (in Beta?)

    2) Android (Beta)

    3) iOS (not worked on)

    4) Consoles

ps. You might check the link to see if I got your question right.
