  1. I know the issue with excessive power of Dispell magic has been up for quite a while, maybe its time to implement the change as mandatory? Just asking
  2. I dunno, from my last playthrough on SRR+IRR+SCS i been using Spell Thrust very often, especially in BG1 and SoD, the spell proved to be very efficient and came in handy in many battles and i am satisfied how it performs now. Regarding Contingencies. I am not sure how it works from the coding/programming point of view but could it be that when contingency happening all 3 spells are "attempted" to be cast (thought they are cast simulteniously they are still separated from each other in terms of "actually casted spells") and the caster could be subject to Deafness or something and 2 of 3 spells fail to be casted.
  3. @subtledoctor i am not arguing that mods should not exist or changes should not be made, i was jsut arguing not to "balance" everything too much. If there is an obvious and noted by many people flaw in gameplay omitted or missed by designers - mod is a great way to fix it, hands down.
  4. I see what you mean by that but please mind that "spreading power" and "game rewarding your build choices" have contradictory points. The more you make everything even or "spreaded" the less game is inclined to reward you for you choices. Again, BG is a game of big choices and radical turns of events, there is no need in spreading power. Regarding 3e stats. As i have mentioned i have very little experience dealing with real DnD gameplay and 3e especially so i am pretty sure you know better about that. If people think, based on their experience, that implementing that is for good - i am for it as well
  5. My 2 cents. I dont think BG should be a "perfecly balanced game" (whatever it means) in regard to battle abilities. It also should not strive to be one. Its not like some Blizzard game (like Overwatch) when they try to "perfectly balance" every hero and every aspect of the game - with BG its just pointless and imho confronts the whole DnD concept. There are things in the game that should be busted (like some epic relic items) and there are creatures that are godlike are legendary (like dragons and protagonist : insert your charname here ). In real DnD (though i am not a savant or somthing) people pick bards not cuz they are "busted", in terms of battle potential they are usualy inferior to any mage. No, people pick bards cuz they are "busted" in another way: they can recount adventure stories, sing you a soothing madrigal song or just be a good pal who telling funny jokes. With BG you just cant balance everything out. Of course, the other side of the coin is there will be always mundane or "super non-busted" things like cursed items and this aspect of BG is also super cool.
  6. It could probably be easier to do it via EEKeeper by creating a saved file and adding to it every item from SoD one by one. I also noticed some funny discrepancies in SoD version of items: for instance belt that protects from slash attacks +3 (Golden Girdle Or something like that) and the same item i assume patched by IR giving +4 AC against slash.
  7. @Bartimaeus oh i do that exact thing. I just did not know what exactly "repository" meant in that context Thx for explanation though.
  8. I feel dumb. What is repository version I probably start doing this with my next run, but it will surely take time and i dont promise anything
  9. Please make sure potion of speed and Slow is fixed On my minimum reloads run its important Also, what is scroll-adding patch? I just checked my old save from BG 1and i had Ring of Protection +2 equipped on my main charachter. Probably from Durlag's Tower or from somewhere in Baldur's Gate city, cant remember exactly though. I think for the Claws you can safely make at least 20% malus to hit points and -5 death save. Also wanted to ask you. I have IR armor component revision installed. While playing my previous run, during Siege of Dragonspear section i came across different unique armors that added certain additional AC for specific damage types. It occured to me though that the description of those unique armors is absolutely irrelevant since, it looks like, armor AC bonuses to damage types behave according to general table of bonuses. For instnace a unique armor saying that it acts as hide armor and in AC bonuses "Armor Class: 4 (6 vs. piercing and missile)" but in reality it behaves as -1 bonus to crushing , + 1 malus to missile and +1 malus to piercing, as this table says The are numerous inconsistencies between discription and actual armor effects in the game. I am not sure if it was meant to be this way, thats why i am asking I guess noone took a look at those since Siege was released past several years after that table was composed, but i am curios if anythign could be done about that.
  10. @Bartimaeus and @NdranC thx for explanation @Bartimaeus I wanted to ask you, if you planning to introduce any big changes in IRR or SRR any time soon? I am going to start a new run in couple of days and if there is a planned patch coming out soon from you i might as well wait a week or so. Also i been thinking on Claws of Kazgaroth lately and concur with @NdranC that its a bit overpowered. Could it be nerfed a bit in terms of hit points malus or any other way?
  11. Ok thats what i wanted to know Thx. I just thought that somehow it could affect since when unpacking and overwriting some files first IRR and then SRR there was at least one same file that was commonly overwritten twice (both for IRR and SRR). Maybe i forgot something. Anyway thx for clarification.
  12. Early my installation order was: unpack IR then unpack IRR (with overwtiring some files) and then istall it. After that i did the same with SR and SRR. Now i was just a bit confused that it should be: first unpack IR then unpack IRR (with overwtiring some files), then unpack SR, then unpack SRR (with overwtiring some files) and only after all unpacking is done installing IRR and then SRR. I assume now its somehow important that i can not install IR right after i unpack it but before i unpack SR. Or my usual installation order still works?
  13. I am truly sorry but i still cant get what you mean by "Main component" Just to make it plain, the instal order: IR->IRR->SR->SRR->SCS?
  14. Oh wow, did not know that about the Horn. Quite a revamp. I guess i am importing Balduran helmet next time Sorry for being obtuse, what does main component of IR/SR include? (regarding installation order). Is it just IR or IR+IRR?
  15. Helm of Balduran got quite a nerf in IR (IRR) imho. I like to import Horn of Kazgaroth, personally Btw i am about to start a new run with latest versions of SRR and IRR, just wanted to know if potion of speed interaction with slow has been fixed. thank you.
  16. Great thx. A bit off topic maybe, but i have seen there was a discussion in a thread dedicated to Dispel magic revision. Is there a plan to implement some sort of changes to Dispel is SRR any time soon? (not in the nearest future probably but in foreseeable future? )
  17. ok gotcha, please mention somewhere in this topic (or in patch notes) if the installation order changes. On topic, Potion of speed still does not negate slow (though discription says it should), just a reminder
  18. So the correct order for installation now is IR->IRR->SR-SRR->SCS?
  19. You sure Haste dispells Slow? Yesterday i had a fight when my character was slowed and then he imbibed potion of haste (forgot the name) and slow did not go away (both icons of Haste and Slow remained on the character) and the character movement still was clearly slowed. I am not sure about spell Haste but i assume spell and potion should act the same way.
