  1. Picked up Tenya before going by the Temple of Umberlee. So Tenya has a doppelganger, or twin, who wallops a trio of novices outside the Temple!
  2. Drake's quest in BG went smoothly. Aura's ninjas have attacked me 3 or 4 times. I've obtained Finch's books and set up her Nashkel library. But Rasaad's attackers in the docks are a no-show. The Rasaad_Plot Global is 1, and I believe the prereq conversations have taken place, nothing happens when I try to talk to Rasaad. I've looked through BG1200.bcs, but I don't see anything that looks relevant.
  3. At some point after neither the rabbit nor pseudo-dragon items in my inventory was responsive, I tried again to summon a familiar, and got a new one. This time I wasn't given the option to choose--I got a rabbit. It's been working fine since. Had an issue with Flara at the Sorcerous Sundries; her quest wouldn't complete. I had to use the console to summon two missing NPC's - GV#MARI and GV#KRAK. Then everything proceeded properly. I've hit my first repeated hard crash. From Coran's Extended Friendship mod, the "A couple of people have wished that I put myself into the lady's shoes...it's amusing, really." No matter which response I choose at "It happened entirely by accident. "Helg and I-". According to NI, the next line should be "You might have heard about the carnivals, when the whole cities go mad with vigor, mask themselves and, more importantly, dress up sumptuously. While for the commons any bright rag and papier-m�ch� will do, the nobles order frocks with yards of expensive cloth, set with jewels, lace and exotic feathers." But the game hangs rather than launching that response. If you chose the 6th option as your 2nd response--"What's so amusing about it?" you can shut down the exchange before it reaches the crash.
  4. Even though Littlun wasn't in the party when I was attacked by crazy dryads and defended myself, she's still mortally offended. As soon as she rejoins the group, she bails. The trigger is "Global("GV#LITTDryad","GLOBAL",1). I've tried deleting that global, to no avail. How do I check to see what's setting that?

Day 99 Cloakwook, Cloakwood Mines Cleared: Aldeth Sashenstar, Spiders in the Cloakwood, Fungal Friendship, Cloakwood Lovers, Shadows in Cloakwood, Flooding the Cloakwood Mine, Coran the Wyvern Hunter, Circles of Interest, Apex Predator, the Quest for Perwell New: Dead or Deadbeat? And, with clearing the Cloakwood Mines, my reputation finally reached 16! Sure does take a while when you cut the growth rate by 75%! Only dropped XP by 25% - as an FMT, I expected to be starving for it, esp. since I'm not sure how much the Scales of Balance tables slow it down later in the game---but I'm still racking it up at a good pace. And, I forget who suggested the mod that drastically limits gold, but that's made a difference too. My usual style of play is to go straight into DSotSC content after the Cloakwood. But in this case, I think I will take advantage of access to Baldur's Gate. There's a bunch of NPC's with quests there; I can cycle through them and have some idea which ones I want to keep for the rest of BG once I'm not just clearing their content. @Graion Dilach's fix worked like a charm--Davaeorn dropped his key, plus a bag with 2 items in it.   6. Littlun's encounter with her supposedly-dead father is a blast! Completely out of nowhere, if I'd not kept her in the party I'd have had no idea. Follow-up is in Baldur's Gate city. Unfortunately, she bails on me when the crazy dryad attacks and I'm forced to kill it. My company's not worth keeping if I kill the 'innocent dryad' who attacked me, there being no option in the dialogue tree to prevent her from attacking me. A reload fixed, but it looks like I'm heading back to swap Littlun for Coran.
  7. More familiar trouble. Now when I release the pseudo-dragon from my inventory, it does not appear in world. And, I can CreateCreature("FAMPSD") and talk to/interact with them, but they are not responsive to 'move' commands, they just stay where they spawned. Is there a variable I can change that sets my familiar to the rabbit? Then it might work properly, without the alignment dichotomy.
  8. It's not your mod. For the first time, I've create a party and started the Black Pits. I do have the fight with the tasloi, and then I'm in the same place with Baeloth and the djinn, and the game hangs at the cutscene. So it's my installation, pretty sure.
  9. Okay, there was no teleport to an arena. Fade from black opens on me picking myself up off the ground as Baeloth is saying, essentially, "wake up you sluggards." People, maybe vendors, are standing around watching.
  10. Okay! With those changes, the mod installed just fine. Went and found Baeloth at the FAI, selected the dialogue choices to go with him, woke up in the Black Pits, he delivered his spiel and told his djinn to take care of us...and the cutscene hangs.
  11. OK, found the link in the thread dedicated, downloaded. File doesn't include a setup, so I took one and named it "Setup-BP_IN_BG". I've got the BP_IN_BG-0.6 folder in my 00783 folder with all the other mods, on my E drive. That folder does include the bp_in_bg.tp2 file, along with .gitattributes, .gitignore, and data, lang, and lib folders. When I ran it, I got: ** ERROR ** [SETUP-BP_IN_BG.TP2] not found. Make sure that you have unpacked the archive correctly and that you are not trying to run this file from inside an archive.
  12. At 74k xp, the FAI basement shouldn't be hard. But I'm avoiding Firewine until I get the mace of disruption from DSotSC. Ulcaster I'm also saving; between the greater werewolf, the wraith spiders with level drain, the vampiric wolf lords, the necromancer from Recorder.... I didn't get recruited, so I didn't get to meet/kill Tazok. Maybe that made a difference in the numbers; that and the BGEESpawn/BGSpawn may have generated more critters to respond to the alarms. I don't see anything specific in MIH that would affect the camp, I think Butchery is just BG2 content, and I left out "The Horde" at @Graion Dilach's recommendation, even though I've used it before and got as far as SoD in that run without trouble. I did meet Baeloth, and did send him off to the FAI rather than allowing him to join, so it may work. I'm a little wary of loading anything once I've started a run, but I can give this a shot. I'm juggling a ton of NPCs and I don't think Baeloth adds any quests, just banter, so I'm not worried about losing him in BG or SoD. But he's still present in SoD, just no longer joinable? If he's missing, we're probably losing the gnome shaman.

Day 76 Spider Wood, Larswood, Peldvale, Bandit Camp, Sharp Teeth Plain, Adoy's Enclave, Ormyrr's Peak, Mountain Cemetery Cleared: Fahrington's Scroll, the Inactive Golem, Magreb and Rilsa, Disrespected Flowers, Ormyrr's Peak, Doggy Life Doggy Death, The Missing Persons of Beregost, Mutamin the Basilisk Tamer Companions: As planned, I swapped Helga, Minsc and Dynaheir for Gavin, Kivan and Neera. Gavin had two quests; Keldath mentioned having already done a third, so I'm guessing it was something in content I cleared before picking him up. And Neera's request to visit Adoy popped in a reasonable time. Rilsa's body couldn't be interacted with; I had to set a global and add the ring to my inventory to clear the quest. Damn, that bandit camp is something, with SCS and on hardcore difficulty! Had Thalantyr make me a new robe and a powerful belt. Thorengrim improved a bow. The Ioun Stone of Darklings (L#GNOIO) can't be placed in a container. Nor the Invisiblity Purge scroll (SCRL6K). Still have Kivan, but I've swapped Neera and Gavin for the return of Jaheira and Khalid, and am en route to the Cloakwood! XP: 57,913/class (7/7/7) Body Count: 1,835 (64%) Gold: 7,369

Breagar's quests never popped, but I'll want him to join me again before I attack the Iron Throne, so maybe the Silver Dwarf will appear shortly after I pick him back up. To my knowledge, the Ogres in Bear River are Helga's only quest. I may go ahead and swap her for Tenya, Gavin, or Dave; that is, unless I'm ready to head for the Cloakwood and to pick Jaheira back up. I don't know if Littlun has a quest after the Gnoll Fortress, but I'm not quite ready to cut them loose. We've got Dynaheir's journal back. Does Winnski come gunning for her if I'm not romancing her? If so, is it just a timer, or gated by chapter/zone? I will pick Drake back up in Chapter 5, but I'm probably done with Garrick. I think I'm ready to pick up Kivan and then hit the Spider Woods/Larswood/Peldvale on my way to the Bandit Camp. Saving the coastal zones with the sirines, the basilisk plains, Ulcaster and Gullykin/Firewine for later.   16. If I *talk* to the pseudo-dragon and ask him to get in my pack, I have a pseudo-dragon in my pack. If my familiar flees to my pack of his own accord, if badly injured for instance, then I have a rabbit in my pack.
  17. Day 29 Secret of Bone Hill, Part 1 The mod wasn't too hard to navigate without quests in the log (as opposed to showing up as journal entries). But then I've played it before, not to mention the old P&P modules its based on. The enemy randomizer does some cool stuff. When a Kuo-Toan Wizard shows up in the abandoned Bone Hill castle, you just know there's gotta be a story there! In BH1003, there's a container with an invisible, undroppable item. Click on it and it will be stuck in your inventory and appears to prevent you putting anything else in your inventory. Telvar (one of the 'big bads', in BH1003) was a pushover; it doesn't look like SCS modified him. Can't say it was horrible to meet a mage who was a pushover for once! BELT06 is now the Girdle of Beatification. I think Tipun's IWD causes this. I suspect when/if I get to Ribald's, he'll have one of these for sale.   19. I don't *know* that Drake or Tenya are working in this install, but I didn't have problems with them last time. Fingers crossed. On the other hand, there's another mod installed in EE before EET - a halfling in the Nashkel mines - who was missing. So that doesn't bode well. Anyhow, if there are any files you'd like me to change-log, to get data on the familiar thing, let me know. As to sorcerers, I had just let Flara go, and I mostly rely on quicksaves, So I'm not seeing a backup with her. But I'll go pick her or Valerie up once I've returned from Bone Hill and check that slot in the savegame.
  20. @Graion Dilach @jmerry Thanks for the familiar details. So, it sounds like the issue is my choice of a pseudo-dragon instead of a rabbit (default choice for true neutral alignment). In prior games, I think I've summoned my familiar, put it my bag, and never used/thought about it again. In this case, the familiar can collect loot for you, sort your scrolls for you, you only get the benefits of having it (extra hp etc) while it's out of its pack, it can fight, you can tell it to hop in your bag if it gets hurt (you can also tell it to get back out once the fight' over, but that's not working for me, probably again because of the alignment mismatch). So, when I release the rabbit, nothing appears, because that doesn't tell the pseudo-dragon to appear. When I try to summon a new familiar (the icon stays in my abilities toolbar), I can't, because my current familiar still exists. So, any time it goes into my bag, I'll have to use the console command to get it back. A minor inconvenience not game-breaking.
  21. Moidre and Flara are both part of the Glam Pack NPC's, along with Vynd, Dave, and someone else. I've never played with any of them before; I gather Vynd is the most popular and was also released as a stand-alone, but these two are both interesting and well-written.

Flara--I've met Sigurd at Feldposts and know Flara really is a dragon. They'll meet me at Sorcerous Sundries, so I may be able to let Flara go until some time in Chapter 5. Xan--Up to LT16. 21 is the last before Candlekeep, so it won't be long before his spot is open. But I haven't done his quest yet. Breagar--His quests haven't started yet. Branwen---having killed Tranzig, and not romancing her, I think I can let her go whenever I'm ready to pick up a new cleric. Hmm. Drake's got "kill Bassilus'" and then nothing until Baldur's Gate; Helga I think just has the Ogres near the Gnoll Fortress; I don't know what Gavin or Finch have in the way of quests, and I don't think Tiax or Quayle have anything I want to do; Viconia I don't think has much in BG1 if you're not romancing her, Yeslick won't be available until the Cloakwood Mine. I need to leave Dave 'til I'm done with the Kozah idol? I suppose I could go pick up Tenya? I feel like I'm forgetting someone. Brandock: Firebead will help, but we need a potion of regeneration and octopus ink. Isra wouldn't join us after we helped her with Prism/Greywolf, because we'd already cleared the mines. She doesn't, I don't think, have any BG1 quests though, so between Moidre, Flara and Valerie *needing* to be recruited beforehand, and wanting to take Jaheira and Khalid for continuity reasons, I just couldn't squeeze her in. Sirene I don't think has any quests either, but if I want a paladin before I'm ready to pick up Ajantis, she's available. Gameplay: Can't put scalps in bag of holding. I didn't have the button to choose a new spell for Flara when she leveled; I did have a button that would have let me discard one or more of her spells, choosing that spell option in a text window. So I EEKeepered her Melf's Minute Meteors at 6th level. When Breagar leveled up, he lost the armor and helmet I EEKeepered in for him. Still no idea why he can't wear armor but at least I've identified a workaround (and have less incentive to keep him longer than it takes his quests to pop. But doesn't he have to be in the party at the end of BG1 to appear in SoD, and at the end of SoD to appear in BG2? It's been a while since I've resurrected Haiass. It takes a lot of management to keep him alive, not many hp and poor AC, and unlike Grey there's not really a way to mitigate. Plus he frequently prevents CHARNAME from being able to move.   23. Thanks for the tips! I'll keep them in mind for future reinstalls. I suppose I really should read the readmes more thoroughly I wound up giving her the additional spells she should have gotten via EEKeeper, and I'm guessing that's why the button isn't there now. But she should hit 6th level before long, and I'll see what happens then. Thanks, again! Having an issue with my pseudo-dragon familiar; when he goes into my bag, there's a rabbit familiar in my inventory. When I release the rabbit, no familiar appears. I looked it up, the item for the pseudodragon is "FAMPSD_, and when I add that to my inventory via console it's there and it returns to the world normally.
  24. I didn't see an option to adjust it, and my knowledge to modify things 'under the hood' is rather limited. Case in point, Breagar. I just recruited him, and he only had 1k XP, no catch-up bump. That, I could fix. But for some reason he can't wear any armor. I'm guessing there's something amiss with his kit, but I'm not sure where to look, or how to fix it. Also, I was expecting my sorcerer to have a 'choose spells' menu at leveling up, but no, just the "level up' button (and, once, choosing a proficiency. Now Flara is 5th level but still only has her first 3 spells. Am I a complete noob, or what
