  1. Sure enough, we were heading for the Red Wizard enclave when someone gave us a tip about a witness to Moira's murder. I've followed that thread to a Captain Alwesk who is supposed to be at the garrison at the docks. But there's no one there (AR0332) but a "guard captain" (who isn't Alwesk, and just tells us to get out), a barracks guard, and an Amnian soldier. Is this the wrong time of day, wrong place, something else? I checked and Global ("WAMoirQ") is set to 4.
  2. I did find the PID option re: the book. The monks offered to take the gem and money before they'd made me the offer--looks like the game checks to see if I have the ingredients but doesn't check that the offer's been made yet. Not a big deal, but just thought I'd mention. As for Oisig, once I ventured deeper into the District and witnessed Gaal's speech, Oisig turned up, and he did talk with Brandock about the funeral arrangements. Jaheria and I have killed Dermin Courtierdale and his pals. Her questline has progressed as quickly and smoothly as I've ever seen it. Anomen's gotten his knighthood. I think there's a mod that expands his plotline? I'm really enjoying the Kivan expansion. Though it's not really compatible with "Imoen Forever." While Jaheira was absent and we'd been summoned to visit Anomen's father, Isra's sister was attacked. I know she has another quest, but I'm not ready to take it on yet, so Isra's hanging out with the Jysstevs for now. And Driz'zt is stashed in my old apartments in the Palace in Baldur's Gate. If I've stuck anywhere else somewhere they haven't had a chance to complain about being kicked, I've already forgotten.... And I to get Wilson before closing out Neera's quests, I stashed Neera in Trademeet, filled her spot with Rasaad, left Rasaad at the Temple to have space for Wilson, took Wilson to the hideout, then picked up Neera again. Next step is Neera's quest; by that time, I think I'll have finished Jaheira and Anomen's content as well. So the question will be whether to pick up Viconia, and get Dorn and Hexxat out of the way, or recruit Aerie (and retrieve Minsc, and rescue Haer'Dalis).
  3. He was indeed! And *that* is what that spellbook is for! We talked to Tolgerias, but I'm not ready to take on that quest. We went by the Temple of Helm, but there was no one to whom I could talk about funeral arrangements. And then by the Temple of Oghma, but there was no one we could talk to about restoring his book. And while I think about it, there's no one to whom to present my letter from the Dukes of Baldur's Gate, right? The quest to close the portal is not yet implemented? Jaheira's quest is rolling along. Already I've had the confrontation with Galvarey, and both Revianne and Dermin have come to pay a visit. Adrian's quest should be 'popping any time, I think. And I've picked up Anomen, so I can start roling through his content.
  4. There are a number of "Bridges' Block" quests that are scavenger hunts, so probably no progress until I'm exploring vanilla areas more broadly. Took Renfeld to the Harpers and dealt with Xzar. Freed Skie's soul from the Soultaker. Went to Arlax and rescued Regis, then to the Umar Hills, where I dodged all the vanilla questgivers (not the woman who wanted her son in Trollford found, though), met the drow who told me to find Bruenor in Westchar. Ambushed by a large pack of werewolves, wolfweres, winter wolves, etc, camped and then ambushed by Ertof Dand and his merry band. On to Westchar, where I did rescue Bruenor, sent him to the Copper Coronet, then teleported Driz'zt to enjoy a vacation until I'm ready to leave for Brynnlaw (or wait until I'm ready to make contact with Brother Martin and then TP him back). Really liking Kivan's BG2 content. Adrian, it seems, doesn't romance elves. Turns out you need to rest at an inn after escaping Irenicus' dungeon, so a quick trip to the Seven Vales kick-started his banters. I hoped I'd see Brandock at the Temple of Oghma. Alas, no
  5. Found it. This time it didn't cause a crash, just no response. BRH#ADR State 51: I take it you only recently started practicing magic? Response 69: (no text) State 52: You lack the...theoretical bent I'd have expected of a lifelong practitioner. Response 72: (no text [BIMOEN2.dlg) state 494 (broken reference, state entry not exist in bimoen2.dlg) Response 70: (no text [BIMOEN2.dlg) state 493 (broken reference, state entry not exist in bimoen2.dlg) Response 71: (no text [BIMOEN2.dlg) state 492 (broken reference, state entry not exist in bimoen2.dlg)
  6. Exiting the "Bridges' Block," someone named "Andrei" says, "Alas, we must part ways. Until next time, then." I have the options to tell them to wait here, to rejoin, or go to the Copper Coronet. I've chosen the last. Just mentioning this because I'm pretty sure this is not working as intended I may have to let Adrian go early. Twice he's started a conversation, something about "I take it you've only recently started studying magic," with an immediate crash to desktop. Wasn't able to spot the line in his dialogue file, waiting for it to recur so I can get the exact quote and search for the string. Party presently consists of Jaheira, Adrian, Driz'zt, Kivan, and Imoen, plus Grey. I sent Wulfgar to the Copper Coronet, which didn't please Driz'zt, but his genie hasn't come up so I'm not ready to go off on his tangents. Instead, Ribald sent me to the Southern Edge and I think I've completed that content, and paid for the license for Grey, declining for now Tolgerias' offer. What a surprise to see Dreppin and his cow again.
  7. Thanks. Totally missed that note to the other person experiencing this. In any event, I moved myself to C#AFH3, and things proceeded as they should have. Except, the first time I didn't kick everyone out of my group, so at one point there were two Imoens etc. And then when we got to Chateau Irenicus, the cutscene never ended so Imoen could let me out. Trying again, this time booting everyone, did the trick, though I experienced the same "I'm looking at the crowd around the Sorcerous Sundries while Irenicus is torturing me" bit @Trouveur80 reported. T The Sewage Golem was spamming "spell ineffective" about once per second. Picked up Wulfgar and Breagar. Sent Yoshimo away. Dropped Breagar for Adrian, then Minsc for Driz'zt. I still had one RoT cutscene, but the others were blocked by the Klatu component. I thought NPC management in BG1 got challenging...there are SOOO many in BG2, and I haven't played most of them, so I don't know if/where their quests and content are. Well, that's what makes the game replayable...:) Anyhow. The post-Chateau check-in: XP 704,982 / class (12/11/12) Body Count: 7,234 Gold: 2,625 Party: Me, Jaheira, Wulfgar, Driz'zt, Adrian, Kivan, Grey, Haiass. So many choices, not sure where to go first!
  8. Endless cutscene in Chateau Irenicus - Imoen never comes to talk to me and start us off.
  9. Moving myself to C#AFH3 moved things forward.
  10. Belt's other dialogue chain requires global ("C#AjFH_jail_visitors","c#afh3",14). so I am assuming that there's a missing command to move me to C#afh3.are, where I'm to have my conversation with the Hooded Man and perhaps others.
  11. Swapping party members around doesn't appear to have changed anything. (I didn't actually have the option to recruit Jaheira, Khalid, Minsc, Dynaheir, or anyone else I tried, through dialogue--I had to use CTRL-Q) So now Jaheira says she'll be watching me instead of watching out for me, Khalid reiterates that Gorion would be proud and volunteers to help with the new quests, and Imoen says her piece. And then we're back to square 1.
  12. After I agree to go to Athkatla with the letter for the Cowled Wizards, and promising Duke Silvershield that I'll try to find Skie's murder and the soultaker dagger, Belt says "We will use the rest of the day to make preparations for your departure. "You will neither have to leave without equipment nor without support." Then Imoen says, "You just rest here, Celebrindal, okay? I'll go and have a look around who of our old friends might still be around. This is important things we have to do!" Then Drake says his farewells, and Emily talks about missing painting, and then...that's it. There are no exits from the area, the 4 dukes are the only non-party members present and none of them have anything to say to me. If the dialogue was supposed to signify Imoen (or Drake) leaving the party, they didn't do so. So I'm at a complete standstill, with nowhere to go, nothing to do, no one to talk to, in C#AFH2.
  13. ** Beginning of Chapter 10 - Charname goes Directly to Officer's Tent ** Stonehand: You gutless worm! What give you the right to tell me what to do with my men? de Lancie: You mean your 50 men? Why, my 350 men, of course. Stonehand: A tenth of Daggerford's population, de Lancie! One in ten! that's what I'VE brought to this effort! de Lancie: And it is appreciated. But Baldur's Gate and especially Waterdeep have provided the majority of troops here. I'll not risk them needlessly. Celebrindal: Can I be of assistance here? de Lancie: And who, pray tell, are you? Nederlok: General Haither Stonehand, Torsin Cedric de Lancie, allow me to present the hero of Baldur's Gate. de Lancie: Who released some super magic surge at Boareskyr Bridge because she is a child of Bhaal, apparently! Why does the hero of Baldur's Gate have to be a Bhaalchild self! Nederlok: We were all shocked when we eard about the incident at the bridge. I have to admit that. But let's keep in mind that Celebrindal has proven her worth in the fight against Sarevok, let us not forget that. Stonehand: Oh, aye? So what was that business on Boareskyr Bridge about? You know how many of our people worship Lathander? Tempus? And you burn the dead Lord of Bloody Murder Bhaal's symbol into the ground where he died? Great, that's SURE to boost morale.... de Lancie: Haither, please, show a LITTLE decorum.... de Lancie: Now that you are here, we need to stop Caelar - now more than ever. de Lancie: Let us gather what we now, the crusade's main purpose is to free souls from Avernus. de Lancie: And for this, she will do no less than open a portal and march her crusade into Avernus. de Lancie: The followers believe to be protected by "the gods" - Caelar herself proclaiming to be blessed not by one got, but the whole pantheon. We already know this is a scam. Nederlok: This might be information of no great relevance to you, but we assure you that it strengthened our soldiers' morale to know that we are not going against a second Sarevok here. Stonehand: Maybe if she were, troop's morale wouldn't be so shaken by the Bhaal signs appearing around your city's hero. Nederlok: General Stonehand - please. de Lancie: This might be a clue as to why Caelar has such an interest in getting her hands onto you - alive. de Lancie: Is there anything you want to add to our status of information regarding Caelar's plans? me: Regarding the hooded man I mentioned earlier - he visited me more than once now. de Lancie: Well, I surely hope this intruder won't get in our way. de Lancie: Do you have anything else you want to share? me: I have no more information to share right now. de Lancie: God. Off with you, then. ** end of conversation ** If I go directly to Phossey, de Lancie follows, if I take my time he's already there. His conversation when clicked it the same as I quoted above. Note: Where I said, "I have no more information to share right now," that dialogue option occurred twice. The response above is if I select the first instance. If I select the second instance, de Lancie says, "Now let us talk about how you can be of use." And then, "the reinforcements you've brought are a welcome and much needed asset, Celebrindal. YOUR presence is problematic. Many are...disturbed...by tales of Boareskyr Bridge. It would be best if you were away from this camp for a time." And continues from there as outlined in my previous post. Savegame sent. Hope this is helpful. Any suggestions for progressing, where I've gotten stuck with "Another Fine Hell"? If there are any exits that are supposed to be present--back out to the city, or upstairs to my apartments - they're not working / not present in area C#AFH2.
  14. Okay...death of Skie, return to Baldur's Gate...hailed as a hero, accused of murder.... In private with the Dukes, I am asked to go to Athkatla, talk to the Incantatrices, find a way to seal the Dragonspear Portal forever, and to find the Soultaker Dagger.... And there's no exits from the room, and none of the Dukes are responsive to clicks.... Not sure how to proceed from here.
  15. I did talk to the officers in the camp before I left at the beginning of Chapter 10. I'm not sure what I did, that most of what I transcribed above didn't happen there/then, or why de Lancie was near Phossey but not going through his expected dialogue. This is why I thought the plot might have been restructured, when I encountered this bug. In testing this morning, I first left the basement without talking to Daeros. In this case, I could not replicate the above--the option to disclose the presence of the gate and utility of my blood did not come up. Having talked to and freed Daeros, it did. So that might be one place to check.
  16. Went back to a recent save to take a closer look. After unmasking Hephernaan, fleeing from the basement, and returning to camp, a Waterdhavian guard tells me to find the officers at the Dead Man's Pass parley. Phossey is present, but says we have to wait for the 3rd participant. So, off I go to the parlay, in progress on arrival. Just in case, spoiler tag:
  17. Day 485 Completed: Edwin's Tale of Woe, the Creeping Darkness, the Fear, the Irregulars, Tender of the Dead, the Bridgefort Wardstone, Ghost Dragon Guardian, Troll Breakout, the Trial, Understanding the Crusade, the Call of the Wild Mage, M'kiin Grubdubbler, Entering Dragonspear Castle, On the Fence, Glint Gardnersonson, Morning Report, the Uncommon Cold, Memories of Battles Past, Helvdar's Lucky Charm, Den of Thieves, Anniversary Gift, Troop Train, the Traitor, the Wounded Zealot, Foehammer's Blessing, the Good Druids, the Myconid Tower, Murs and the Brigands, the Lost, Accessing the Warrens, the Dungeon Slug, the Wychlaran and the Berserker, Moving Crates, Strunk's Elementals, the Slime Sickness, the Cabal, Find Daeros, Gurgle and Floss, Blind Albino Wyrmlings, the Siege of Dragonspear, Skie's Gone Missing, the Problem with Pritchard, Mizhena's Amulet, Lilah Open/New: My Missed Fortune, Skie's Grand Plan, Disturbing Implications, Zaviak's Vision Quest, Letter for Recorder, Ancient Menhirs, Drow Runaways If you give Neera all the items she needs, her quest completes, and if you bring her into the party later, there is no option to find the entrance to the Fugue Plane to deal with the lingering Adoy. If you give Khalid all the items he needs, his quest completes, but I don't think Jaheira gets her present. Sirene finally had a quest/encounter of her own! We were attacked by an enemy of hers when we entered the Dead Man's Pass. I'm guessing there won't be a follow-up until SoA. Drake mentioned he'd asked the Order for help. We later ran into a battle between knights and orogs between zones; later, we could talk to his brother at the coalition camp, and one of the knights gave us access to a new store with some nice gear. Kale has a quest in the Dead Man's Pass. Recorder allegedly has a quest in Chapter 10, but it never triggered for me. My guess is I should have been able to give her Cindy's letter, and not being able to do so caused it to not launch. Emily faked me out. She kept talking about some friend/acquaintance she was traveling with, and I expected to meet them. Instead, she had an interaction with Caelar that made it worth having brought her to that encounter. No idea of Aura has content in SoD, save that she offers me some troll-killing arrows. Met all of Glint's relatives, helped find Safana's traitor, Minsc and Dynaheir got to meet their countrymen, Edwin got his revenge, M'kiin got her gear and we stood up for her when she needed it, Corwin saw her ex, and Viconia got to meet an old acquaintance. Given the drow the response "with an attitude like that, good luck finding who you're looking for without my help" still put the quest to find them in my inventory. With a subsequent dialogue leading to conflict, and a chat with one of their targets in the Ogre village (the other wasn't there), it looks like it will be impossible to close "Drow Runaways." I thought I messed something up, when De Lancie didn't give me the option to get the keg of Bwoosh! on my first visit to the coalition camp. Turns out it was simply rescheduled, and the ask comes after the parley. Except after the parley, I've already been through the Underground River, confronted Hephernaan in the basement, and had the whistle blown on me during my withdrawal. And, when I get back to camp, it's under attack, and Phossey Dugdeep is nowhere to be found. So this looks more like a bug than a rearranging. So proceeding to Castle Dragonspear, Phossy's now trying to knock a hole down in the wall. We take out the archers who have the sappers pinned down....and, looks like this is where the fun begins.... 19. Day 465 Completed: Recruitment Drive, the War at Home, Bar Fight, Meeting of the Minds, Days of Wine and Stealing, Shakedown in Shantytown, Refuge for the Refugees, All the Way to the Bank, Rabble Rousers, the Dry Crier, Corpse Disposal, the Sorcerous Sundries Caper, Thief among the Refugees, Halfling Treasures, Isabella and Ikros, the Vanished, the Dwarves of Dumathoin, Scout the South Way Crossing, Beetles and Spider, the Missing Patrol, Sarevok's Secret, the Eyeless Priestess, Friend Like no Other, the Elder Mage Open/New: My Missed Fortune, Skie's Grand Plan, Disturbing Implications, Zaviak's Vision Quest, Letter for Recorder, Ancient Menhirs, the Irregulars Brandock was rumored to be hanging around the Keep, but I couldn't find him before the Expedition left Baldur's Gate. Safana, Minsc and Dynaheir came, despite my having asked them to "wait here" at one point or another while recruiting others; Verr'Sza, on the other hand, disappeared. NPC's in Camp: Safana, Minsc, Dynaheir, Edwin, Viconia, Helga, Vienxay, Kale, Emily, Recorder, Drake, Sirene, Aura, Jaheira, Voghlin, Breagar, Baeloth, M'Khiin, Corwin, Glint, Rasaad. Ancient Menhirs was buggy and could not be completed. The Blood Red Ioun Stone can not be placed in a Bag of Holding. Nor the spider silk and spider leg. We've reached Bridgefort, and secured a way into the Crusader Camp, but rather than breach either, we've gone back to camp and to check in. And I'm going to let Brage take a rest, while I feel Edwin will be useful in dealing with the Crusader Camp. It might be a kindness to bring Jaheira, so she can reunite with her husband...but I'm not prepared to part with any of my other companions just now. It remains to be seen what use Vienxay will make of her new Shadow Tome. Helga's quest is done; I'll need Recorder, Kale, and Emily in Chapter 10, at least briefly. I don't know if, or where, Drake, Sirene, or Aura have quests/content. Pretty sure Breagar, again, will have to be in the party at SoD's end to transition to BG2, but I don't think he has any quests. Though maybe I should have had him in the party in the dwarven mine? Enjoying the impact "Road to Discovery" is having so far. Looking forward to seeing the changes Boarskyr Bridge, Another Fine Hell etc wreak! XP: 601,148 / class (12/11/12) Body Count: 6,723 Gold: 16,353
  20. Oh, and I've got another unkillable PLYWOLF.CRE in zone BD7230. Guessing GAENEMYRANDO component 25, EET Set Encounter Randomizer, with SoD creatures (makes BG1 slightly tougher) includes it in error in its dataset of substituteable creatures.
  21. Still having trouble opening baldur.gam files. But Charname does have too many spells; while his spell selection tab has 46 slots (10 each for levels 1 to 3, 8 each for levels 4 and 5), when I click the icon to cast a spell, if I scroll through, after my 5th level spells, I appear to have 15 each of a large # of spells.
  22. My antivirus program is flagging the Hide NI DOS v1.03. I am running a 64 bit version of the most recent Java, but NI is still not willing to open baldur.gam files.
  23. That was it! I took a beating killing the dragon, and figured I'd rest instead of burning potions and spells. Topping off everyone's health prior to trying to rest did the trick. Weirdly, there was text after resting telling me that Grey is fatigued!
  24. Okay, it's not Drake's interaction. I went back to a savegame from before killing the dragon, and attempted to rest. Banter came and went just fine. It's not Vienxay's quest, which should be popping up an interaction (since we already traded the emerald for the book); I booted her from the group but we still crashed. It's not the location, as it happens in both BD7200 and BD7220.
  25. Game is crashing on attempting to rest, after killing the green dragon. If I leave the cave, I get Drake's cooking pre-sleep banter, then crash. If I go deeper into the cave, I fight a bunch of bugbears, attempt to rest, and crash. Could this be caused by something in my inventory, that I got from the dragon?
