  1. Well, should you know, the two games use a different .exe files to start the game... and editing the BG2 one in the EE will result in non existing .exe trying to be changed ... which would lead to an error if it was done in nonsensical way... but as it is, as with the ToBEx, and the fact that the ToBEx is "included into the EE games", it's not (done in a nonsensical way). Besides, the BGMain.exe hacks that some of the mods are filled with are done in the exact same way as any other file edits. You won't ever see they "are there" unless you know what to look out for. Though most todays mods use the ToBEx'es edits to the game libraries so the file itself is not actually edited that dramatically. But the BGT-weidu for example used(in the past) to edit the BGMain.exe .. It doesn't any more cause the ToBEx is used instead, which allows the start points XP to be select able from a externalized (.2da) file. But the Widescreen mod HAS to edit the BGMain.exe... but that of course is unneeded in EE games cause they use a different thing to archive the same thing... with expansions like the ingame zoom etc.
  2. I didn't exactly say that... I said that they(well, the Spell Revision mod) modified the use of the saves and to be more spread around. At least I think I did. But then again I am the insane one. Well it's not coded into the game, but the thought is that to change the save names to be Fortitude/Reflex/Will ... the fact that the SR overwrites the spells and their descriptions would work well in conjunction of renaming the saves to be that of the different editions. As editing the spell descriptions alone does nothing, and then editing the games value names also has no real benefit without their use in the spells themselves.
  3. My advice would be to rethink the removal of the SCS patch... cause you are just sponsoring one type of install this way. What if people want to use other mods than the Spell Revision, and still use the SCS ? As this make the SCS REQUIRE the SR.
  4. Well if you can't read and make an accurate notice that when you start a wrong .exe and start a different game, the worldmap won't be the one you choose into the different game. But that would require reading a post in the past. Or understanding of it's content.
  5. That's not a good idea. Not everyone will remove the original BG1 directory. And editing the folder name is a bad idea on the principle also that one should go about uninstalling the game from the machine via the Windows "Programs and Features" or whatever the control panels sub folder is called on your local windows version(mine being Windows 10, Finnish Edition)... not deleting the folder as that leaves the game still registered in the machines memory. Making you unable to play or install the ToB on to the computer without restoring a working Windows Registry. The SoA allows multiple installs, but the ToB doesn't. @Gladius: Go, install the old ToB to a folder and then delete the folder, let's see how you'll then uninstall the game. Or reinstall it without using another machine. Yeah, not that easy. BECAUSE the windows install shield&register entry. The way to fix that is to restore the game folder from the trash-bin and uninstall it correctly. Ouh yeah, you think the EET won't get a few new versions even when it's out of RC's, you are dreaming man.
  6. Matters a little when you install the ModMerger tool first. It's still not called SoD. Get your definitions correct.
  7. Erhm, the SoD containing BGEE or BGEE containing SoD, does it actually matter 1 f&/% ? And remember, for you to have "everything", the SoD needs to have all the map file, and everything else, for example the BGEE start. ... Which actually makes it BGEE, not SoD, it might contain that in the default installs folder name, but it's just slightly edited BGEE version, so it's not actually SoD, but BGEE. Apple and Linux can shovel their determinations to their reknown ends all they want, it still doesn't make it true.
  8. Basically you run the stratagems.bat... and that does the things. But if you want go dead into this, you rename the weidu.exe as "setup-stratagems.exe" and use that... but that might not be the most recommended thing to do.
  9. Yeah, but there isn't much random spawns in BG2 that it would be beneficial to have such as that in BG2.. and the SCS has the spawn the worst(max leveled monsters), and you can use both.
  10. Yeah, but... you know you can just extract the files from the .bif's if you really want to do that. To get the prototype files... And we are in BGGO forum, so editing it's code/files won't be a problem if we really want to do that, for example so that the edits are done before the biffing, ones the conceptual/prototype work is OK. Of course the file size limit will them come to bites us, but that can be over come with manual file edits/overwrites in the mods archives... if I understood this mods workings correctly.
  11. Or one could just run a .bat file with this in it, while having a "weidu.exe" in the folder, it can actually be any of the setup-modname.exe's, just alter the following to reflect that: weidu.exe --update-allNot trolling.
  12. I am talking about the original games spell in BG2, and the penalty sets the score to red, which means it can be easily restored, if you just go and look at it.
  13. Yes, and the only thing that the -1 Con penalty to the char whose Imp dies can very well be restored with a lesser or normal version of the (restoration)spell.
  14. Erhm, no. Or... The bears go red if you don't have a ranger or druid close to them while standing near them, if they are blue(neutral) originally. The hostile animals are hostile for reasons, like for example they would like to kill you cause they were summoned for that.. it's usually a story related matter... for example the woods between Nashkel and BG have bears in them, that's their "story", the entire thing. .. so it's actually consistent already, you just have to think to find the story. And also different bears have different aggression factors... like for example the Polar bears are always red cause they know they are hunted, and as they would like to eat your char... while the black bears prefer to hang out in the woods eating what ever they eat, things that are not entirely featured in the games environments, but would make sense to be there in them. Or do you lack the imagination to for that ? Good luck finding a game suited to make sense in that case ... cause it will be hard to find ANY. Nope, it depends on what species the bear is and what scripts they are running. The dread wolves... well have you found the witch/shaman/druid/whatever that made all the dread wolves capable to regen ? Did you ask him/her to also enhance the rest ? While s/he was hanged for thou war crimes.
  15. This was reported already, else where... Demi screwed up the spell in the latest v4 b13 release.
  16. Way too small to attach files for this, as you could just post the whole thing, as well as:
  17. Well, I would say no. It is likely there because removing them isn't very easy... but I it is doable, if demi agrees with me. As the summon is just a nother 9th level summon, so it shouldn't have HLAs. Just like the gated demons should not, nor any other non story related encounter should not have HLA capable threads in their sleeves. Yes, the summoned/gated/etc creature level limit should be 15, not 25 like in SR. Why ? Cause the summons should be only about 1/3rd's of the summoners potential over all strength.
  18. Am I crazy or does the score matter at all in representing how much carry weight the char can hall in this table ? Cause if it did, it would look like:10 ... 70 11 ... 80 12 ... 90 13 ... 100 14 ... 110 15 ... 120Or how ever you wish to set it, it would never be 70 -> 70 -> 90 -> 90 ...
  19. Why are you laughing ? Asking because, have you ever not been able to move and then got your head sliced off cause the invisible wall was there... cause of unexpected interaction between things. I bet you have, and now you have to the avoid the thing all the time, while fixing it would have been so easy, just roll +10 more advanced game engine to the current ones place. Same thing here, the Spell Pack has probably done a lot of this stuff already, but there are a lot of counters that could happen. The Cone of Cold is a good "counter" among other effects of it to the (Red) Flame Shield. Of course making and maintaining consistency in a magic system like this will be hard thing to do, so it's not like you have to do it necessarily.
  20. What does the strmodex.2da look like ? Hoping it looks boring: 2DA V1.0 0 TO_HIT DAMAGE BEND_BARS_LIFT_GATES WEIGHT_ALLOWANCE 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 2 .. 50 0 0 0 100 51 0 1 0 102 ... 100 0 1 0 200
  21. In the old engine, there's also other horizontal lines... including in the menu GUI, if you adjust computers graphical settings "incorrectly". If for example you have your GPU's control set to 3D quality instead of performance, in the NVidia control panel. ...
  22. Well, considering the "seasoned adventurers" have less than 5000xp, I really doubt that they are all that seasoned. Considering the enemies that you'll face to get to the + books are fairly more decent, I don't see the PC getting to them before that amount of XP. Unless they risk their lives unduly. Coran... the hippy ranger, got nothing on an actual ranger. Right. It's not like the game can handle it's balance by itself. Or is it that you can't just add things if there's things already in balance ? So your only way to improve is to reduce and then add ? That's ok, but doing so with the expense of others, is kinda out of date. Cause the player can't be expected to do everything you do in the same order, there needs to be various bonuses on different locations and thus also multiple ways to get more powerful, not just 1. And people usually forget all about that. Ever started the game with a char that has 10 in every stat and try to win the game ? I am betting you would welcome the bonuses the game throws at you, at some point.
  23. .. and they got punished for looking like that and got tougher hides(+1 con) all seems legit... except that what if the on looker is a <insert a random non bipedal race>, then the race perspective you have doesn't apply, and the orc might be the fanciest of them all. Well, or not, cause the player doesn't ever take a half orc in BGT-weidu/EET game if they choose to not do so. And so there won't be a 20 somethings to fly by. Ouh, but of course one could also choose the one kit that gives +1 at level 1, level 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50. No manuals or cheat hammers needed, just pure will.
