Senka: You are right, Keldorn doesn't say anything if the stealing should take place in the temple of Thalos.
-
To Keldorn's reaction (which I studied, as an example): In case of party with lower rep, that should steal from temple of Lathander, Keldorn leaves the party. I think he can be recruited later again, though.
For party with higher rep, that is supposed to steal in temple of Thalos, Keldorn states his disagreement but stays.
Oh, and to the thief quests for Ajantis: It's mostly the stealing he doesn't accept. As soon as the fist quest is finished, he can be recriuted again.

jastey, would you consider introducing something like the "I tried talking to her to see if she would let me buy it off of her, and I went to the ring maker in the Promenade to see if he could make me a replica" ideas?
That's good ideas, I never thought of extending the thief quests this way, just about his reaction to it. The other thing he won't tolerate is siding with Bodhi, apart from that I can't recall any other quest. Have a look at the "Ajantis_reactions.txt" for spoilers about his reactions to certain things in the game.
Evaine Dian put my thoughts about the discussed topic very nicely. I think he is too much into duty and watchfulness to get her pregnant in the circumstances.
If, of course, you say that they should stay chastely in this case, then our opinions differ totally.
(I, too, think he chose the worst moment for it - yet, when else should he have done it?)

Senka: Thank you for playing the mod. Sorry it didn't work for you.
darlarosa: Ajantis attacks the PC if the rep goes below 8. I wouldn't know why the rep would fall, though, as there is no rep decrease in the mod, just a reaction to the actual rep in the game.
AkashaCatBat: No, there is no way other than to send him away during the thief quest. He can be taken back into the group later again, though.

Senka:
Erenal can be found in the Government District, the house in the North, AR1007.
Yes, there will be a LT about the ring. You should be able to tell him your choice earlier via PID, though ("I would like to talk to you").
-
Hm, I already muted him for many LTs, but it seems he still loves that phrase. If it is indeed too loud, the sounds would need to be tweaked.
-
Thank you for your comments and feed back!
Thank you Evaine Dian for this very lovely review. It is very comforting to have the impression the mod gets played (and is liked).
Ajantis uses the BG1 sounds. They are implemented via ogg -> wav transformation, so I'd assume the quality is not as good as in BG1, although I'd have the impression it is at least acceptable. I would gladly include voiced lines, but I'll wait until the ToB part before I'll ask around.
EDIT: Senka, do you mean it's too loud?
-
Kaeloree and Leomar: Thank you for the explanations. Subcomponents has the advantage that the log shows which choices were made. I will think about it.
This thread is fine for comments and bug reports. Thank you for your feed back so far.
Concerning more journal entries: I thought I added the most important information.. but it should be no problem to add some more.
Yeah, the invisible rune - as soon as I found out that an item with no picture works in the game it had to go in there.
-
Thank you for the feedback and heads up. What exactly do you mean with automated install?
-
Thank you! The mod is now available as an open beta from the downloads page: http://www.rosenranken.org/index.php?actio...on=mods;cat=soa
-
Got it, thank you. I wanted to write above that it doesn't necessarily mean that you will be able to post, but maybe it will work. Anyway thank you for your interest!
-
Sorry for that. Registering seems a bit picky and I don't know why (I am not an admin). I could register you by hand if you PM me your email address, though. That doesn't mean you'll be able to post, as I have learned from someone else, but at least you could browse and dl the beta.
-
There is always room for another tester! Thank you for your interest. The only problem is, that unless you register at Rosenranken.org, I have no real way of passing the beta to you.
-
Thank you for your interest! I am still awaiting testing results for things I improved recently, which I think is wise before making it publicly available.
-
Cool! Unfortunately, I cannot send you a link because I cannot access my ftp, so I'd have to send the mod to you - but it's 9 MB If you PM me your address I'll try, or maybe you would register at Rosenranken, then I could give you access to the playtesting forum where it is attached.
-
Oh, I think it is a quite stable install. Testing goes slowly as people seem to be busy otherwise. So, if you are not afraid of finding that one peronal bug only you can find because you did something differently than me or the others, I think you can install it. And if you do, I will be grateful.
I am preparing another update, when it's ready I could send you a link, if you want.

Now the confusion is perfect: of course there is a romance - two, actually (engaged and new). It just sounded as if you would expect only to be a romance in there - no other dialogues with other NPCs (especially female ones..). So, I tried a bit of advertising for the non-romance interested.
-
I don't know what you mean with romance mod. There is a friendship path, NPC banters and lots of interjections / event based dialogues (+quests, of course).
No, Iomen doesn't tease him endlessly, I am afraid. I think that Imoen is changed in BGII, and the banters reflect that.
-
Thank you - in case you want to test the beta don't hesitate to ask.
-
Starting a new game with your current install should suffice. It's just that you cannot use old, modded save games with newly modded games. Reinstalling everything won't change that, it's starting a new game for the current install that does.

Something like that could alos be a forgotten tilde (~) before a negative global check or something. If you post the content of the .d, I can have a look.
-
Thank you, you are right! Tutorial is corrected.Double-check that the files Z!EmulAreaCheck.BAF and Z!EmulAreaCheck1.BAF are named properly and in the right folder (this could be an issue with the tutorial - it doesn't include the prefixes when it describes the .baf files). -
Negative, yes, but if you want to check for AR5100, the variable has the value "5100".I assume it can but just to make sure, can it be used with a negative such as:!Global("Z!EmulAreaCheck","GLOBAL","AR5100")?
AreaCheck()For simulating AreaCheck(), the variable "Z!EmulAreaCheck" can be used: For the original BG areas, the value of the variable is equal to the "ARxxxx" number. For (mod) areas that are not named like the standard "ARxxxx", the variable is equal to "0".
For example, now the Area AR2600 can be detected via the trigger "Global("Z!EmulAreaCheck","GLOBAL",2600)".
I am not sure why there is your error message, did you check the path names etc.? It doesn't seem to find "newtweaks/baf/Z!EmulAreaCheck.BAF" in this path.

Thank you
Right now I am happy to have only three testers, as they find enough bugs to keep me busy
[released] Sir Ajantis for BGII mod

About the expansion of the thief quest: I would like to include the possibility that CHARNAME can get duplicates of the temple items. The only problem is: From whom? (S)he would need someone who knows what she is talking about, meaning the way leads someplace dark and illegal - which brings us to the shadow thiefs, haha. Maybe one of Renal's guys would fake it for her? But why would he, and why would the PC trust him?
My first idea was that the PC draws a scetch in the temple and then finds a goldsmith, but then I thought: Would a scetch from my PC suffice as a draft?
