  1. I'm getting lots and lots of parsing error messages (over 13000 282600!) when installing "Smarter General AI", "Smarter Mages" and "Smarter Priests". They all sound like this one: "[tb#_compile_eval_buffer/weidu_external/workspace\ssl_out\dw#hlpit.baf] PARSE ERROR at line 1325 column 1-50 Near Text: ) [CheckStatGT] argument [ENCHANTMENT_IMMUNITY] not found in [Stats.IDS]" Is it something anyone else is experiencing? I am using version 33.7 with the couple of fixes suggested by @Bartimaeusand @GrimJim. EDIT: Apparently is not something new. Others have reported it here but there was no solution. DavidW asked if there was any custom changes made to stratagems.ini. Nobody replied there but in my case there are. The Version 24 change log mentions the suppression of warning messages about ENCHANTMENT_IMMUNITY if the does_not_detect_items ini flag is checked (which is my case). I get no warnings but the ERROR messages are still produced.
  2. Well, since you have done the testing and everything looks fine I see no reason to change anything at all. I guess the issue may only present itself when the new version of IA (v6) is going to be released, just like things had to be adjusted when the latest version of 1PP was released. Thanks for checking it out. UPDATE: Just to wrap this up, when I tried to install 1PP after my version of AI I get an error message installing the main component. Funny thing is that the installer detects the presence of IA but it breaks things although it seems to be nothing but a typo at line 48 of 101_ia.tph (is iwd -> GAME_IS iwd). After correcting that typo everything installs fine except Thieves Galore that chokes when trying to patch bgmain.exe.
  3. Hi again! I found this very recent statement made by Gwendolyne: "If you want to benefit from all 1PP paperdoll content, you must install IA BG1 Characters components before 1pp" The BigWorldProject's latest version does not seem to help us much when it comes to IRR because there the installation order recommendations apply to IR v4b10 from 2017 which still includes old 1PP material. I guess some confusion and a certain degree of incompatibility is somewhat unavoidable until the new version of IA is out. At that point, it will be possible to coordinate a new effort to make IA, 1PP and IRR work nice with each other. Cheers!
  4. Yeah, I was attracted by the "cool" factor of it. But I can see it may not have much practical impact in the game and it may lead to some serious problems.
  5. @Bartimaeus, would you mind telling me why Infinity Animations need to be installed at two different times? Is there a particular reason for it? (with this I hope that all my installation order questions are finally finished ) Cheers!
  6. Thanks for the recommendation, subtledoctor. I will take a look at it.
  7. Hello! Quick question: I assume the component Recover lost items from Hell has been removed? It doesn't seem to be available with version 33.7. I also noticed some settings.ini entries also gone, namely: fiends_cast_slowly dragons_cast_slowly celestials_cast_slowly genies_cast_slowly Does anyone know why? Cheers!
  8. Well, reason enough for me to skip it. Thanks.
  9. I feel like I am flooding the board with message but I hope you can bear with my questions. Now I am wondering about whether or not you guys would recommend the Anthology Tweak "Cast Spells from Scrolls (and Other Items) at Character Level". In many ways it makes sense to me but I am wondering if there may be any bad interaction with SR or if I am possibly missing some other non desirable consequence or internal consistency with the spell system. Any advice?
  10. Hello everyone! I was wondering if someone playing with BGT played with this component installed. I found myself being quite unsure about it and I would love some feedback. Thanks!
  11. Small OT: I do wish Ascension64 could have stayed with us a little longer to develop TobEx further. Most of the new EE engine additions could have been added to it, I'm quite sure... Incidentally, I like the vanilla Petrification (I set this to 0 in the settings) so in my case it would have been particularly good to have a better solution for it.
  12. Hi there! I think a new version of IA is in the works and perhaps it will require changes in the future recommended installation order, just like it happened with the 2020 version of 1PP. This version I have on my local drive is a bit of a mystery because I have no recollection about how I got it and it does not come with new documentation (it still uses the b5 version of it). Gwendolyne is currently active developing a new IA version and that one explicitly mentions needing to be installed before 1PP. In my own notes this version I have was to be installed after 1PP just like you were recommending. But those notes were from before 1PP 4.2.0 and I am not sure they are still valid. I did download the master from github but the WIP there is missing both the .exe and a .tp2 making me think it is not supposed to be even tested by the daring. It's good that by talking about all this you got to amend your install order recommendation though. Cheers!
  13. Hello again, Bartimaeus! I have one more question about the installation order. You have Infinity Animation to be installed after 1PP. What version are you considering here? The readme file of the version I have (upcoming version 6) explicitly says that Infinity Animations should be installed before 1PP. Is there a particular reason why you recommend differently? Thanks!
  14. Hello! As I am about to install SRR, I would like to ask what recommendations you guys have (especially @Bartimaeus) for the .ini settings. A few of the settings I have already made up my mind about but there are some of them that I am really not sure which way to go: - Revised Saves - Dispel Globes - Alternative Remove Magic - AOE Lower Resistance - Resist Imprisonment Additionally, silly question perhaps but I noticed that there are several entries (ex. Petrification) whose value is set to 1 and then there is extended choice to 0 and 2. The 0 and 2 choices have a description of what they change but there is no comment about the meaning of the default value (1). How are we to interpret it? Also one more question: has Protection from Petrification been restored after it was removed by SR? If that is the case, has it been nerfed somehow? I didn't agree with Demi wanting to completely remove that spell from the game but I thought that perhaps a much shorter fixed (1 turn?) or scalable (3 rounds + 1 round / 4 Lvl?) duration may partly justify its Level 1 spell slot. Alternatively, an interesting possibility may be changing the Protection from Petrification spell to protect from turning into stone but with a ST vs petrification (-2?) to avoid slow and feeblemindedness effects. Thanks!
  15. @AL|ENI understand what you are saying. I was not starting any "holy crusade" against modders using WeiDU 247. But if possible we would need WeiDU 247 to have the flag --noautoupdate on by default so that it doesn't cause any issues. I am not capable of working on the source and @Wisp has been inactive for months. I am not sure that "wait until he produces a new version" is the right strategy here. Sorry for the off topic, jastey. It will be my last one.
  16. Got it, thanks. I am finding out WeiDU 247 to be something I would like to avoid as much as possible so perhaps if BGQE doesn't need the new functionalities it may be a good idea to downgrade back to 246.
  17. Hello there, @megapilhas! I am not able to test this but the script you quoted does seem to spawn both Balthazar and Melissan. CreateCreature("balth",[758.514],14) // Balthazar CreateCreature("dw#melis",[810.624],6) // Melissan Unless I am missing something. Try commenting out/removing those two lines from the script and see if they still spawn.
  18. I guess that for the meantime we can flag this component as non compatible with BGT.
  19. Hello jastey! Thanks for this new update. I have a question about a oddity I noticed when I installed BGQE. The .exe file is a whooping 7 Mb, compared to the usual 1 Mb of most WeiDU releases. It installed fine and all but I was wondering about its size. Can you tell me something about it? Thanks!
  20. Well, we can just hope that @Wisp will get to update WeiDU again but he may have retired from IA modding.
  21. Hello again, my friend. Now it all makes sense, of course. Thanks for the very detailed explanation about it all. I am sorry that your 1PP changes were rejected. Probably the maintainer (Gwendolyne, I think) thought the main priority was to preserve the body of the original modification without straying off from Erephine's vision of it. The only thing that I might find really weird is that some of your changes were plain fixes and I didn't see a single reason for not wanting them. The new 1PP structure that requires changes to the .ini is not something I am very fond of at all. This of course applies to other mods as well, including IRR. I understand its practicality but I'd rather make things happen at WeiDU install time every time it is possible. I am also not fond (like you) of having to install the main component of some modification first and then the rest later. But considering some of my own customizations (perhaps you remember Salk's Tweaks - I need to install some stuff in there not at 2 different times but 4! ). I hope you have had a nice and restorative weekend and thanks again for all the work you have done for us.
  22. Thanks for the suggestion, argent77. Are there issues with the latest version of WeiDU? I have some mod that comes with v247 and it does auto-update the mods I installed after it. I noticed that it also hangs the auto-updates too from v246 to v247. I have to close the window and restart the .exe (and then it works normally).
  23. I get an error message while trying to install v8.3 on BGT. "ERROR: error loading [wheels.tp2/lib/resource/weidu_external_readme.txt]" This breaks the installation. Apparently, the issue is here [from install_sfo.tpa]: ACTION_IF !VARIABLE_IS_SET mod_root BEGIN OUTER_SPRINT mod_root "%TP2_BASE_NAME%" ACTION_TO_LOWER mod_root END I am not sure whether I am doing it right but swapping %TP2_BASE_NAME% with %MOD_FOLDER% fixes it. I'd be curious why nobody else has ever reported this issue with version 8.3 before though?
  24. I would be another person interested in having this very nice modification for classic BG. Of course if making it compatible means to considerably lower the quality of the final result then I think @temnix would be right to not do it.
  25. Hello, Bartimaeus! I need to do some testing so I thought I would go again for a full BGT install after many months. I looked at my Installation Order file and I checked in here to confirm nothing changed but it seems quite much did in this respect. In my file I have: - SRR All Components - IRR Main Component - 1PP (with your changes) - Infinity Animation - IRR All Other Components And of course a slew of other modifications that would go in between (including a couple of my own customizations). But just to give an idea: the Unfinished Business 1 & 2 and Quest Pack would be installed after Infinity Animation and AI/Tweaks modification would be installed before IRR All Other Components. But now I read that your recommended installation order overturns this completely. What prompted this change? I am also uncertain what position a mod like Refinements should have. In my notes, it is installed after SCS and Rogue Rebalancing. Another question I have is about your 1PP fixes. Are they still needed for 1PP v4.2.0 or have they been integrated? As a side note several years ago Wisp suggested an install order of SCS -> RR -> Atweaks to resolve a compatibility issue with these three modifications together but it can as well be that newer version of SCS no longer requires that.
