Thimblerig
*scratches head* Why is there an elephant in the game icon library? (CMISC3G.BAM) What? Is there... I dunno, some kind of golden elephant mystical item that I've been missing all this time...? What else have I missed? Link to comment
Jarno Mikkola
It's the description .bam for the elephant item misc3g that was never included in the game... if you look around the misc3f it's a jade hound figure, misc3e is spider figure, and misc3h is the horn of blasting etc. So, it's likely to have been a part of the animal figure items that have a magical effect tied to the associated animal, wha that effect was ? Your guess is as good as mine. Link to comment
argent77
That's not the only strange animal depiction in the game. The toolbar icons file (GUIBTACT.BAM) contains an icon that looks like a sheep (or some such) at frame 41/42. I've heard reports that in some localizations it's an elephant instead. I wonder if or under what conditions that icon is used in the game. Link to comment

argent77
Live and learn... That comment is even more cryptic than the sheep/elephant in the game... Link to comment
Thimblerig
Uh - the longer you live, the more odd little facts you learn. (Like elephants in BG.) I guess the phrase "live and learn" used after fact-acquisition is a peculiarity of my local dialect instead of ubiquitous as I'd assumed. Huh. Link to comment
argent77
Ah, ok. I really should switch to a better translator. Link to comment

Jadbrak
This icon is used for an item in a certain mod, if I am remembering correctly it is an elephant figurine found in a new Temple of Sune just north of the Promenade. The figurine gave damage resistance at the cost of speed reduction and was a pretty cool little item even if the speed reduction was so onerous it was rarely worth it. I don't think I've seen anyone else use it in their mods, which is a shame because the world really needs more golden elephant figurines! (Probably would cut down on that whole illegal ivory trade thing, come to think of it...) Link to comment

Jarno Mikkola
add a quest to find the elephant in the room. I already did, see it's invisible, so you can't see it, but it's there. :leans on his logic, and falls down: Darn it Fluffy, next time, don't you move. Hmm, I probably should have named it Ironhide...and not make it so invisible. Now where is it ... Link to comment
