Gabrielle
So this came from the former Soviet Union? Strange that they would have holidays unless it reflected something good about the Communist party. Link to comment
Domi
Er... yes. We lived our lives and were happy, thank you very much. Then stupid idiots destroyed all that. Bastards. Link to comment
berelinde
Off on a tangent, there are Japanese children's holidays, aren't there? Separate ones for boys and girls? Link to comment
Domi
Yes, 3rd of March (girls) and 5th of May (boys) iirc. We did it in our Japanese group when I was a kid. It was fun! Link to comment
Eleima
See, now, I'm ignorant too, I had no idea there really *was* an International Men's Day, even though we joked about it yesterday. I have an idea, let's forget all this, and celebrate the upcoming Pi Day on March 14th (yeah, Pi as in the number!) During such an event, pi celebrants may approximate π, devise alternative values for π, eat pie, play piñata, drink Piña Colada, eat pizza, listen to the song "Pi" by Kate Bush, watch Pi, or recite Pi. Wow, that was completely randomn. Sorry. Just blame it on post-exam unwinding! Link to comment
Domi
Mmgh... that International Pi day can't come soon enough! Mmgh... pie.... Link to comment
berelinde
I'd like pizza instead. Unless your pie is a butterscotch cream pie, with whipped cream... Mmmmm. Link to comment

EiriktheScald
I remember Nora Dunn (SNL) portrayed Raisa as a reccurring character on the show. (How's that for bringing this thread back on track? ) Link to comment

Belladonna
Cute. Lets hope the States don't adapt this holiday. The reason I say this it would give those lazy government employees another paid holiday. Link to comment
