EndlessBG1 - Functions not installed

Recommended Posts

1) I don't know bg scripting language but I looked at EET code related to familiar and found that during transition probably should be executed this script action

ReallyForceSpellRES("K#FAMREM",Player1)

I called it with console through Eval command and it fixed my issue with familiar - extra hp were removed and all variables were set correctly so I was able to summon another one.

2) They were in party during transition (I used canonical party in bg1), PC equipment was removed, but Minsc and Jaheira were fully equipped in their cages.

Remar: what EndlessBg1 does is that it summons the creature that starts the original BGII transition for EET. This creature has a script that does all the moving and item removal and NPC healing etcpp. I believe you that you had the issues, I'll check whether it's EndlessBG1's fault somehow.

Hi Jastey, I also want to inform about small issue related to EBG1 on BGEE and (probably?) unmodded SoD.

After Sarevok's death, some journal entries are not "solved". I think it would be nice tweak to close such quests when EBG1 starts.

I found these quests as unresolved in my last gameplay:

Spoiler

#31288 - Afoul of the Law
#31374 - On the Trail of Sarevok
#31396 - Slythe and Krystin
#31400 - Tandem in Extremis
#31416 - The Rise of Sarevok

Maybe all of these quests could be closed when FF healer comes to underground temple. To prevent journal removal, there should be added a general new journal entry like:

Quote

<Quest title>

Sarevok is dead. This chapter of my life is over.

What do you think?

Something seems glitchy at the final step, after finishing Korlasz Tomb. I talk to Belt, he thanks me and the other Duke take the books; some people say their goodbyes.... but then they do not leave and the conversation ends. I'm still at the palace. I try talking to Belt again, and the sequence repeats, gving the xp rewards, gold, and reward item all over again (tho the goodbye sequence only plays once).

EEt install in BG2  version 2.6.6.0

@Tygaran from the weidu.log, you do not have the component 14 "orlasz' Crypt is in BG1" from EndlessBG1 installed. Plus, you have Transitions installed.

Meaning, the feature of doing Korlasz' Crypt in your game is inserted by Transitions, not EndlessBG1. EDIT: Also, keep in mind that the new components of EndlessBG1 v9 are not compatible with Transitions lower than v2.4. I put a explicite warning about this into the readme.

The DEBUG log only shows for the "Captain Corwin in the Palace" component, did you install that at a later moment than the rest of EndlessBG1?

Guess it's my own fault for not reading the readme thoroughly then.  I really only want the BG2 portion of Transitions, but looking at the mod options in Project Infinity again I see they most deal with BG1.  The BG2 stuff must be i the Main component somewhere.  I have to dig...

I don't recall reinstalling the Corwin part independently.  Odd.  NO matter.  Now that I know what's goign on I used the 'wish item' I received the first time and it's actually the method form Transitions to move on to BG2.  Silly me for not checking that and thinking it was an item with some charges of Limited Wish, heh.

Haha! It's an interesting find though that you seem to have had reply options from EndlessBG1 although they probably shouldn't be there (Transitions considers some content from EndlessBG1 but also overwrites content and I think transition to SoD would be overwritten by Transition.) I wish the BGII content was independent on the BG1 content but that's up to @Lauriel.

@Lauriel I admit I removed some variables from Transitions from EndlessBG1's Belt's dialogue because I forgot what they were for. Might that have lead to the player seeing the wrong reply options?

I ended up just reinserting them. I think it would be better if such compatibility code was added by the mod installed later in principle, though.

Hello. I posted this on #mod-discussion on the infinity-engine Discord, looks like this is a better place.

So, what happens:

I beat Sarevok, and when entering the Ducal Palace, Liia, Belt and Eltan are not hostile, but approaching them with anyone in the party causes Liia's Spell Trigger to fire, and _then_ she and Belt (_not_ Flaming Fist or Eltan, in fact, Liia and Belt attack the enforcers) go hostile.

Another update since this happened, I went back to the save file (attached) and a while after the above happens, ~~Winski Perorate~~ of all people dimension doors in, flamestrikes charname, screen fades and game over movie plays. I found this interesting because on my trek through the Thieves Guild maze, he was _not_ dying by the entrance to the Undercity as expected. Maybe relevant, I don't know.

Additional 'don't know if relevant': during Chapter 7, I had Flaming Fist chase me all through the city, and one of them came into the Ducal Palace with me for the coronation. I walked around to get another enforcer to attack him as not to lose rep and maybe get everyone hostile at me. During the doppleganger fight the log told me he died.

Very funny bug, would play through again 10/10 :)

@jastey EndlessBG1 and  bg1re's "Scar's Return" :

I had this dependency : "6: Duke Eltan is in the Palace" is compatible with bg1re's "Scar's Return" confirmed if installed after bg1re.

Is it still valid or the order of installation for the mods doesn't matter anymore  ?

I am having doubts because i read in the readme that EBG1 is completely compatible with this component from bg1re v3.0 or higher.

The install order is EndlessBg1 -bg1re and that's impotant for the "Scar' Return" bonus quest. Where did you get the dependnecy that bg1re should be installed before? It's not correct.
