And...done. That was easier than I thought
Now, I wonder... this semi_spont module is duplicated in many mods you maintain, I guess I'll have to edit all of them

In the mean time, I pushed https://github.com/UnearthedArcana/5E_spellcasting/pull/1
You can take it if you're interested.
-
Is that windows only ?

I see, I guess we all care about different things, I wouldn't care much about having duplicated entries in the logs, but you don't have a use for tooltips (my tablet have some kind of hover events when I use a pencil by the way, though I couldn't test it as I don't have the mobile game myself).
In doubt, in the "scratch you own itch" logic , it's probably better that the mod fit the use cases of its maintainer.
But now I have to find a way to identify my own spells (and no, learning to recognize them by memory will probably no happen, at least not in this century ).

I have a strange issue with the 5e mod.
With a new character (or a character just after a reload), when I click the spells button to show all spells and hover on a spell icon, I'll have a tooltip that state the name of the spell (like "F1: magic missiles"). Very handy, I'm usually not able to recognize spells from the icon.
But after a couple second, I guess the time the script that initializes the 5e system, right after the "spells" icons disables/reenables, if i click on it and hover a spell icon, I now don't have a useable tooltip anymore, only "F1: " without the spell name.
That happens on bg1 ee 2.6.6 on linux, with only DLCmerger and 5E_spellcasting installed (components 100 and 900), with a mage
EDIT: same with a cleric

Well, I was wrong, but I least I think I played the role of the Rubber duck

From what I read in the code (first actual code exploration though) here https://github.com/Gibberlings3/SwordCoastStratagems/blob/master/stratagems/genai/ssl/shoot.ssl
Non "moron" and non wizard-slayers enemies with prefer shooting the PC if they see them before mages.
So you could try to shield the mage with PC (if you haven't already done that).

Hi, I was trying to create a french localization for MnG, mostly for my own use ( but if it reaches completion and I'm satified with it, I way submit it).
I stumble upon mostly duplicated entries, some are probably (AFAII) legit, like a version a of a class description with feats enabled and another without, but I think the kensai descriptions, each for one weapon seem to be unused (in fact, the 260_revised_kensai.tpa seems to be mostly commented out).
Do you think I can ignore the @2601 - @2631 range ?
EDIT:
i'm never entirely sure because the RESOLVE_STR_REF appears to hide where tra strings are used (as far (little) as I understand it)...In fact it doesn't -

I think that new description doesn't get copied in if you keep the spell at level 3, which is the new default. So it should be no problem. (Of course if you install the spell at level 2 it would be off...) But I'll double check that. Good catch.
I must admit I didn't do an install to check that.

Hi, thank you for your correction.
I hope I don't appear annoying, I really don't mean to
Along with your recent change on this line
OUTER_SET spell_thrust_level = 3
you may want to modify this line
@12321 = ~Spell Thrust Level: 1
To have the description match the actual spell level (at least in the default situation)

Hi, I have a failure when trying to install v 1.03 (on bg2ee, linux, no other mod installed).
I attached the debug file (zipped) and weidu.log.

I guess regexes containing nbsp don't work...
@201 = ~Peut utiliser la capacité de ['«][^:]+:~
makes the replacement while
@201 = ~Peut utiliser la capacité de ['«][ ][^:]+:~
doesn't work

> This mod requires EEex created by Bubb to work
Ahhh....so no linux...
EDIT: Uh it's been updated? So maybe there's a non-windows version then!
EDIT2: hm not yet
-
I was actually looking for something like that...
-
Ah I was not properly restoring the tlk files after each attempt
-
Do weidu regexes support non-ascii characters like "U+00A0 : NO-BREAK SPACE" or "U+00AB : LEFT-POINTING DOUBLE ANGLE QUOTATION MARK" / U+00BB : RIGHT-POINTING DOUBLE ANGLE QUOTATION MARK", all of them present in the bg2ee variation ?
-
Clearly people are using weidu to install mods on non-pc (I am using a linux pc).
QuoteI use an alternate step 2 myself, running the Mac Weidu Launcher tool. Unfortunately, I don't know where to find that at the moment, since the Beamdog forums are currently unavailable.
Maybe that's it.? https://github.com/subtledoctor/MacOS_Weidu_Launcher

I actually tried to use
(Or'ing the two alternative of the whole @201 string)
I hadn't seen the du | de part at this time so that must be why it didn't work I guess.

Hi, I was trying to translate (for personal use as first intention) the bits of bard class description that are to be replaced/replacing in class updates bard.
Now I find that the specific bit at @201 (to be replaced)
@201="May use Bard Song ability\. While active, the Bard Song has the following effects:" // 1-4 must exactly match the appropriate strings from the BG2 description of the bard song (other than replacing '.' with '\.')
is different in BG1ee and BG2ee in french. See BG2ee
- Peut utiliser la capacité de 'Chant de barde'. Lorsqu'elle est active, cette capacité octroie aux alliés les bonus suivants : augmente moral à valeur moyenne, protection contre la peur et apaisement de la peur.
and
They also have a different layout for the bard song bonuses : single line vs one per line.
How would I make it work ?

Hi, the 1.03 give me some trouble.
First, I get parsing errors on lib/MBR.tpa until I add *two* "END" at the end of this file. I didn't check why
Then once I've done that, it fails because it didn't find a file
> ERROR: error loading [Magic_Battles_Revised/data/spl/d5disrem.spl]
probably this line in MBR.tpa :COPY ~%MOD_FOLDER%/data/spl/d5disrem.spl~ ~override~ -
I also think it's a good idea to mention it's limited to windows versions.
-
Oh I see, that's completely possible be where it came from, thanks.
-
Yes you're right, Cloak of Darkness, lv 3 spell from FnP, from the Sun sphere (uh?).
Thank you!
-
Hi, I was wondering...what's this "Cloak of Darkness" specific protection that is dispelled by Remove/Dispel Magic ?

What is the base location of your game installation (absolute path if you accept to tell us)?
What is the path of the chitin.key file (possibly CHITIN.KEY) in this installation? (i don't know the layout of the games from steam)
In what location in this game installation did you unpack the mod?
Where did you launch weidu from (`$pwd`)
I find this a bit suspicious as in my (Gog) install the lang subdir is along with chitin.key (where you should launch weidu)
