This trick is very helpful for me and kind of obvious in retrospect. Thanks for sharing.

My manual installation continues. I've finished off all the quest and NPC mods. The only one that had install issues was Fonick, which given its limited size and scope I just elected to remove from the list rather than trying to troubleshoot the issue.
Up next, Items, Classes/Kits, Tweaks, and SCS.

Argent77 responded with a fixed .tp2 file. See attached.

I'm back at the install and have gotten further this time without errors. However, I've run into a problem with installing a BGEE NPC portrait mod of all things.
The first mod that has failed to install is the Convenient Enhanced Edition NPCs v 4.0. @argent77. It failed on the component to switch to Baeloth's alternate version in BG2 only. Setup-a7-convenienteenpcs.debug contents behind the spoiler.

TOTAL 1.547Weidu.Log and Weidu-BGEE.log files attached. @Cahir, @4udr4n did either of you run into a problem like this? I was expecting problems with a script or area, not a custom spell.
-
I meant my comment as a bit of a playful joke, but I seem to have hit a nerve and what I wrote didn't come across as I intended. My apologies.
-
Was this mod made compatible with EET or was it just intended for the EE version?
-
@Jarno Mikkola it sounds like a mod like Improved Anvil might be more of your taste. I hear its one of the premier tactical mods out there for the truly discerning player.
-
Longer Road and Redemption are two mods that may have Elhan involvement. Neither are currently supported though.
SimDing0's questpack may also touch Elhan in its changes.
-
If you are looking for a more modern Spheres system for bg2 I would check out the Faiths & Powers mod (see misc mods on this site). It is currently supported and I think has had a bit morework done to balance it.
-
The best sphere balanced system I've seen is the Spheres of Power/Spheres of Might for the Pathfinder system by Drop Dead Studios. It is a customizable system that bolts into the 3.P system and allows caster type characters to do some really cool stuff they couldn't otherwise at the cost of being a system that more closely resembles the martial class design. Honestly it would probably representa rather cool basis for a series of kit mods for casters or melee character.
-
Is there any particular reason for being needlessly combative, or is that just your schtick?
-
Would unfinished BG1 quests also despawn/no longer trigger? Could I for example go back and do Durlag's Tower once I had progressed to BG2?
-
What does stay once the game moves on to BG2?
-
Jarno's Idea of triggering an area of effect Entangle around the hit target on the other hand does a bit more. It lets your fighter/tanky types do a bit more crowd control and keep enemies off your squishier characters.
-
The reason I suggested upping the duration so it lasts hours like mage armor is there is a role for magic created weapons and armor that are not traditional items at lower levels. The +x at low levels helps hitting stuff and slightly higher damage dice could make it a decent alternative if you haven't found a +1 staff or club. If you are going to keep it as a min/level buff though then I agree that a larger redesign may be worthwhile.
Some ideas of other effects while wielded include
1. Protection from unnatural similar to protection from evil. Undead, fiends, constructs?
2. Sanctuary effect while wielded against unnatural. Poor mans staff of the magi.
3. Entangle proc effect chance on hit.
4. Fatigue proc effect chance on hit.
5. Some of the above effects or the vase ability, but also a special ability that consumes the shillelagh (you drop it) to form a wall of thorns that is slow to move throughand does damage at same enchantment level as the shillelagh. Basically you plant the club and it grows into a wall of thorns.
-
Anti-unnatural might be an interesting thing. My comment was mostly a matter of if you want to give it some interesting stuff, make sure it doesn't overpower the BG1 portion of the game and to take advantage of spell scaling with level.
-
Remember to consider BG1 in these modifications. For Shillelagh, it might be worthwhile to just give it a longer duration like mage armor. It means that one character doesn't need a basic magic weapon at low levels. You could allow it to scale or have it grant additional effects (maybe a stun or entangle). The PF version of the spell does the following:
QuoteYour own non-magical club or quarterstaff becomes a weapon with a +1 enhancement bonus on attack and damage rolls. A quarterstaff gains this enhancement for both ends of the weapon. It deals damage as if it were two size categories larger (a Small club or quarterstaff so transmuted deals 1d8 points of damage, a Medium 2d6, and a Large 3d6), +1 for its enhancement bonus. These effects only occur when the weapon is wielded by you. If you do not wield it, the weapon behaves as if unaffected by this spell.
So making it do more damage than a basic club might be an approach as well.
-
I'm impressed how many I got from memory. This was discussed on the SHS forums way back in the day, but it was in the Refinements workroom and I can't remember my login info for the site anymore, even if I could still access the workroom.

Avenger
Ability Requirement: Str 15+, Dex 14+, Con 15+
Prime Requisite: Str, Con
Allowed Races: Dwarf, Half-Vistani, HumanAvengers are fighters who are driven by an almost obsessive need for revenge. At some point in their past, they witnessed a great wrong or tragedy and have dedicated themselves to seeing that those responsible, or others like them, are punished for their crimes or actions.
Ability Requirements
An avenger has spent years perfecting his physical condition and training for his war against his chosen enemy. To reflect this, his physical ability scores must be well above average. An avenger must have a Strength score of at least 15, a Dexterity score of no less than 14, and a Constitution score of 15 or better. The prime requisites for avenger characters are Strength and Constitution. If an avenger has a score of 16 or higher in both of these scores, he earns a bonus of +10% to any experience points awarded to him during the course of play.
Alignment
All avenger characters must be either neutral or chaotic. Apart from this, the alignment of avenger player characters is spread evenly between good and neutral. Only nonplayer characters can be of an evil alignment.
In general, the alignment of the avenger is the opposite of his enemy. If the character seeks revenge upon an evil person, then his alignment is good. However, a Dungeon Master could choose to have both an avenger nonplayer character and the target of his hatred to be evil.Arms and Armor
As with the fighter, an avenger can use any type of weapon or armor available to him. Because of his intense training, he can also choose to specialize in a weapon.
Weapon Specialization
Avengers devote much of their time to training and exercise. Because of this, they have the ability to specialize in a melee weapon of their choice. Since their need for face-to-face vengeance is so great, avengers cannot choose to specialize in any type of ranged weapon.Spells and Magical Items
Avengers, like most other warriors, cannot cast spells. They focus on their own obsession too much to devote their minds to the involved study required for spellcasting. Only the martial exercises hold any fascination for them.
Avengers use the same magical items as normal fighters. Thus, they can use all manner of magical arms, armors, and shields. In addition, they can use most magical rings, potions, and scrolls of protection.Extra Hit Points
An avenger's focused need for revenge is such that whenever he confronts an enemy that reminds him of his nemesis in melee combat, he gains 5 hit points to help him through the encounter. This bonus increases to 10 hit points when he faces the subject of his vengeance. These hit points work exactly like the aid spell in that they are the first hit points the avenger loses when he takes damage. Once the combat is over, the extra hit points (if any) go away.Intuition
If an avenger makes a successful Wisdom check while pursuing his foe, he intuitively "knows" which direction he should head. This ability helps an avenger by providing him with a general direction to go; it does not guide him directly to a specific location.Basically a high stat Fighter that can specialize in melee weapons, but not ranged, and who gets extra HP and even more HP when facing a "favored enemy", plus tracking. For BG2, I'd probably amplify the bonuses to a bit more than extra HP

The ranger Good alignment restriction is a part of the basic class as outlined in the Player's Handbook.
QuoteThe ranger must have scores not less than 13 in Strength, 14 in Constitution, 13 in Dexterity, and 14 in Wisdom. The prime requisites of the ranger are Strength, Dexterity, and Wisdom. Rangers are always good, but they can be lawful, neutral, or chaotic. It is in the ranger's heart to do good, but not always by the rules.
Apparently there was an evil ranger kit in the Ravenloft set. I haven't found it yet, but I did run across a couple of interesting Warrior type kits.

Creating your own kit is pretty simple so long as you stick to the basic projectiles and graphics. However, I've noticed that modifying both those areas is something you seem to have a lot of experience in. You should give it a try yourself.

I can give you what I can remember, but the safest way is going to be installing Refinements on a classic version of ToB and then creating a new character and giving them enough XP to trigger a level up so you can view the HLA screen. Then go through the list of Refinment classes (and the Sword Angel). Any that are not a HLA will probably end up being something related to a spell of which there are only a few and should be easier to track down.

Jumping off from the suggestions, you could make it a consumeable that grants a fast healing/regeneration type effect. Make it something that accelerates HP regeneration on the scale of resting, but not something that you gain a whole lot of benefit from using in combat. Something like X/hp per hour as a way to accelerate inn rest.

Like an icebox. It reminds me of how in Star Trek Voyager, one of the alien crew members, Kes, had a body temperature of 14-16.9 °C (57.2°F to 62.4°F). Apparently she was sweating all the time (or whatever was her species' equivalent), since that is lower than room temperature in most places. Or it just meant that the writer just wanted to throw an alien sounding line without thinking about any of the consequences.
My new "Made in Heaven" mods

I just installed the Made in Heaven item Pack v4 and while the install appeared to go correctly, the final outputting of the number of translated text produced some errors.
I believe this is because mih_ip has the folder language/english/... rather than the lang/english path that older versions had.
Rows 23-26 in setup-mih_ip.tp2 should be changed accordingly:
LANGUAGE ~English~ ~english~ ~mih_ip/language/english/setup-mih_ip.tra~ ~weidu-external/language/english/setup-mih_ip.tra~
This still produces the error message below, so I don't know if it actually does anything.
