  1. Or you could always mute player-initiated options, too, I guess. (Agreed: Ajantis is lovely. )
  2. Welcome back! ... or you could start a project of your own. It's 2007, and people still want a Haer'Dalis romance!
  3. I like it! He has a dark, sinister aura in this one, and everything looks very much in place - well, for me, I mean.
  4. Yeah, I guess I'm just not into blonde guys. Though Nord looks quite sexy, if you ask me...
  5. I can see it here, and I couldn't(still can't) see it on the main page. But - I don't know, it might be just me, but the hair looks slightly out of place here, a little - maybe because it is too bright, and the skin is much darker?
  6. This is great - I am definitely playing an elven female falling for Diriel first thing I download it.
  7. Diriel... Oooooh, Diriel... *gulp* The portrait alone makes me fall in love with a character. And Prachi. Beautiful. And when I read the character concepts, I realised these are two characters my protagonist would grow close to. And they are not romanceable. Ah. Domi, now I totally understand what you meant when you said your favourite characters never turned out romanceable in games.
  8. Untrue - I never raised this particular idea before neither in private nor in public, since the thought of Miranda trusting Gavin entered my mind only this evening. I am sorry, but I do feel the need to clarify this. That's certainly up to you. However, I've just finished "Evermeet - Island of Elves(Elaine Cunningham)" - where the author felt she had to depict the lawful wife of the king in the worst way possible, without any redeeming qualities whatsoever, so that the other woman(who got the man in the end) looked like a saint in comparison. It wasn't pretty.
  9. One more suggestion - of the opposite nature, this time. When Miranda found out that she was pregnant, she didn't get together with the real father of the girl. Instead, she slept with Gavin and told him a lie - that Gavin was Lanie's father. Which might be a pretty horrible thing to some. But, on the other hand, it is a really beautiful sign of trust - to deliver him her daughter, to trust him enough to become a good father, and to acknowledge that he, while not being a biological parent, is a decent enough man to bring the girl up. Looking from this angle, there might be a possibility of redemption for her - a possibility that might be worth exploring. What if she eventually feels true, real remorse for her behavior, for her subsequent cheating and her neglest of her only daughter, and becomes a better person? A child raised together builds a bond between two people - a bond not easily broken. What if it could be reforged again, so that Gavin would be able to forgive her, and she - him? First for the sake of the girl, perhaps, and then - for their own sakes. I think it could be a truly beautiful ending of this story - only one of the possible endings, of course.
  10. Are you sure that such a thought even arises? I might be biased culturally, but I saw that Miranda-Talon situation as a typical one in Russia: even if the priest was the real father, he'd just give the woman some money and walk away - the thought of taking care of a bastard child wouldn't even arise. Very few men in his place would even think of it - he'd have to be another Gavin or something.
  11. Yes, a pregnancy might be a motivation, too - though berelinde mentioned that she wouldn't be introducing a pregnancy in any of her mods. Here. And as for what the good character will and will not do - I think a good character wouldn't make Gavin multilate himself, either. This will make a paladin, for one, fall as easily as if she'd just committed a murder. But, a good character or no, I have a feeling that a "kill Lanie" option is going to introduce an interesting roleplaying choice. (edit) Besides, the way things are in the game, PC will have an option to kill Lanie outside of Gavin's presence anyway, just like PC can murder the girl and/or her father in Xan's quest.
  12. I'd prefer to see this in BG2, but since there's no BG2 forum yet, I'll post it here. (I think it is possible to do it in BG1, as well, but since PC doesn't actually get to see where Lanie lives...) It's quite a nasty deed, but since PC has an option to do a Very Nasty Thing to Gavin(see the thread with the green icon for spoilers) in BG1 already, here we go: "Lanie's Murder". PC could pay someone to kill the girl. The most probable reason is jealousy(so she wouldn't have to compete, etc, etc), but there could be an "Imprison Keldorn's wife so he doesn't leave the party/Kill Gavin's brat so he doesn't leave the party" reason. (Also, an excellent way to show Gavin that, while he wouldn't befriend assassins, PC of every class could do even worse things. Like hiring assassins). There's a Thief Guild around, PC can even become a guildmaster(and one of his thieves specializes in assasinations). It's easy enough to arrange these things out of the party's earshot. Gavin may never find out... or he may leave the party... or... or what will he do? That's a Very Wicked Thing for BG2 for you.
  13. But that's several megabytes that may be totally unnecessary for BG2 users. I remember, back in the days I was a poor student who didn't have any permanent internet access(talking about studying CS in the best university of Russia, heh), it made a difference. Might still, to someone else. I know, three downloads - TUTU one, BGT one and BG2 one - might be too much disc space on the server, but I kind of think it might be the best solution.
  14. Okay, but no portraits from me, I'm afraid: Xan in BG2, as I said, uses only the official one.
  15. Xan BG2 NPC has only one portrait currently; no additional ones are supported, yet - I haven't seen anything I liked, unfortunately. Once there are any additional options, I'll naturally let you know, so continuity is preserved.
  16. I don't think "I don't/didn't play any romances" will make any sense here - the poll is for those who did play, after all.
  17. Absolutely. So if, say, a few hundred other users who played BG1 NPC Project, but never got to romances, will choose the last option "Neither of the romances worked for me"(while they simply didn't see them), the results of the poll will be rather disheartening.
  18. Well, "I hated them all" and "I didn't play any" are two rather different things...
  19. Don't kill me, but - with IWD1 TUTU Beta ready, and IWD1 generally being a good(or so they say) game, do you think you'll ever be working on IWD1 NPCs?
  20. Re: FW3500 - Xan's Quest from BG1 NPC continues around [200.3100] (actually, the cutscene and the battle takes the bottom left corner of the map). But you'll see - anyway, it's not as the area doesn't have enough space.
  21. The ring of Earth Control has its AC bonus all right, it's just the saving throws bonus has been removed. My only concern with Fixpack is that it keeps introducing bugs: my last but one Fixpack version had "De'Arnise Guards are mute and do nothing" bug, and SoTM "Protection from Evil". Fortunately, it's been fixed in a timely manner, but the taste, so to say, lingered.
  22. (And half elves weren't even my idea, to start with... I'm all about pure elves, me... mmm... elves...) But yeah, I recall I have mentioned nasty surprises three times in a row. (Man, you don't want to play any of Xan romances for BG2. BG1 is flowers compared to this.)
  23. Seventeen. Three are us.
  24. Thank you. (me&Domi) Yep, figured I'd leave it all to the player's imagination, since different guys have very different erotic tastes. There are hints here and there, though. Heh, Xan Romance originally had some very... mmm... o p e n scenes, but, fortunately, no-one saw them but me - and now I've deleted them altogether.
