icelus
I've received one from another member, but... I have to ask. Why are they so important? I'm not asking out of sarcasm, just general curiosity. Link to comment
jester
IMportant to whom? Or just another source of spam? paleo@gmx.at just too curious to pass on this. Link to comment
Idobek
I just want to make sure no-one nabs "idobek@gmail.com" and starts sending me e-mails. Link to comment
Loké
I think it's the filehosting size. 1gb storage and a very high attachment limit. A real breath of fresh air from the more sifling providers like hotmail. I'm working on getting a pop3 account: Unlimited storage and something like an 8mb attachment limit. Invite sent jester. Andyr
I don't think I need one, but could someone explain what gmail is? Just an email account with big storage? Who runs it? And why? Link to comment
CamDawg
Google does. The tradeoff is that Google in turn will scan the content of your email for keywords to better target advertising just for you. I have an account, but I'm only using it for large attachments and storage. Link to comment
Andyr
And what's this inviting business about? Do you have to be special to qualify for a gmail account or something? Link to comment
CamDawg
You need to be invited by an existing gmail account holder. How they selected the initial ones, I'm not sure. Link to comment
julwise
I don't know how accurate this is or whatever but it's interesting, just in case. http://www.gmail-is-too-creepy.com/ Link to comment
