BG1 Mods Install Order?

Recommended Posts

Is there an install order for the stuff hosted on this site? I saw the list from above but that was like, super old so I wasn't sure. For reference, I was hoping to do RE, UB, Glam, BG NPC Project, and the mini quests if I could fit it. I'm a little lost about how to tell which ones play nicely with each other.

Just to clearify - if you are talking about the mods, it helps a lot if you use the common abbreviations. RE and UB for example are the BG2 versions of the mods (Romantic Encounters, Unfinished Business). I guess you are referring to the bg1 mods though, which would be bg1ub and bg1re. BG1NPC Project can be "BG1NPC", and BG Mini Quests and Encounters would be bgqe. It also helps if you say for which game. Do you have SoD, from GOG or Steam? Then you'd need the DLC Merger as very first mod.

The mods you listed are all compatible. There is a little controversy whether bg1ub should be installed before or after BG1NPC, but I would go with:

  • (DLC Merger)
  • bgqe
  • bg1re
  • bg1ub
  • BG1NPC
  • Glam's NPC Pack

Ahh thanks! I have them from Beamdog so do I still need the DLC Merger? I own the EE editions of both games, which comes with SOD.

That's good to know, thanks!

Like I wrote, the mods EndlessBG1, bgqe,    bst so far should be good in any install order, but in principle, my recommended install order is EndlessBG1 early. It's more important for bg1re and Transitions and the NPC mods and Another fine Hell etc.

I4E should be installed before Endless BG1?

I think it's the install order specified in I4E but I don't remember why. So, PI might enforce it with the current mod version but unless I remember why it would be necessary this might change for the next update.
