Well, my progress reports are as dynamic as a snail's treck accross a rotting branch So, at that break-neck pace of mine, I did a lot of finalizing in the first area - mainly experimenting with custom animations to make conversations a bit more presentable. My biggest concern is Nyalee, whose speech patterns just don't flow well with the normal talk animation.. I need something more jittery and bobbing. I timed some nods to her 'yes', 'yes', and I added 'fidgetnervious' or something like that in a loop mode; I know that the nods show up, but I am yet to see the fidget thinggie. It will be a pain to custom animate her every line, but that's life. I put huge amount of time into editing the voice-work. As a result, I have: 2 custom soundsets rcorded and functioning (without subtitles though, sorry, I don't think I have enough patience to paste 200 entries into a custom dialogue talk and then reference each of them just now.... yeah, I know, polish, polish, but I want to see my mod happening too.) The same 2 characters now have the completely voiced intro sequences and interjections in the first area. All told that was about 150 strings edited, lip-coordinated, and assigned. I also rough-coded the area introduction dialogue and Imoen's encounter - obviously, once the voicework is in, I'll need to go back and finetune, ajust cameras to be more precise and all that. I am now learning how to make my first spawn and intergrate it with a cutscene - hoping madly that an on-enter script in the spawn will make the cutscene trigger AFTER the creatures are spawned. I mean... it's logical, no?

Well, thanks to the kind help from the folks on the BioBoards, I finally sorted out the last of the issues in my 'starting zone' and moved on to the huge outdoor area that contains 3 talkie encounters and a couple of a large-scale battles... well, in plans! I started coding Imoen's dialogue, and completely forgot about the introductory dialogue that is *supposed* to introduce the area. Hmm, I guess I will finish Imoen's first. Again, for all the concerned folk - Imoen does NOT have to be killed, but there are consequences to either choice. There are a few different motivations offered as well. On the sound front, I've got a bunch of sound for Saemon and Nyalee, so I am starting to insert it in the game, and it works very well. What I am falling ridiculously behind on is the coding of the companion's dialogue trees. So far, I only have the join-in sections done, and barely scratched the surface on Alianna's info gathering snippets that allow you to mine the info you might have missed when going through her intro. I will need to catch up on Saemon and Nyalee's first, because I have the voice actors actively working on these two atm. Anyways, it's going relatively smoothly, but too slowly, as ever.
  5. I decided to play through a vanilla version first, making notes and writing the dialogues as required, as the game looks complex. So, it's some time before I can start showing the screenshots.
  6. Apparently, in NWN2 0 Mark-up doesn't mean that there is no Mark-Up, but that the merchant doesn't charge anything for the items. It's a default value, and one has to set it to 100 to get the 'default' price. Huh. Live and learn!
  7. Heh, the store now opens, but everything costs 1 gp. OMG, I created a WalMart! But, the upside of the store torture is that I corrected pretty much every other glitch and added a couple of short 'pointer' dialogues with the companions advising the PC to rest or pickpocket someone.
  8. Mostly I was working on making item aquisition more interesting (and some minor fixes). I added pickpocetable magic items on select characters in the temple area. Made the 'free' stuff in the treasury mostly non-enchanted, with a few magic items thrown in. And attempted to add the store to Mother Keys. Attempted because so far it doesn't work. The dialogue additions are fine, but by whatever reason the ga_open_store in combination with a blueprint store I've created won't load when the conversation option comes up. I am not sure what's up with that. But that's not new, lol. The auditions for Saemon Havarian also got done. Thanks to everyone who participated! I have gotten a few lines for Nyalee, so if I am becoming cautiously optimistic that I will be able to intergrate a custom soundset soon. Other voicing is not that hot - I can't get in touch with the Toral re-voicer, and I am afraid I will have to recast the role again. Lol, I am starting to think that I will never move into the area 2.

Well, I finally got my machine back, but while I was doing a fair bit of modding, I didn't manage to get to the DS seriously, overwhelmed by Kivan's stuff and FP, and playing MotB (yep, sometimes I just play too! ) However, I got me Saemon Havarian voice Heads up for everyone - it's not coming until I sort out a couple of issues in the first area (mainly setting up the store instead of free for all loot in the treasury), but next I will be working with Imoen, so if you want to voice her, please, give me a shout!
  10. Wee! I finally advanced a bit in my game, saw the original scene with Bishop. Yeah, it wasn't their best effort, that's for sure. I am undecided as of yet if I want to start hacking in or if I want to see an entire play-through in its original version. But the good thing is - I am finally out of the still water.
  11. (Giggles.) I am talking to someone bout authoring one of the companions in their module (a unique one that, set in ancient India, yay!) and he's not-good. So, I guess, the good guy/gal is very far into the future.
  12. I am sure there is a 'good' romance in me somewhere, it just didn't surface yet.
  13. Heya, they were both a lot of fun to write. Particulary Salomeya. But yep, I am actually short on good character romances compared to every other game out there, lol!

  15. I have recieved all the materials I wrote so far back from the editor and almost managed to restart the game this morning. So, more progress reports in the near future, I hope. I am actually thinking to code the 'saving Bishop' sequence right away, so I can test it out as I play thorugh this segment on this play-through.

  19. Shilmista. He has things to do (namely depart and rejoin Deheriana), so if you dismiss him, he leaves. The TDD version of Kivan if that's what you are talking about won't have the dialogues assigned.

    Hi Meira, You know, one of the biggest things that made me adore Amber was just how complete and immaculate the mod was in SoA even in the beta version. Summer is only 2 or 3 months away, so if you foresee time coming then, I'd suggest you hold off on the rush descisions, and instead match the perfect track of Amber SoA. I'd rtaher you cut down on the total amount of material, but released another near final version publically than fractured the content In the tired world of BG2 it's probably the better idea.
  21. Okay, done the flirts, including the weird one that started with calling him a whore-son, and ended with a discussion of marriage. Once I have a chance to upload the lot and comb it down prior to sending it to the editor, I'll post a couple of teasers.

  23. Hi, folks, since I added the store for Mother Keys, I will need a few more lines proof-read before I voice them. Could someone take a quick look? It's about half a page.
  24. Got my husband to alpha test the area for me, and yeah, I will have to do a store, as opposite to a 'free for all' stuff in the containers in the treasury. With the item flood in NWN2 it just doesn't work. I guess, it means that I will have to voice more Mother Key's lines. Oh, horror!
