    Party advice?

For a male PC who wants to see the absolute maximum of content I will advise to take all the romances along: Salomeya, Jaemal, Peony, plus some of the 'romance conflicts', ie Hildury (for a half-orc), Prachi (anyone), Rizdaer (anyone). So, looking at your combination, I'll probably go with: thief/cleric character + Rizdaer, Prachi, Salomeya, Peony and Jaemal. If you find either Peony or Jaemal redundant, I will replace one of them with someone else; if you kick out Peony, Rizdaer's extrta content related to the romance is a gonner, so you can substitute him with someone else (ie Rizdaer-Peony for Nord-Hildury, for example). The 'original' core party was Nord, Hildury, Jaemal, Salomeya and Nikosh.
  2. I did a lot of writing for the last companion for this mod - Alianna - but didn't finish it. I am making my way through her romantic talk 1; it's not that she's difficult to write, it's that I didn't have enough time. I also scribbled a few lines for one of the comic relief characters - Mother Keys, the treasurer at the temple. Luckily, we've got the tools my husband needs to switch the dying battery in my Palm, so with luck I will have something that runs for more than 10 minutes pretty soon. Also some stuff that you won't be able to see per se, but rather hear in the game was done: I've got a bunch of kind folk recording the random sets for the first area for me, and the full set for the first quest giver. I even managed to code and integrate a few of these random chars.
  3. To the best of my knowledge all the areas are now in and linked. I am starting to fill in the first big area with the scenery NPCs and the companions, and code the random dialogues. And, there is some stirring on the voicing front - the very first lines tried out and like the whole of five are actually integrated into the mod My main voice acting task now is to find a few female voices to voice evil priestess and assassins in the temple of Bhaal and one male voice for the Primate of Bhaal, the evil, evil, evil priest. So, yep, if you think it could be cool, please give me a shout!
  4. Thank you, much appreciated! Luckily, there is not so much writing left. Alianna's twisted dialogues; the main romantic scene for all three romances; three comic encounters and the Outcomes. Wow, I might just start to see the light....
  5. Heya, folks! This time it's small file with all the characters' descriptions (I started placing the creatures into the area and it occured to me that I only have a darft!) and a small dialogue with a statue of Bhaal.
  6. So, after a couple of weeks of building my 24x24 area is done save for polishing up. The hoodoo area and the smaller stream that flows past the ruin of the Bhaalist Temple and cascades into the river are shown on the screenshots in the screenshot thread. Thanks to Phoenixus and Raith, the rest of the areas are pretty much done as well, I just need to do some wall decorating in my ruins, and add a few gory plot important details. Finally, in writing, I finished Elhan's main dialogue sequence, and started on my last companion - Alianna. Now, you might not remember the name, but it's given in ToB to Charname's mother. I am being a hypocrite with her story here, because I never liked the discrepancies between BG1 and ToB, but I am marrying the two stories for this module, making Alianna both a Gorion's lover (and a spy for the Deathstalkers) and a priestess of Bhaal. And, of course, she is a male romantic interest - just one of the twisted black humor bits that this littl' story is all about for me. I also did some misculaneous writing, such as Elhan's soundset, and a descriptions for a couple of extra lighter-side encounters. So, overoll, I think it goes very well.
  7. And one more major file is finished, so if someone is interested in proof-reading Elhan's sequence, please let me know!
  8. Oh, yes, sure. I am happy to work on the CMB and I am not immune to dropping unsolicited suggestions on Kivan, but the point is that my involvment is completely optional. Heh, most particulary when Kivan doesn't say anything, like interjections or other char's opinions and all that.
  9. Phoenixus of the Bio borads (of the Tragedy to Tragidor fame) whiped up one of the areas for me (A Temple Of Hanaly Celanil). In addition Raith from Bioboards is taking a stab at the ruins in the Forest of Mir for my last set of areas. Together with my continuing efforts at making a not too sucky Great Outdoor Area really moved the area making portion of the mod forward. Wrote the descriptions for each important character in the mod (20 total); and came up with the idea for one more, so I will have to add her. Oh, and I finally found my inner Elhan; one more general chat, and I can move to his romantic player-initiated chats with the PC.
  10. Heh, I think you will need to specify this in Jonathan's ReadMe etc, seeing how severe the punishment could be. And yep, Jastey, that double negative is pretty tricky. I will see what I can do to untangle that sentence.
  11. Well, it's fun stuff, and I might change things a tad for NWN2, if I ever get this far. Thank you for sharing your thoughts
  12. There is just not enough 'leads' in the romance to make a complex and logical ending for it. I toyed with Salomeya's redemption idea for the romance - but I could not really imagine redeemed Salomeya (though I had a very funny vision of Salomeya in a grey stole humbly helping in the Temple of Ilmater to the sharp-tongued beggars); I thought about the on and off grand passion after the ending of the game, but it felt like an artificial happy ending. I even thought about PC killing Salomeya, but I figured that would be too big of an event for an epilogue where PC has no say in it.
  13. Heya, thank you Heh, forget about playing with whiners, writing whiners is a tad depressing as well; comic characters have to be there to keep on going!
  14. High WIS or INT score in romance open a few extra options where you can put Salomeya off-balance (mainly by openly and heartily laughing at her). As for rivalry, I always intended Salomeya to be a rival for Jaemal's affection, with the PC winning; but I know it's not universal
  15. Gameplay itself, ie game mechaniques I think is good actually. As for making the story less monotonous, well, I am thinking about it Cheers!
  16. And here I thought nobody liked Jaemal. Go figure.
  17. Maybe some comfy flirts, such as sitting on his laps and curling against his chest? Also, for comic value, maybe some wifey flirts, like dusting off the cloak or scolding him for not wearing enough padding under his helmet Maybe a flirt where PC looks at/plays with hers or his engagement ring (from my experience it take a while to actually get used to wearing one)(Okay where was I when I was writing Diriel's flirts?)
  18. Oh, this is great news! In my opinion each game calls for its own specific cast, and it will be awsome to see you work with your own characters at last
  19. I am glad you liked it So which NPCs did you end up with for IWD1 section?
  20. Thanks. I hope you are not going to come after me with something blunt and heavy after you played through it!
  21. Right you are It should be 'male' I can't edit it though. Heh, hopefully people will figure out what's up. Have fun playing! Edit: Thanks, Cam!
  22. Heh, a bit early for the female players, I think, but here we go, now that all the principal romances are in, please, feedback away!
  23. Well, I finished Nyalee's file and started on Elhan's. Also, almost finished Saemon's soundset lines (it seems that every next game has more and more lines to write for those, argh....) I tried to start building, but our system is having some so far undiagnosed problem resulting in the C drive being 'broken' every day so I can't really do much untill the root of the problem is determined and it's fixed. So, I am mainly writting, and there is a lot to write, heh.
