    IWD2NPC FAQ

Yeah, I remember the talk about that project as well. Well, for me, while BG2 conversion fixes dialogue limitation - which is a welcome thing- it will nuke the best part of IWD2 (apart from its modding potential, lol), ie a *good* implementation of 3ED (not NWN1 style, lol). But yes, for IWD1, it will be a step up. Plus, I think, ther eis a merit in the idea that this is your party, that's it. You are cut away from the rest of the world, and must sink or swim. Not that I didn't dearly want to add a Luskan section with recruitment stuff into IWD2 I am only now starting to see how 3ED is giving a huge bust to dialogues development - I used it very sparingly in IWD2NPC, but now working with NWN2, for plot points, and refinment of the conversational quest solutions, it's brilliant, simply brilliant. Well, brilliant *and* scary, since in the important dialogues require a lot of conversational alternatives. It's interesting and exhausting. Anyway, I know, I know, a new toy, but gods, do I love my new toys!
  2. I wanted to congratulated the team on the release of this mod. I think that it will create a more realistic romantic atmosphere in BG2. After all, how could you know that you found your true love if you did not dealt with romantic experiences at all. So, great job on filling in the vacuum and congrats on the release again!

    IWD2NPC FAQ

Personal preference; I love the gameplay in IWD2 - imo the best implementation of 3ED rules before NWN2, and I don't think I can play vanilla IWD1. I also liked IWD2 story and its modding potential much, much more than that of IWD1. Oh, and Vlad dabbles in transfering IWD1 into BG2, with his own NPCs, so it has been done to a degree already, and I wanted something completely uncharted. I don't see why. The game specifically states that there are two different parties. IWD1 is tackled by mercenaries from Eastheaven; IWD2 - by Luskaners. There is also a significant lag in time between the two games, it's not like BG1 - BG2 and ToB, that directly follow one after another. So all the stories of my NPCs start at the beginning of IWD2. Whoever wants to do an IWD1NPC project, will need to come up with a different cast Out of sheer curiosity, what exactly makes people think that it would be spinning both dales? I thought the title was inambigous.
  5. Well, Casomyr is a decent sword, but if Lilacor joins in, I am afraid it'll stop being PG-13 very quick!!!
  6. Heh, I was thinking more for the 'not a nice guy' meaning
  7. I hope for a flirt with the word-play for a bastard sword for a paladin!!! Aside: YAY! A bastard sword prof! I *loved* those for years and everyone shies away from them.
  8. Tsujatha was written and produced by Team Sillara. I have no relation to Tsujatha mod at all
  9. And I decided to pin it, 'casue it would be a pity to lose it among the backlog of pages!
  10. Oh, gods, Jastey, one thing you should not worry about is that Ajantis romance would appear silly. You can spot that it is carefully and thoughtfully done with great love for the true ideal of paladinhood from three hundred paces
  11. Oh, it's no big deal. Drow males just tend to be shorter than their females, so >5' is taller than normal for them, but honestly, that's not a big deal. I mean Salvastore made Drizzt of a height with Cattie-Cheese in later books, when he started 2" shorter than her.
  12. Nah, Mal is tall, Riz is short.
  13. Lookie, a flirt... my favorite flirt (Okay, I also love the tracks in the snow one). I mean, sometimes, even flirtpacks are not quite so grueling to write....
  14. Woo-hoo! We've got fan-art! Oh, this is sweet, poor Mal
  15. I'm wondering if someone has an inner noble half-orc in them to get the set revoiced? I suppose either male or female harsh voice should be Okay, as I can play with the pitch a bit later on. Or, if you can match the voice in her current set, these lines are the only ones that need to be re-recorded: SAY 0x2d8 ~For goodness!~ [hild003] SAY 0x2dc ~Die villainy!~ [hild004] SAY 0x2e0 ~For righteousness!~ [hild005] SAY 0x2e4 ~Glory will be ours today!~ [hild006] SAY 0x2e8 ~Doom on our foes!~ [hild007]

Not likely but possible under 3 Edition, so, no exotic races do not have a different background.

    IWD2NPC FAQ

It's here: ie PC's will have a background, just like in BG1/2 your background is that you are a child of Bhaal raised in Candlekeep by a foster father, a sage named Gorion, with the girl Imoen for a friend. It does not preclude your PC being any kind of class or race, and will not overwrite your normal in-game biography, but will be added to your Journal during an early on dialogue. The background also leaves as much room for PC personality as possible. I needed the background so NPCs could target something about the PC, not just go at length about themselves. I suppose one can do more backgrounds and alter the character talks later on if desired (ie do what BoiWARE is trying to do in Dragon Age), but that's well beyond my planned scope of work. P.S: Salomeya means that you are paladin's child on that screenshot, not a paladin yourself. The wording was changed, she does not use paladinling any longer.
  18. Me too And I guess I should go attend to that part for now. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Diriel is not the only NPC people will like in the end Besides, if people feel strongly about Diriel, his interventions into the other romances will be that much more interesting.
  19. Oh, very possible. IWD2NPC is intended as a base for IWD2 modding, so any patch can be written to add whatever to any of the characters. My goal is to provide the solid ground. Though, to be honest, I think Diriel is one of those chars one has to see in the game to decide if they like him or not. I don't know just how easy it is to love him, but I am pretty certain it is easy to hate him. Besides, there are quite a few elven romances out there, and only one drow, and that not exactly drow, with all due hommage to Weimer as the father of modern IE modding.
  20. Besides the roots won't be showing quite so badly.... Seriously, though, dark-haired version is lovely as well, but if you guys don't mind, I'd go with the blond one as default, so there will be variety. Initially it was dark but good Jaemal vs blond but evil Diriel and all that
  21. And if you make one, I'm guessing there are a couple-three people around here who'd be curious to see how Riz'd look like dark-haired
  22. Actually, yeah, it's in a few interactions that he is dyeing his hair. I don't think that the color is ever mentioned, but I'm happy with the sandy one, Berelinde initially matched to the initial portrait's sunrise background. Any other color on a custom portrait should not cause any problems with the texts, so choose away
  23. I think Mrs.Cake was matching the original edit we had coloring-wise, so yep, it's a half-drow version of Rizdaer.
  24. Hmm, strange. Can you see it here?
  25. Heh, soon? And thank you for motivation!
