  1. You can't just stuff in bigger background pictures, since the coordinate system is tied to them. So yeah, without engine support, you're left to retouch at the original sizes.
  2. As far as I know, @Joneleth Irenicus is still at it. He already modified NearInfinity to make conversions easier and converted a bunch of stuff. It gets tricker once you get to animations.
  3. I doubt this is the case, I'd wager the stats are just too low.
  4. In bg1 there are several links between areas, so it could depend on which edge you started travelling from.
  5. Areas have several entrances though, even if you had access to the world map.
  6. - restoring the slot/scroll on failure is cheesy - what coordinates would you warp to? - I doubt it can be done without exe hacks
  7. That's pretty lame — means you can only use single-word tokens.
  8. You can only decrease the reputation in this game ... if none of the other temples allow for donations. Through dialog, only Tybald can make it worse, so what remains is the usual bad behaviour.
  9. Ah, so for things like the bg2 candlekeep dream fight, nothing to do with viewports.
  10. On a related note, does anyone know anything about actions in chase.ids? The description we have in IESDP is lacking — if they always caused a move, the viewport would be chaotic in combat. https://gibberlings3.github.io/iesdp/files/ids/bg2/chase.htm
  11. I doubt @plainab is still active, but it would be good to have a list of bugs and fixes in a central place, in case someone musters up the will to update the fixpack.
  12. Any suggestions? https://gemrb.org/Install.html#run-gemrb
  13. It would be the same if it was a mod, since you can't change files that don't exist.
  14. If you don't install gemrb first, you won't be able to find the files to modify ...
  15. Ok, so that also covers JumpToPoint, since it's not instant. Thanks! A bit convoluted, but could be worse.
  16. Thanks, added. I can confirm the first one, as Avenger added a note in 2012: "in ToB this is named 'nPCAreaViewed'".
  17. Thanks, amended the entry and linked here. Is this only relevant in SoD or also elsewhere?
  18. @kjeron bump, do you have any more info?
  19. Just a note to modders, I tested with the gate lich and unexpectedly, SpellCastOnMe([ANYONE],WIZARD_TRUE_SIGHT) doesn't match, not even on the first invocation. I haven't tested with the subspell, but perhaps that would work. Potentially something to address with the fixpack.
  20. Are you seriously asking if you should change gemrb files before installing it?
  21. For the final day of anniversary celebrations, we asked a few questions from Jaka "lynx" Kranjc. He is the current project maintainer, long time release manager, experimental modder and IESDP steward: https://gemrb.org/2020/08/29/interview-with-jaka-kranjc.html
  22. You can install it if you want, it just won't have an effect. Widescreen and IA/1pp work, but that's because of their data, not their exe changes. I don't know of any other mods that hack the program.
  23. GemRB doesn't affect the mod order. It doesn't touch any game files. Many ToBEx features are not needed or are included in GemRB, so yeah, no point in installing.
