It had a beginning, so it shall have an end. I'm "retiring". What I wanted to achieve is too much work for the result desired. The best bg experience for me will remain the 2nd or 3rd playthrough nearly 20 years ago. Thanks for the help to this point!

you could patch the relevant AREs to apply a spell after a timer/event. spell = cast on everyone except [PC], could probably just use a graphic-less Imprisonment timer = either X days after first visit, or something event-based like the bandit camp getting revealed

I appreciate your responses. Anyone know if 2.7 is likely a '22 release? Following the eefp stuff makes me think I'd be better off waiting till the dust settles once and for all.

My goodness. Is this in oBG, too? "Unnerfed grandmastery" is one of the oldest tweaks I remember, so it's bizarre/wellofcourseitis no one ever caught it.

I didn't mean to imply you meant that, only that one of the principles of modding here is definitely in the vein of don't break others' mods, which blocks off whole avenues of changes. -

After 20 years, I think we can afford a few mods that 100% don't get along with anything else. Multiple installs is no reason to stifle creativity. -

I'm not familiar with fantasy bounty hunting, but would going to a big city be safer for Charname after fleeing Candlekeep than wandering the wilderness? Seems like most of the problems with early access can solved with a few "chapter > 4" checks. -

I wish someone would model in a torch, not just as a weapon (blunt 1d3 + 1d3 fire dmg), but a way to burn off things like slime/molds. Maybe even a fear effect on susceptible CREs. It's such a basic adventuring tool, my disappointment at its absence continues. -

It'd be cool if you could import the Evard's Black Tentacles spell animation from NWN2 (?), give it a foot circle and 60% transparency, maybe attach some rising smoke to it, too. Spooky. -

I agree, but only if there are no substantially controversial inclusions. Probably related, but really the only ones seriously arguing either side of any particular issue are also the ones more than capable of tinkering with the install themselves to get their preferred version. Chefs arguing about when to add salt while cooking scrambled eggs while the customers just want a good breakfast. -
Many of these innates are only "spells" because there's no other way the engine can implement them. If there's no casting involved, I'd say it's not a spell.

So instead of land, you'd want a map that's a ship, unless this is for aquatic races only? I used to make maps for other games by just c&p whatever, but I think it's more difficult for IE.

[Discussion] Should Fixpack de-duplicate unique items?

I don't know who this fix is for. Is someone traumatized because there's more than one of a "unique" item? This isn't a typo, or wonky grammar. It's not the description not correctly describing the function of the item. Is there a cabal of librarians funding this topic? -
I was not clear so sorry for the well-intended effort, but you're doing this for an item that the CRE with the DEX AC to be ignored is wearing. I want this in a weapon or spell that is attacking him instead. Is there no way for an item/spell to set a token on a CRE that another item/spell can have differing effects on? All we have afaik is EFFs that can only use the different IDSs (EA, CLASS, etc).

I can't find a way to remove/negate a target's DEX bonus to AC. Is there any way to put a custom STAT check in the equipped effect of an item? I don't want to rely on scripts.

Resurrection used to (p&p) be a good way to kill undead. -
This is still about just the names/description of these items, and not about moving/removing "duplicates", aye? Keep in mind, lots of Name Brand products become labels for the generic over time: Kleenex > tissue, Band-Aid > bandage, Google > search, etc. Seems entirely plausible in the ludicrously magic dense Forgotten Realms that rings of 40% fire resistance would be referred to as Bautista's Passport.

Would it be too much trouble to have two categories at install time: Incontrovertible (which is probably 90% at the end of this discussion) and is installed by default, and -- I dunno -- an Opinions Differ category that the player can go through individually? Mods are about options, not dogma.
