  1. @subtledoctor

While we're on this Familiar subject, I would like T&B's familiars to be compatible with the familiar mod options from More Style for Mages.  (NPC Familiars, improved familiar thieving skills/casting ability, and customizable familiar names are the most notable things that T&B's familiars seem to be lacking.)

What would be involved in such a thing?

    Thankee!

  2. This is a prototype mod ordering I made for Project Infinity and EET, assembled today.  (I didn't expect choosing components to take over an hour, nor that hitting Refresh would clear ALL items already selected with no prompt!)

I say 'prototype' since I'm still learning how to use PI enough to install it.  It hasn't yet been tested, but it was heavily inspired by subtledoctor's aforementioned list.  To my present understanding, it follows the general format of other BG mod lists.

  3. Remember that mods take time to develop, test, and integrate into the game.  There are no official modding tools, but Near Infinity exists.  Having an absolute mod order for all EE or EET-compatible mods is a strong staring point so people new to installing tens or hundreds of mods can easily rely on this order then fill in the rest based on category and best guess.

  4. @Leeux What about a hybrid approach?  Use 'absolute order' for things that must or very much should be in a certain order, then frame the other mods around that.  You implied that with the mod categories, but some mods are so old/new/odd that a relative order is awkward.

We may need different load orders for EE versions, non-EE versions, BGT versions, and EET versions.  Since we're so mod-focused, I advise we focus first on an EET install order since that's probably what most people want nowadays.
