  1. By changing contingency and so on to innate abilities, can we still activate them with the same key commands as if they were spells?

Arcane Bloodline: Documentation for a previous T&B version made Divination spells Universal and gave Sorcerers 1 extra spell known per spell level (Identify, Invisibility, Dispel Magic, Minor Sequencer, True Seeing, Contingency, Spell Trigger, ?, Wish) to approximate Pathfinder's arcane bloodline.  I was looking forward to that.

  2. @Istfemer Thankee for clearly explaining this.

To clarify, bob_veng and perhaps others mentioned that PST-in-EET would likely work best narratively if The Nameless One is the Bhaalspawn.  Handling the rest of the interactions between Sword Coast and Planescape NPCs requires writing, planning, scripting, and more that others could better explain in the near-term.

As an aside, if PST is officially incorporated as an option into EET, Sigil would be handy to have as a place where modders could add extraplanar adventures, like to Greyhawk for ToEE.

  3. @subtledoctor EET: I acknowledge that EET is a mod, but I've seen it for so long as a platform that I mentally equated the EET installer, mod, and platform.  I've come from other modding communities where a person or a team built/maintained a platform for modding, like the PRC for Neverwinter Nights or the Circle of Eight mod pack for Temple of Elemental Evil and for a long time assumed I would be best off by using the EET installer.  I also became frustrated years ago (pre-EE) by trying to install a buncha BG2 mods manually, and the EET installer seemed like the best way to handle such a large number of mods.  Recent experiences have caused me to question my assumptions regarding the EET installer and associated media.

F&P Cleric Kits:  Based on my brief research, the EE BG games added certain Cleric kits like Priest of Tyr.  These didn't grant the F&P spheres spells as initially desired and expected, instead giving only the same spells as a no-kit Fighter/Cleric, a class/kit not meant for use with F&P in this situation.  The new F&P-specific single class Cleric kits, from my testing, properly assigned their sphere spells.

Weidu: I manually returned to the F&P setup and reran it to determine if manually running this would allow the Cleric kits to properly work.  At the time, this seemed like the best way to ensure F&P components installed properly.

Attention: I apologize if my approach toward explaining my situation and asking for help came across as unwelcome.  I really am trying to get things properly setup and appreciate your assistance, as well as the assistance of all others in the community!

@Jarinex I'd like your spreadsheet as well as guidance on how best to incorporate the other mods I intended to install into this heavily-modded EET game, including install order and optimal settings.

  4. The install order for our mods was assigned by EET.  Having done yet another mod installation, I noticed that the game isn't fully recognizing the new kits with my mod list.  A Cleric of Lathander, Helm, or Tempus has all the spells he should with the F&P spheres system, but other new kits didn't have their spell lists recognized.  (These Cleric kits is in the base game of BG2, which made me suspect such.)

However, Ur-Priest also installed with the relevant sphere spells.  I suspect other kits worked as well.

After EET finished on this install, I manually reinstalled the F&P Cleric kits and the installer automatically continued past just this mod and seemingly installed all mods that were chained to it afterward.

Finally, I'm confused as to why these things happened.  I expected that all Cleric kits would fail or work, but maybe only the EE-introduced kits (like Priest of Tyr) failed to be modded on this selective reinstall.  (I've not yet reinstalled Multiclass Clerics this way.  After backing up the current game files, that's next to test.  Currently, the stock Fighter/Cleric has only the basic spells and no deity-specific kits.)

  5. After reinstalling with a larger mod list, we found this notable bug with F&P:

NOT INSTALLED DUE TO ERRORS Multiclass Cleric kits (install AFTER all other kit mods!!)

    F:\BG2EE>
Install multiclass druids (Faith and Powers Multiclass Clerics (New)) was installed successfully.

Notice how Multiclass Clerics isn't installed last.  I paused the installation to tell you this:  We haven't played with this mod list yet.

EDIT: After making a Human Cleric of Tyr, we discovered there were no Sphere spells for him!  Is this casting system depending on Multiclass Clerics to work?

  6. After installing a much smaller list of EET mods, I noticed these things for Sor/Dru:

-No bonus spells from an arcane bloodline.

-Identify isn't learnable as a Sor spell via Spell Knowledge.

    -Arcane scrolls work.

    -Innate find familiar works.

-Mirror image is still level 3.

-Innate cantrips weren't available at level 1, but were available when starting a character in ToB.

  7. @subtledoctor Because I didn't realize my post was the last one on the fourth page in my view, I updated it with more info.  Still not sure why multiclass Fighter/Cleric kits didn't install, like Cleric of Helm.

EDIT: After installing a different set of mods, the multiclass Fighter/deity-specific Cleric kits are in!  Unsure what happened before.  (A standard Fighter/Cleric still has only the universal spells.)

  8. We made a Human Fighter/Cleric with the standard F&P spheres system and he was only able to, at level 1, cast cure light and bless.  Unlike our Sor/Dru, he didn't know any other spells of any level.  (At higher levels, he know only universal sphere spells.)  There was no option to choose multiclass Fighter/Clerics of a specific deity, but single classed Clerics could be.

    Intentional?

  9. Why do some spell icons like obscuring mist have a green border when being chosen by a Sor?

I also didn't see mage armor as learnable by our L1 Sor/Druid (Faiths & Powers/Tome & Blood).  Other spells were available though.

  10. EDIT
For a SorDru, here's how you learn Sor spells:

-Make your character in whatever campaign you wish.

-Activate the special ability "Initialize Sorcerer casting."

-Use the item "Spell Knowledge."  Choose a Sor spell to learn.  You learn one spell each time you activate this ability.

-Keep learning spells via Spell Knowledge until you're satisfied or until you can learn no more spells.

(This process should be explicitly mentioned in the manual.)

Our SorDru can't use arcane scrolls!
She knows magic missile and has two magic missile scrolls in her inventory.  She can't use them for whatever reason, even after initializing Sor casting.

Our SorDru may be missing class features!
Find familiar we made innate, but she can't use that.  She couldn't learn identify as a spell known but didn't know it automatically.  She had no  innate cantrips, though we selected them in the installer.  We included crafting, but at Druid1/Sor1 she can't craft any scrolls nor other items.  Hmm?

    Multiclass Spell List Qs
I noticed on a sample SorDru that mirror image becomes a level 3 spell for Sors despite it normally being a level 2.  Perhaps multiclass casters read from the other spell list or a dominant spell list instead of the proper spell list.  This seems unintentional.

    Original Message
Having barely played with this mod so far but having read some version of the documentation, do Sors get the arcane bloodline with one bonus spell known per spell level?  If so, how to activate this?  What about multiclass Sors?

For multiclass Sors, how to have them be able to prepare/learn/spontaneously cast spells?

Maybe we're missing something here, but the SumMon I scroll I found in Candlekeep, probably from the randomizer being active, has no icon and can't be used by the party's SorDru, nor could she use any arcane scroll.  (Spell Revisions and other mods are active.)  Huh?

    Thankee!

  11. My family and I are still curious as to why the ability score revisions (SBO) component of Scales of Balance has repeatedly failed to install when we were quite anticipating using that component.  This is the latest Weidu log set from my machine as I've posted elsewhere.  (I'm the one in charge of the installations and maintenance for us.)

    EET logs.
