  1. @ManekiNeko-89 thanks for advice but this is not so much a bug, it is more maybe flaw in design. Looking older posts on this topic I think that I even asked this question earlier and AstroBryGuy explained that it is time sensitive ( although I suspect this is changed somewhat, best way to bury Gorion it seems is to return to Candlekeep immediately but then you will miss that particular dialogue with Jaheira).

  2. Something obviously changed in newer versions of BG1 NPC project as I didn't had problems earlier with this. So, when you pick up Gorion's scroll from his body there is dialogue with Imoen. Depending on your answers you can bury him immediately or inform Gatekeeper and request funeral in Candlekeep. I usually rest near his body but not this time because of Rhialto the Wildmage in Ironman mode which spawns after your first outdoor rest. So I gone to FAI, recruited Khalid and Jaheira ( and got her Gorion's burial dialogue ) and then finished Joia's ring quest and rested. With the full party I came to Candlekeep but strangely you can't ask them for Gorion's burial.  Why is that? Looking in Gatekeeper dialogue I saw condition X#Gorion burried = 0 to initiate it but mine is on 2. Is this time sensitive? It makes no sense to me, as before I was able to rest two times and then come and request funeral without problems. If it is changed then it unnecessarily  complicates things, why is it important to come  back on day 1 instead of 2? And one small bug with Jaheira's greeting dialogue, it breaks prematurely before last line.

@Greenhorn and anyone who wants to update the mod for Tutu: please uninstall the component "Brage's Sword", replace the d-file inside bgqe/bragesword with the attached d-file and install the component again.

Thanks so much Jastey! Considering that BGQE is near the top of the installation there will be some work involved but nothing is too hard  for the bug free game. And if problems emerge I can always export my character and start anew...

  4. I have one small, aesthetic request. It seems out of place to me that my character dual wielding morning stars have flail animations for it. As I understand there is a component dealing with this, " Weapon Animation Tweaks". Unfortunately it changes beside avatar animation also inventory screen picture of morning stars to just plain mace and original morning stars are lost. Would it be possible then to just change avatar animation and left original morning star picture in inventory screen for this component?

Couple of quick questions--any other mods installed that may have changed the worldmap? Was this on a new game? Do you have TotSC installed?

    1. Yes, quite a few I'm afraid:

    2. Yes it was, although since then I had hard disk crash but I installed new Tutu installation just yesterday, I will see if this problem persist.

    3. Yes I do but for Tutu/original BG, also v. 215 for BGT but just optional components which deal with interparty banter, here is my WEIDU log if it helps:

I’m prepping an update, and need feedback. Most of the revised bards share the Enchanter specialist flag, but I’m making one that will share the Necromancer flag, and cast Necromancy spells instead of Illusion spells.

What to call this kit? Song & Silence has the Dirgesinger, Bardic Wonders I think has the Deathsinger. I was thinking... maybe the Elegist? Or Elegiast? Thoughts? Ideas?

Grief bringer, Death Herald... What?! I tried...

NimFurlwing and her dogs will be further south in the next version. Although bg1ub is way older it is easier to move the Furlwing encounter in this mod.

Thanks for update to 16.2 v. and fixing this issue Jastey, you are the best. :) Although I found it by the chance when checking https://github.com/Pocket-Plane-Group/bg1ub/releases, no word of it on " Infinity Engine Modding News" either.

@Greenhorn Since you already have NET framework 4.8 then yes. The official instructions require to run Install-WMF5.1.ps1 via elevated shell but this script only checks if you have correct NET and optionally PS 3.0 which you need to uninstall before installing PS 5.1. Did you receive an error trying to run Win7AndW2K8R2-KB3191566-x64.msi? Do you have run Windows Update and installed all updates?

BTW: The "Install and Configure WMF 5.1" link takes you directly to the official instructions how to install Powershell 5.1 - look at the "Installing WMF 5.1 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7" paragraph. It has very detailed instruction how to install it even when someone just installed clean copy of Windows 7. I doubt that I could add anything more to make such instructions easier to follow.

Well, problem was easy to solve actually, instead of all that manual mucking with   Install-WMF5.1.ps1 all I had to do was to run Win7AndW2K8R2-KB3191566-x64.msu and Powershell 5.1 was installed automatically it seems. "Scratch", not so obvious when you read instractions, at least to me. :D

Thank you for your support and I'm eagerly looking to explore Project Infinity!

@Greenhorn can you tell me which version you ended up using successfully?  I can take the old code and integrate it for pre-EE users.

BUT, be aware, I changed the code for a reason.  Specifically, in the Quickstride component, the old version adds a "change movement speed" effect every time you use or cancel the ability.  If you toggle it hundreds of times over the course of a game, that adds up to a LOT of effects on your character's .CRE file.  I have no idea what that will do to savegames, but it probably ranges from "okay, but not great" to "possibly causing problems when you are hundred of hours into a run."  That's not something I want to be putting into player's games, so I switched over to the new opcode that cancels an effect.  So the new version only ever puts zero effects or one effect on your character.

(And, I must insert the obligatory inveighing to suck it up and move to the EEs.  If you've waited this long, you can wait until they are on sale for pennies, and pick them up easy and cheap.  And they are a LOT better if you play modded games.  In 2014 I myself was making the argument to stay with the pre-EE games; in 2016 I was no longer making that argument but I still sympathized with it; but now, in 2020, IO don't think it is valid anymore.  Not trying to start a debate here, just adding my POV as a modder.)

Hey SD, thanks for answer and detailed explanation of your reasons and possible consequences for changing the opcode.

    My version was:

    Quote

    MIGHT_AND_GUILE/MIGHT_AND_GUILE.TP2~ #0 #220 // Revised Movement Bonuses (Quickstride): 3.8.12

although I think that opcode is still valid for couple of more newer versions. As for EE versus "old" argument it is not a matter of cost just preferences and nostalgia I'll admit. My experience with BG1 EE left me... well, disappointed somewhat and I never felt desire to try EE since then. I'm sure they advanced by leap and bounds since then and kudos and respect to all who are playing them ( even with "advanced" pathfinding :p) but I 'm of opinion that EE are modders dream, not players. Unbearable amount of lagging I can always fix with Bigg's biffing on BGT but not in the EE.

  10. I would be grateful for instruction on how to install Powershell 5.1 on Windows 7 64 bit. Current NET framework is 4.8 it seems and Powershell 2.0. Downloaded Win7AndW2K8R2-KB3191566-x64.ZIP from "Install and Configure WMF 5.1" link. Tried somehow to run it in Powershell without success. I searched internet for solution but there are many instances of that particular problem without clear solution. Must I  first install "Win7AndW2K8R2-KB3191566-x64" which was part of that ZIP file?

This is about 8 different mods in one, so I’m not sure which is causing you problems. The Readme states whether each component is dependent on EE v1.4 or EE v2.0, etc. (I do however see a couple components that have become EE-only, where the Readme has not bern updated to say so - Quickstride and Monk Fists.)

Yeah, I was thinking of Quickstride ability which is very nice feature ( among others) and installs perfectly fine in Tutu and BGT but uses EE opcode only. Unfortunate consequence of this is that it slows all "speedy" characters like barbarians and some custom kits but when you activate or deactivate it ( sorry, I forgot it ) there is CDT. I managed to find older versions which doesn't cause this problem. I imagine that it wouldn't be terribly inconvenient to keep old opcode for old games or at least stop allowing it for install on incompatible games.

  12. With all due ( and well deserved I might add ) respect to the author of this fine mod ( and many others besides ) I must point that this mod is currently only EE compatible due to the some opcodes which are EE specific and cause CTD in old, "classic" games. Some older versions are still compatible luckily but I think "readme" should be corrected to warn about this issue for players who might wish to try this mod on non EE games. It would spare them from couple of unpleasant surprises at the least...

It's called "EE Keeper", and google is a thing. Try it. Here's one. Given to me by the toddler.

Near Infinity can do this too, as can the DLTCEP. All the things, save game edits etc, but the interface is less or more janky as you get to know them.

Heh, you and your shady underground connections. Well, yes, thank you although I suspect EE keeper is for EE games and not for original TOB and BGT

Already got NI although I never used DLTCEP. Looks interesting though.

If anyone knows why Aurora spawns hordes of monsters in BG1 I'd be interested to hear.

Aurora adds some pretty neat items and smaller portion of it is available for BG1 game via Tutu and BGT. Most of it come from that cute gnome merchant in Nashkel  where she sells majority of them and upgrades others, similar like Cromwell. Unfortunately such items don't grow on trees and are usually guarded by monsters and some of these encounters can be tough for novice BG1 party especially when they are buffed with other monsters from other mods and random spawn points which spawn vampiric wolves to join the fun. ;)

  15. This was salvaged from ashes of my now deceased hard drive and Tutu installation on it:

    REMOVED

Don't know is it legal, morally proper (  helping fellow players in need isn't immoral in my book ) or whatever so grab it while you can.

And Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! :)

P.S. I fought the law and law won :p, in case anybody need link I will send it via PM.

What functionality are you looking for?

Basically anything which will help me to hunt out and fix bugs and mistakes which haunted ( and will probably continue ) all my installations so far. :p

There's also https://github.com/gemrb/iesh that comes with ieparse and ieview, to dump binary IE formats. The shell itself is useful for scripted exploration, for example if you want to know which area animations have this and that bit set without opening each one.

Thanks, I will check it out. Am I wrong in the assumption that it is meant only for GemRB games for now though?

P.S. I guess not, judging by README.
