  1. Hello Temnix, this mod doesn't work on Tutu. Tried couple of times with premade gnome m/t and custom half elven m/t. As soon as prologue is done I got CTD with this error:

    Quote

ASSERTION FAILED! Return Address: 0x4FF726 File: CGameEffect.cpp Line: 1536 Expression: FALSE Message: (null)

So this is only EE stuff it seems. And one humble request, it is getting harder to track your various mods, could you tag them with "Temnix" for example, please?

  2. Just couple of minor things to report. Barbarian broad sword which is bastard sword from Stone of Askavar mod ( SOAITM8) is not incorporated by this component. Also maybe it would be of some interest couple of problems I experienced with  first option, Rebalanced Weapon Proficiencies from Alter Weapon Proficiency System component which I used before and Weapon changes component from Item revision mod which I use now ( they both do essentially some very similar things). Both for some reason convert some mod scimitars into short swords and refuse to convert some Ninjatos to new category. Anthology tweaks and Item revisions are installed after all mods that add items of course.

  3. Looking various game items with SK I discovered curios thing regarding these two weapon categories. Many of them ( mostly upgraded versions but not exclusively ) have their original and 2 handed version but not 1 handed version converted from 2h. Examples are Purifier +5, Foebane +5, Hindo's Doom +4, Dak'kon's Zerth blade. Hindo's Doom +3 for example have all 3 versions. Not sure is this oversight, Tutu thing ( since most of these weapons I won't see in my game ) or deliberate design by authors.

This right here more or less sums up why I don't generally engage on this. Players don't care what she's done, just that she's helped them. That's not a condemnation of players, mind--exclusively prioritizing the ability to quickly pile mods on your game, even if dubiously sourced1, is a reasonable position. It just means that beating the drum endlessly about what the EE install tool actually does, while correct and justified, is a losing position as players write the whole thing off as "drama".

All those modders who put in thousands of hours and only asked for their work not to be mirrored or stolen are condemned equally because they lack "good will" or take it personally. I'll note, again, that Roxanne is still welcome here, and I'll reiterate it every time this comes up. She still sends me bug reports through Github, the only communication channel she's not abandoned, and I still fix them. I'd like her to come back, but I can only extend the invitation, not force her to accept it.

1 Last I bothered to check, there are about 56 G3 mods available through the EE install tool. Nine of them are the current, official releases. Another 26 are pulled from their official Github repos, but not the current stable versions. The remaining 21 are pulled from a private Dropbox or worse, e.g. Roxanne's version of Amber has been quietly added back, despite the authors already having a word about that.

A fair assessment of situation and strong opinion and stance from your side which I respect and agree without reservation. With one minor correction.

Not by me ( as average player ) as I understand  and empathize very well why perhaps they are not flattered by her approach regarding their work.

  5. Roxanne was ( and is ) one of the most able remaining modders left in this particular community. She helped me ( and many other players besides ) countless times so much so that you could rely on her almost to the degree of all round the clock tech support. I played her stuff and found good and bad sides to it, not everybody's cup of tea, definitely but not without merits too . I don't mind some things that bother other people but including other modders work without their consent is serious misstep ( not abandoned mods in one form or the other but maintained stuff still supported by their authors). Not because it bothers this and that player but because it represent particular modder's work in a light never envisioned or condoned by them and disrespect their work ( from the point of view of those authors). From that point things got worse. I was sorry to see her go after her jig was up ( and by all ugly things which followed) but when you make misstep ( or serious error in judgment ) you are bound to slip and fall. As for Balduran's seatower I indeed find her less guilty of two involved "authors" in that fiasco but again it was auto goal by her. I have this wishful thinking that old wrongs can be forgotten and forgiven, hatches buried  and some compromise reached for the good of all community because whether you like it or not she is talented and proficient modder. But it is not likely.  There is no good will from either side truthfully and things become more... personal.

  6. I've got this while I was  trying to install this version on easyTutu:

  7. That  "Weapon Proficiency Overhaul (WPO): Overall Overhaul"  ( and others, by the way ) looks really interesting and I'm eager to try it, but not on EE game. Let's make a quick summary:

    1. Said component can be installed if you have Tobex. Cool, checked.

    2. If you install it two other components come automatically with it in package,  components #121 (Weapon Category Combination) and #124 (Fighting Style Overhaul). BUT latter is tailored only for  EE 1.4+ so it will probably be skipped on let's say, Tutu. And if you want full benefits of this interesting idea it will be good to install Component 125: WPO: APR on Spec which is again made only for EE 1.4+.  Tobex and Bigg's tweaks have some similar options but unfortunately they will not be helpful in this particular case, right?

  8. Maybe that is true for Khalid but I doubt that Jaheira is that kind of person. ;) Tried second time also but then nobody said anything at all, maybe they were out of range. Strangely though, K&J were right next to my protagonist first time. Looked little through dialogue files, there is so many interjections, maybe it should be like that although I think that when I last played it last year everyone had something to say...

  9. @jastey maybe it will be of some interest to you that I didn't get all interjections from your "Nashkel monster" component from BGQE. Montaron's and Xzar's lines fired and went straight to Imoen's but Khalid and Jaheira were silent. Wasn't sure if that was bug but finding this and seeing your question in Modding tutorials I figured you should know...

  10. Maybe, maybe not. It depends whether this was cut by mod's authors deliberately or by oversight. It would be a shame to lose more of  those little interjections which additionally flesh out this and that character and bring more fun and life to the game.

You are free to disagree of course.
