Magic Circle Against Evil

PnP version of this spell can be used in both ways (aura-like, and fixed AoE). There would be a third use too, it can be used as a "trap" for summoned evil creatures, but it's quite weak when used this way (it simply prevents the creature from moving out of the AoE), and useless in theory as in BG gated demons should simply use Dimension Door/Teleport to escape (though the AI wouldn't be able to handle it).

... Anyway, while the "Trap" form of this spell may be interesting and perhaps doable (affecting gated demons's movement rate if they are within the spell's AoE, and/or making them "attracted" to an invisible creature at the center of the circle via wing buffet opcode), the fixed AoE version of this spell would be a pain imo.

Well, if you make the trap make them to have 100% magic failure and entangle them to the ground(without a chance to save)... you'll have a localized demon ready to rip apart anything that comes near it.

Aid

Aid spell doesn't provide the good amount of additional hit point in my game (sometimes only +3 or +4 with Viconia level 9) and it also could be nice to add appropriate icons to wearer's portrait.
Fixed, thanks. I can't assign it the portrait icon because for some reason such resource doesn't exist.

To V3 testers (or anyone who somehow already has V3 :p ):

I don't want to put pressure on anyone, but V3 will be released this friday, and packaged at least one day before it. Thus if you can spend some more time on testing it these few days and report me anything you might find I'll be glad, as I'd like to have a version as polished and bug free as possible.

Thanks for your help. :)

Demi,

I have not had any relevant issues playing with SR v3 Beta but I am surely not as observant as others here. The testing has been very limited though since I have a multiclassed caster only in my party and never went beyong lvl3 spells (both arcane and divine). Sorry for not being more helpful.

The following weapons, which imo are very useful, are missing from Enchanted Weapon's list:

-Wakizashi: the best off-hand weapon for katana masters when using IR

-Ninja-to: the best weapon for backstab when using IR

-Thrown dagger/axe and dart: there might be someone who need them :wink.gif

-Composite long/short bow: just for completeness

:p Ahh how refreshing: I'm told to play BG2 :p, if my wife would agree with that things would be easier ;) I'm going to play some tonight :D

Give the players 24 types of items (instead of 4) and they'll ask for 31! :) Anyway, I'm not sure about throwing axe/dagger/dart (I don't know why) but you're right about the two oriental swords. Adding the composite bows imo is quite unnecessary.

Anyway, this is really not a quick thing to do as it requires to create from scratch unique .itm files, find custom bams for them (the most time consuming thing), and modify the 2da file (well, this takes seconds :D ). I was "hoping" for quick fixes but let's see if I can handle it in time.

Chromatic Orb

It creates two spheres, but the text field only indicates one. I sent you a screendump.
Ahhh...this spell never ceases to surprise me. Now, I've found the issue, it's because I had to split the damage from the other effects (CO uses a lot of .spl files) and for some damn reason you can see the projectiles of both spells, even if they actually use the very same projectile! :p Now, I think the only solution is to create a custom invisible projectile with the same speed of the original one, and assign it to the various .spl files (white orb, red orb, ...), while keeping the original projectile only for the "damaging orb".

Harpers Call

Still have the abilityscore penalty, on purpose?
Shhh, don't talk about this exploit, people may not know about it yet. :p I forgot about this issue, I can fix it in two ways:

- remove the "feature" (quick and easy)

- make the spell affect only party members (the best solution, as long as the AI don't look for this spell, which should be unprobable)

False Dawn

For druids but not clerics? Sounds strange to me...
The Sun sphere belongs only to druids. The Morninglord of Lathander Kit should have it though.

:) If it's not too much for you (it's only cosmetic).

Lazy as I am I'd go for the first choice, but knowing you the last choice makes Harper's Call uniqe - and you might just prefer that. :D

Oh ok I didn't see it in the changelog.

Done! :D And I'm an idiot, it was easier than I thought, I just had re-arrange the whole shell system in a different way. :D

P.S Talking about your screenshot...you have an entire party with Stoneskin + Barkskin!! ;):p But how can Viconia be proteced by Stoneskin too?

Eh...I don't care much about this spell, but I'll probably try to keep the unique feature if I have the time for it.

Don't get me wrong, Morninglords SHOULD have it, but they don't as I would have to implement a sphere system a la DR. But the 'druid only' restriction is mentioned in the readme (I know nobody reads the readmes!).

RoEC & Gargoyle Boots.

Harper's Call

I don't care as well about this one. Guess the fact it works like Raise Dead and Jaheira doesn't have regular RD already makes it unique, without extra features.

So... you can kill enemies with it by casting few of them on them? Nice, it's like the Wail of the Banshee has nothing on this siren. :)
