Cacofiend
Hey. I'm currently playing with the following install order: 0. https://github.com/BGforgeNet/TobEx 1. https://www.gibberlings3.net/mods/fixes/bg2fixpack/ 2. https://github.com/GwendolyneFreddy/Infinity-Animations 3. https://github.com/SpellholdStudios/1pp 4. Delfosse's Font Mod 5. https://www.gibberlings3.net/mods/tools/widescreen/ (1024 * 576) 6. https://spellholdstudios.github.io/BG2_Improved_GUI/bg2improvedgui/documentation/readme.html 7. https://www.gibberlings3.net/mods/tweaks/tweaks/ 8. https://www.gibberlings3.net/mods/tweaks/levelonenpcs/ 9. https://github.com/abalabokhin/NWNForBG 10. https://github.com/SpellholdStudios/BP-BGT-Worldmap 11. https://github.com/SpellholdStudios/generalized_biffing (downgraded weidu to v246 to install) The game crashes when I go to the second level of Irenicus' dungeon. I enabled Logging On=1, but Baldur.err is still empty. Any idea what's causing it? WeiDU.log Edited October 26, 2023 by Cacofiend Quote Link to comment

Maybe even after the Generalized Biffing? (Not sure) Also, there is a compatibility problem with Generalized Biffing, Infinity Animations, and weidu v249. What you need to do: before installing Generalized Biffing, you need to remove all setup-modname.exes and weidu.exe from the game folder, and install Generalized Biffing with a setup-x.exe that is weidu v246. (Not sure) Shouldn't this come before BG2 Improved UI? Here's what the docs say: And since BG2 Improved UI has to go somewhere in the middle, before item/spell revisions, Widescreen mod also had to be early in the list. That's the logic I followed anyway. Quote Link to comment

Thanks, I already did install it with 246. My original post mentions it. Also, when I uninstall generalized biffing, the crash still happens. Nathan82
Hello, there should be a tobex.log (i think its that) file in your main \bgii - soa folder, that might give some information on the crash. Sorting the folder by date modified should, hopefully, show it at the top of the list. Whats happening exactly in terms of how, what, when, where? Quote Link to comment

I click on the portal to go to Irenicus' dungeon second level: The auto-save completes. Then Loading Area screen gets to about 20% and then both BG2 and TobEx close. No error in TobEx console, nor TobEx log. Quote Link to comment
skellytz
What are your Windows language settings? Did you change the language for non-Unicode programs as instructed in the Infinity Animations readme? Quote Link to comment

Is that any more needed as the new version of the files should all be assigned to the first 127 characters in the codepage... aka they no longer use the bad characters.. I too got triggered by this... but then I went to view the files, cause I saw the new github address.. Quote Link to comment

Hi Jastey, can you expand on this? I usually use both. Quote Link to comment

This is all over the place actually... it came from one of the weidu updates.. it's here, there, and elsewhere. It's so called well known bug. But it only affects the old game, as you don't need to do that to the EE games, as it has no effect in the EE engine. Edited October 27, 2023 by Jarno Mikkola Quote Link to comment

I too got triggered by this... I'm using the latest 5.1.1 and it turned out to be the culprit after I uninstalled mods one by one. Changed non-utf codepage to English, reinstalled IA, biffed it all up, changed codepage back to my native one and the game doesn't crash. Going to do a full install of all the other mods now, but I suspect it'll be fine. Quote Link to comment
