  1. Progress has been made! Yay! I think you'll find that the process of doing Aerie's conflicts will help make Anomen's go faster. The perspective is different, but a lot of the material will cover the same ground. Or not. Your love triangle has just acquired an extra side. If the pc is female and Anomen and Aklon are both competing for her attention, and Aerie is competing with the PC for Aklon's attention, it sounds like you've got a good line-up for the Jerry Springer show. Unfortunately, Anomen is also 3 people wrapped up in one uptight, sexually repressed bundle: Anomen Delryn, son of Lord Cor Delryn; Anomen, late of the Order of the Radiant Heart and recent convert to the whims of chaotic neutrality; and Sir Anomen, Knight of the Order of the Radiant Heart. You're going to have to account for all three. I imagine Aklon would have more trouble with CN Anomen than with Anomen Delryn or with Sir Anomen. But for all that, will it really matter? CN Anomen doesn't act all that different than LN Anomen or even LG Anomen. Except with regards to members of the Order and with Aerie... Back to paragraph 3. Suppose the pc has just chosen Aklon over Anomen and Aklon has just chosen the pc over Aerie. What is going to happen when Anomen and Aerie come to blows after Anomen's ejection from the Order? Sorry, I've been wrestling with one of the heavier LTs all evening, and am in an odd frame of mind.
  2. @Kulyok: I know what you are talking about. Gavin's interaction in FW3500 uses different part of the area, is extremely minor, and will be over with before Xan's quest begins.
  3. Oh, all right. It is more important to reduce conflict between mods than it is to keep quest locations secret. Modder: berelinde Preferred forum: G3 Mod: Gavin - BG Tutu NPC Contact: PM or email through G3 Areas: FW3400 main NPC placement FW3307 minor NPC placement FW3500 FW3700 FW3337 FW3338 FW3319 Gavin's old house in Beregost: interjection to NPC as well FW1007 Gavin's family home in Ulgoth's beard 2 npcs added
  4. If someone were to read what I wrote, they're digging in the wrong spot. I lied. But it proves a point.
  5. The only thing that gives me pause about posting area reservations is that anyone who pleases can view this list. For example, House 16 in Beregost was Gavin's old house, he makes a comment if you go in it, and that's about it. Now there's an actor in there who says that with the iron shortage the only work he can find is cleaning houses. All Gavin does is interject into that guys dialog. No big deal who knows about that. But suppose the quest was meant to happen there. I wouldn't want someone to miss half the quest, or complete it before they even were assigned it by just looking it up and consoling in. I like the idea that there is a random chance you could stumble across it, if you raid every house in town on your first trip through, so I don't want to add conditions like the creatures will only spawn after chapter 4, or if Gavin is in the party, or anything like that. Is there some way we can get this up on a protected forum, or on Wiki, which is at least inconvenient enough to deter the casual looker.
  6. I always wondered about why the love interest would be abducted instead of Player 2, who has stood by the PC through thick and thin, presumably forever. Pity there is no way to assign a DV to PLayer 2.
  7. If Amber is romancing Player 2, I'm guessing that the answer to that question is "no." Bodhi gets her kicks torturing the Bhaalspawn. This means abducting her committed partner. Player 2 isn't a Bhaalspawn, so Bodhi would gain nothing by kidnapping Amber. I would imagine, though, that if Amber were romancing player 1, and the relationship were sufficiently advanced, the abduction would happen normally.
  8. I don't think Aklon dislikes Aerie, but I think there might be a few people here who don't care for her much. Not a big fan of NPC-bashing myself. After all, your least favorite NPC is bound to be someone else's favorite. Now *in-character* NPC dislike is another story. If there is a legitimate reason for one NPC to loathe and abhor another, so much the better, a *little* abuse would be appropriate. I could see Aklon getting along poorly with Edwin. Edwin thinks he is better than everyone else, and does not object to the idea of slavery. Aklon might have a hard time getting past that.
  9. I think it was deliberate, that the PC's refusal or acceptance of Anomen's intimate advances had no bearing on their commitment. As for the romance going committed first LT after passing the test, that's news to me! And inconvenient for you. I've got an idea, but I'll post in the German forum.
  10. I thought it was funny. Goofiness is entirely appropriate, sometimes.
  11. I have a new understanding about things that can delay progress. I have just spent the last 4 hours trying to find random series of letters/characters introduced into my J file by my kitten jumping on the keyboard while I was out of the room. Compiling with WeiDU has not hit any syntax errors on compilation, so I hope I found all of them, but I won't be sure until I print it out again and examine it character by character. Careful saving practices might have averted this, but I did not count on my cat going into WeeHaa mode in the 3 seconds my back was turned. An interesting insight into why things take longer than you think they should.
  12. Kudos to cmorgan and everyone who is involved in the technical aspects of this release. I don't mean to disrespect my fellow playtesters, but our job is a pleasant one: play a game we love. Oh, the horrors! Hunting down and squashing all those bugs is something else entirely. Cmorgan and all the rest, I salute your hard work and dedication. I'd like to buy you all a virtual beer.
  13. I know what will help: Get yourself a post office box that will take packages, and post the address to that post office box. We will all send you sweets and every delicacy we can imagine, and you will have nothing better to do than sit down to spend some quality time with Aklon (whom I will never refer to as Ak, Akky, or any other horrible nickname) and all the goodies we send to aid your concentration. I have two truly evil recipes for truffles. One is dark chocolate, the other white with pistachios. Do you think Akon would like them?
  14. If I may make a suggestion, play it twice! Or more. There's time. I'm having a lot of fun mixing it up, playing with characters I'd never tried before, mostly because they didn't make the cut for BG2. And yet, the fact is that one of my favorite NPCs (Xan) is already integrated seamlessly into BG2. Kivan is, too, from my understanding (although I have yet to try it). So I would not be afraid to try something new just because your favorite NPC never makes it to BG2 (Tiax doesn't count).
  15. You're going to miss a lot that way. That is the party you were intended to have when you started BG2. That much is clear. But there is so much more to experience. But, if you want to do it that way, I would play a paladin with a decent intelligence and romance Dynaheir with the BG1 NPC project Phase 3. It will be so different from your first time through. You'll wonder how you could have left the game sit on the shelf all this time.
