With that out of the way, I'm returning to my stated position of not arguing with you about me, or about my post.and there is absolutely nothing for me to apologise to him for.".

That's it! Sword or a pistol? :p Oh, your concern for my delicate feelings is quite touching. But I will respect your wish, I guess we already said our pieces.

There was another relevant post that I found in that thread from last year, while scrolling down to mine. My feelings about this EEFP thread remain entirely unchanged, but perhaps Greenhorn will appreciate it if I also quote his post from last year's thread:

It is not that I don't appreciate fine irony, especially as it perfectly highlights what self-assertive smart-ass you are and reinforces what I wrote in my previous post.

This is not a zero-sum game. If you are in fact right that I'm condescending, then that doesn't mean that your post was not. If you want to shoot the messenger, then you are welcome to do so (I'm not going to argue with you about me, or about my post), but even dead messengers sometimes carry worthwhile messages.

No, I'm not a king nor I wish to be, I'm republican in my outlook you see, as my reply to Andrea was not meant to be insulting in any way ( which was clearly marked out). If I spiced it with little humor my intention was not to be insulting in any way. Being offended on others behalf, seeing insult where there is none, calling others out of the blue and intentionally condescending is yours, now already well known royal prerogative.

His motto doesn't seem to make a ton of sense, though?

Oh, he probably got little defensive and didn't wished to look like idler. :D

But seriously, he just told that he is Guardian of Helm and then summarized  Helmite clergy dogma. I really don't want to sound condescending but what is here so hard to understand?

    Hello!

There is a string which I cannot really understand:

@28038  = ~I am Sir Donalus, Guardian of Helm. He also serves, who stands, waits, and watches carefully.~

    Anyone can shed some light?

    Introduction. Followed by Helm's motto.

No, not Heart of Winter alpha. I meant IWD1 and IWD2 for EET. And they are now available to play. But there should still be one mod that should combine the plot of the IWD with the plot of the EET. But it is quite large in volume and is not ready yet. Therefore, a small mod is now available that adds a character that sends to the IWD. But now there is no such fusion of plots that I plan.

The other two mods you mentioned I saw once. But a very long time ago. Will need to download again.

We are talking about this, right? https://arcanecoast.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=1247

Those two mods are available at TeamBG.CoM, I will gladly send you the links ( downloaded just today ) if you want.

No, I did not touch the characteristics of the original NPCs. But I have an idea to improve MR and similar effects with level up. But that will probably be in the future.

As for the description in the readme, as it will be in time, I will definitely check it. Thanks for pointing this out.

Actually, I was doing the Subraces when I converted the IWD2 for the EET. But then, for some reason, I decided to separate them into a separate mod.

You mean Heart of Winter alpha? I can't wait to try it, I hope there is english translation, I will check it out. And looking inside Subraces files, YAY, I found 2 new subraces. Take your time, of course, leisure times are limited when you are working and good mod takes much of it. You can look at those two mods I listed previously for additional info/inspiration if you like and I hope you will make snow half-elf subrace eventually some day. My snow half-elf F/M/T was coolest and most capable character I ever played. :kungfu::)

I didn't change the resistance etc. with standard NPCs. They add some abilities, such as Fairy Fire for Viconia, the display of the subrace in the Character Record, and the ability to check the subrace in scripts/dialogues.

That would be cool, as Viconia has 65% magic resistance in SoD and ToB and drow description from this mod gives flat 50% without 2% increase per level. If she gets adjustments from this mod to her stats and abilities and keeps her original MR that would be ideal ( for me).

This needs to be checked. Perhaps I made a mistake in the description. Because I took subraces from IWD2, and there, as far as I remember, when translating values from DnD3 to ADnD2.5, the value must be multiplied by 5 (in most cases).

Ah, so values are from IWD ( which I never played ) and 3rd edition D&D ( which I never read )? In any case I will install this mod and see although I wouldn't mind corrections to README when necessary when the time allows you, of course. Thank you for your explanations and answer.

    I'm guessing "+2" means +10%.

    No idea on the rest.

Well, this one is even better:

    Quote

Deep gnome Stonecunning : +2 racial bonus on Search checks +10 racial bonus on Hide checks, which improves to +20 in darkened areas underground

While 10%/20% in dark areas to Hide in the shadows skill is probable explanation for the former I can only make educated guesses. While I also thought at first that +2 is x2 elven 5% racial bonus on finding traps Ghostwise halfling Advantages: +5 Search traps (for thieves) left me wandering. "shrugs" I hope @tipun will be kind enough to answer this eventually when he drops by.

  10. Since I regularly used FinnJo's and Welverin's subrace mods ( often together) in classic games I guess I must try this mod for EE too. But I have few questions, from what I can see in README this mod changes Viconia, Baeloth and Haer'Dalis and this is not optional. So drow disadvantages will stack with Viconia's revamped mod disadvantages but that is not what worries me, in fact I like it. What concerns me however is that it will actually lower Viconia's magic resistance in SoD and Tob. And from I gather from README this mod will give Haer'Dalis 20% resistance to acid, cold and electrical damage while as Tiefling in SoA he already has:

    Quote

    50% cold resistance
    25% fire resistance
    25% electricity resistance
    15% physical.resistance

So this mod will actually make him weaker? Or it will stack? And while I'm sure that Darkvision is Infravision what exactly drow bonus of +2 Search traps means ( probably 2% bonus to that thieving skill)?

Pretty sure “More Style For Mages” has had this sort of thing since several years ago. (And, possibly, the Kit Tomes mod since a few years before that.) Letting people change their kit is… not exactly bleeding-edge stuff.

Credit where it is due Doc, thing is how Temnix implemented this feature. While MSfM indeed allowed conversion to specialist it only did so on following conditions:

    Quote

Each of the staffs can be further empowered, when its wielder reaches 250 000 XP in total, by clicking on a button "activate" in the item description screen.

Also, when you become a specialist this way, all spells from the forbidden school will be erased from your spell book, and all your memorized spells will be drained in the process.

which is kinda opposite from the idea of this mod. As for Kit Tomes tried it on the Tutu once and despite that mod description it is actually not compatible with it. I like the idea of moderate XP penalty for switching instead of flat change without consequences though. And if you choose "quest" option ( which I would probably do ) you must wait until you actually find the tome which is no concern here.

P.S. I mean solve the quest which awards said Tome, which I have no idea what it is.

I always thought that this farmer was talking about the bandits, which camp is in the wood and not too far from the bridge.

I believe he was talking about Shilo-Chen's ogres. Go figure. Who were placed to different places in different versions of BG1UB. Not every addition by UB had quest tied meaning. Some characters are purely scenery.

I agree, but only if there are no substantially controversial inclusions.

Probably related, but really the only ones seriously arguing either side of any particular issue are also the ones more than capable of tinkering with the install themselves to get their preferred version. Chefs arguing about when to add salt while cooking scrambled eggs while the customers just want a good breakfast.

Oh, you, YOU! Good one. 🤣 Discussion is the good thing. :)

    Why?

Let us imagine following situation Doc: what you call fix I call tweak. When I say you, it's figurative speech, not explicitly you, so please don't take this personally. Most of the things proposed by this mod sound reasonably without objection from any sane person. On the other hand there are some things proposed which I wouldn't install  under threat from gunpoint. We could settle this through OBC which is compromise which would let neither of us to be fully satisfied but as they say life is compromise. Or you could insist to stuff down my gullet every "fix" you deem appropriate. In that case I would spit it out, stomp my foot on it and say to hell with this mod, there are already ton of tweaks out there which have decency to call itself what they truly are, tweaks. If this is how we will play I'm more than happy to allow my game to remain... "broken".

I think that's me case. Feel free to argue, nitpick, curse my family for generations, whatever. But think about it, at least.

Wow, you truly believe in your cause. But let us hope it will not come to that ( underlined text). :p That being said, nope. I don't agree that EE FixPack should not have optional components. Discuss.

  16. 16 minutes ago, Jarno Mikkola said:

But that's OK, if one uses it to two different game, like it's intended. But as we talk about the EET, there's a need to install the BG1EEwith the Siege of the Dragon Spear DLC plus Modmerger, and the BG2EE... but after those steps, on just needs to install the EET ontop of the BG2EE and then install all the things on that... basically. Which then allows the complete uninstallation of the BG1EE game.

Oh look! On the third glance it seems that he intends to install Tweak Anthology two times again! But you know what old pal, maybe you are right. Only he knows for sure. As fun as it was I'm done. Good night. And stay.

  17. 9 minutes ago, Jarno Mikkola said:

...hmm, are you ... yes, you are saying he/she doesn't know that the EET exists ! You should thell tehm... not sorry for the tipies.

♪ Staay on these rooaads ♫. Oh on the second glance it seems he plans to install two copies of "bgee classic movies" too. We should warn him of that ! But seriously, great you are back. :)

  18. 13 minutes ago, Jarno Mikkola said:

Hmm. Meaning ? Cause it's actually about BGT-weidu and EET. BOTH. At least we hope no one uses the very old version of non-weidu BGT. Yes, read it again, and you can see that the original poster want to have both a BGT game and a EET game.

And yes, I was away and we'll see if I am back.

Ah, in that case I failed to warn him that he doesn't need two "convenient EE NPC" copies of the same mod. Entirely my fault. Silly me. MEA CULPA. :p

  19. I can't believe I skipped my supper for this but installed oBG1, Tobex, Fixpack and BGT with music. Works without problems. For original poster depending from were you got your ToB it may already be patched to v.26498 in which case patching is unnecessary. Phew, off to drink that bottle of white wine, I just need it after all this. :p
