Also would you mind emailing me those icons of yours ? Sure, just replace the gemrb.png files with what I send you. Changing them manually requires installing a seperate program. Also, you may need to respring once or twice to make the icons appear right. Or fully reboot your device. I ran into an issue, somehow I can't save with the game I installed via Itunes. I get access to folder denied although both games save folders have identical properties Hmm, make sure that both GemRB installs have the mobile [501] set as owner and you give all read/wwrite/execute privileges. Thats the only thing I can think of that is preventing you from saving. Link to comment

Joshua Posted August 22, 2011 Share Posted August 22, 2011 Spent some time on your wiki and came accross dev status. people should have a look there before posting bug reports (why looking at me ? ;-) However I feel like there should be a platform specific bug listing there (IOS, Android,...), but your call anyway. This is a round up of IOS bugs, specifically Ipad At least the one I faced so far playing both BG1 (BGT) and IWD How, some of them are on your Wiki already, or were acknwoledged as such in the forum. Some are minor but the rest is a real pain in the ass imo, spoiling the overall experience. Also I really wish someone would also test IWD2 and PST. Just a word first on my Ipad config. I have two instances of GemRB installed. One in '/Applications' pointing to BGT, I put the other one in '/private/var/mobile/Applications' pointing to IWD How. The latter GemRB has Cache, Plugins and Save folders right it in (It crashes otherwise) Game folders are in '/private/var/mobile' 1. Font size too small requiring a workaround, although it doesn't work consistently in IWD How 2. ever since Viconia joined my party, inital 2 rep decrease points keeps happening over and over, systematically balanced by an increase of same amount (BGT) 3. Smith in Beregost hit point reset to 0 (BG1) 4. gesture not working anymore after some time, rarely happening (BG1) 5. character sounds not going off (IWD How) 6. spellcasters taking too much time to release their spells (IWD How) 7. spellcasters releasing their spells after target is dead, maybe linked to previous point (IWD How) 8. character AI not working, although each character has a script assigned (IWD How) 9. Casting issues and such fall in the realm of GemRB specific (it is still a work in progress, after all). My poor fireballs turn my poor mages into kamikaze casters... The issue with 2 - 4 COULD be iOS specific, namely 2 being a maybe. 3 is mostly likely GemRB trying to compensate for the mods installed. As far as I know GemRB was designed to work with the unmodded, fully patched game data. Any mods are likely to create SOME issues. 4 would be something that is iOS specific, but a minor thing, really. It can be placed on the backburner of other issues. One of the issues I've found with IWD:HOW is creating a druid doesnt allow spell selection but lets me pick a favored enemy like a ranger? 0.o Confirmed it works normally on my PC. Link to comment
SyntaxError Posted August 23, 2011 Author Share Posted August 23, 2011 You should note that the iOS version of gemrb is built off code that is ahead of the binary distribution for windows so just because it works on windows doesn't mean it is an iOS bug. build the windows binary from the latest source and you will see the bugs. 1. not a bug. also the way text is done requires modification of game resources to increase size (unless somebody wants to add some sprite scaling code; also would look hideous) and we cannot distribute those resources legally. I keep telling people this. 2. not an iOS bug 3. not an iOS bug 4. need more info. some log messages from the time it stops working for example. or at least a method to reproduce. 5. need more info. if it is iOS specific i doubt i could fix it since i dont have those games. there is still that known listed issue about suspending gemrb and coming back so does this happen after that only? do character sounds never play at all? how do you reproduce? 6. not an iOS bug 7. not an iOS bug 8. not an iOS bug 9. But now the spell actually shows on the spellbook. No it doesn't and you need to trust me on this one Lynx But don't bother too much, I call it a MINOR bug and here's the workaround 1. if after learning a spell the game says "successfully copied" but it's a no show in the spellbook 2. then try again with another copy of the spell. Most of times it will say "spell already in book", and when it does, the first spell you tried to learn will actually show in the book Coming back to the AI issue, do you have slightest idea on what's going on ? I can't get GemRB to work with IWD How on PC for some reason. I wanted to test the difference. Link to comment
