Mod Compatibility List for EET

Recommended Posts

DSotSC is still indicated as beta on the list in the first entry.

Is this classification still necessary?

it is one of the first mods that was availble for EET and should be considered tested by now - no bugs were reported, I have been through it at least 3 times myself without issue.

Thanks for the link Roxanne, Had another question more for this thread I think - EET set up with BWS was telling me couldnt find SOD so I download BGEE/SOD from Beamdog and was fine after finding the folder but I noticed some of the mods that were on BGEE such as BP, solaufein etc were not coming up on EET any more...guessing its not compatible for the trilogy although if I take out SOD and had only BGEE/BG2EE then its ok? should I download them before/after?

That is more an error in BWS again (if your memory is correct) since BP or Solofein should never be on BGEE (Solaufein is a BG2 mod). And none of them are EET compatible. (refer to the first post of this thread). There is a new Solaufein mod you find on that list (Alpha status). On that list you also see that some mods install on BGEE prior EET and some on BG2EE after you installed EET - however if you use BWS then the tool will do all of this for you.

PS - to use EET you ALWAYS need SoD.

Thanks for the details Roxanne, cant seem to update BWS - turned off my user control and norton so unsure whats the issue. interested in some of BP encounters like poison encounter and with Sola, if I install after my BWS it could be incompatible then...

I have made a patch to make

Expanded Thief Stronghold mod

available for EET.

The mod adds some further quests to the thief stronghold in BG2 and imports Narlen and Black Lilly from the BG1 Shadow Thieves to Amn.

The original mod

http://www.shsforums.net/files/file/757-expanded-thief-stronghold/

needs to be patched with

GBThfKp_EET_Patch.rar

before installing in EET.

The patch includes

- All fixes from BWFixpack for the mod

- Updated portraits

- An option to select the improved Mae'Var component directly during install

- An option to make the stronghold available for any PC.

(Note - the two options existed in the mod but where not selectable in the install - you had to extract and overwrite files instead, I adjusted this to up-to-date practice as optional components.)

Reminds me that I should probably make a note somewhere prominent on that site to let people know that they have permission to do whatever they want with any of the old BG mods that I have.

Regards,
GB

1. Is this where you want to install your EET

C:\Program Files (x86)\Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Edition\Data\?

Installation within Program Files or Program Files (x86) is not recommended due to the potential for O/S related issues (e.g. UAC trouble). Unless you are sure that you have full UAC permissions consider moving BG:EE and BG2:EE outside this directory (the game is DRM free, so there are no problems with doing so).

2. Are you using the right version of DSotSC?

Dark Side of the Sword Coast BGT/EET edition vBETA or above (this is NOT version released for BG:EE)

If a component was skipped during the install, this indicates a conflict or dependency that's still missing in the BWS. Either a similar component is already installed and thus this message is harmless, or the component depends on a mod that's missing. If you don't want to continue after your analysis, you can stop the BiG World Setup now and resume from this point later.

Did you use latest BWS https://bitbucket.org/BigWorldSetup/bigworldsetup/get/master.zip?

Sandrah did not install at all because of the other missing mods (Dark Side of the Sword Coast and NTotSC for EET Interim Version. maybe more), this is therefore correct.

Why those others fail? You still try to install to C:\Program Files (x86)\

which always produces problems

Installation within Program Files or Program Files (x86) is not recommended due to the potential for O/S related issues (e.g. UAC trouble). Unless you are sure that you have full UAC permissions consider moving BG:EE and BG2:EE outside this directory (the game is DRM free, so there are no problems with doing so).

thanks guys, I thought I had the latest update but maybe not BigWorldSetup--bde56330dc72 is the one I used, when I follow the link above not the same...I also did install through C:\Program Files (x86) and guessing thats the reason then too and shouldve done under a different folder from beamdog then...

Got most of my mods so not sure if I should just try it out and save those mods above for my next playthrough as dont want to delete everything and restart the process...sucks some SCS components didnt install though.

stupid question but can I try installing it over again for the ones I missed or any easy workaround besides starting from scratch again?

If you use BWS, you can use the folder with the downloaded (unpacked) mods again. BWS finds them and only downloads what is missing - the may shorten the process significantly.

You can also move the download folder AND the files in it to anywhere you like. So first move the files, and then when you have the folder where you like, then run the BWS and relocate the Download folder when it asks where you like it to be. It's the same screen you define the games directory.
