  1. The latest build has been delayed due to a complete lack of inspiration on my behalf. The dialogue coding was getting to be a bit of a repetitive grind so I had to take a bit of a break. I'll be back in the saddle soon enough.
  2. Yeah, sorry. I always think the Del forum is a lot more active since most of what's going on is in the workroom--I forget the public forum can be neglected. So to second Bri, I only have two more love talks in the core track to code. Following that I have some interjections, floating love talks, and the quest to code.
  3. That's what Idobek is talking about--spells actually use the unidentified description slot as the one that appears in game. (It's actually better described as general rather than unidentified, but oh well.) The descripts would work with this: COPY ~NeJ2/spl/SPWI527.SPL~ ~override/SPWI527.SPL~ SAY NAME1 ~Xan's Eye Bite~ SAY NAME2 ~Xan's Eye Bite~ SAY UNIDENTIFIED_DESC ~Xan's Eye Bite (Enchantment/Charm)...~ edit: Idobek types faster.
  4. Did you add a column for your kit in WEAPPROF.2da? Hehe. Yeah, that's definitely a page from Anal Retentive Modding.
  5. Game files are actually stored in biff files--you'll only find them in the override folder if a mod or patch needs to override the original ones in the biffs with changes. To view the all files (whether still in the bifffs or in the override file), you'll need to use an editor such as Near Infinity or DLTCEP. I believe Infinity Explorer can also view files in biffs.
  6. Christ, I can't believe I haven't posted an entry since the beginning of August. I'm still alive and coding. I've been splitting time between Delainy and other projects (tweaks, CR, G3A, etc) so coding progress has been a bit slow. My folks were also in town which necessitated me playing tour guide for a weekm and then another week to recover from them. One of the problems of this being the first mod I started coding is that I'm constantly discovering bad code in the older stuff I've done, which has necessitated a lot of re-coding. WeiDU has also added a lot of nifty stuff which also makes me want to go back and tighten up the code--the new I_C_T2 would have been a bit more useful, say, six months ago. Nonetheless, progress is being made and the playtesters continue to find bugs for me to fix.
  7. Caedwyr has completed a new version of P&P Celestials. Added new Deva type, the Monadic Deva. It can only be summoned in The Longer Road's Elysium area. Updated summoning spell to take into account the BP mod. Updated to Weidu 163
  8. Andy has updated Sharpshooter to v3. Cam edit: Sharpshooter deprecated; it's now in Song & Silence.

  10. The Gibberlings Three was founded on September 18, 2003 as the Delainy Forum. Over the past year, the site, projects, and visitors coming to G3 have grown immensely, and we've had a lot of fun building a community with you. This mod was a collaborative effort of a lot of the resident G3 modders and marks not only a celebration of the past year but our gratitude to you for helping make G3 what it is today. This is a WeiDU mod for Baldur's Gate II that adds one long quest to the Shadows of Amn portion of the game. When we decided to put together an anniversary mod, we felt we should do something that would be, above all, fun to make and fun to play. Hence, as a starting point we settled on a semi-serious running joke of Grim Squeaker's that we should do a quest mod involving a pub crawl. To initiate the quest, go look for Drini in the Copper Coronet. Expect some fourth-wall breakage and some outright silliness, and keep your eyes open--you may even spot someone you know. This mod went from idea to release in the span of two weeks. While fun, it was also an intense and exhausting process. Idobek is still in fetal position and gibbering in the corner, and we've been trying to coax Andy down off the chandelier with cake. We're hoping they'll recover. Apologies to our Mac users--we're working on an OS X version and hope to have it released soon. At any rate, we hope it is as fun to play as it was to make. 18. Editing a CLAB will effect every creature that uses it, but to a limited degree. The engine definitely re-calculates CLAB effects when a creature joins the party, but I do not believe that it will recalculate Balthazar when you fight him. I haven't tested the latter part rigorously, but it has been my observation to this point. (For example, changing the CLAB files in Cleric Remix has no effect on clerics in the game; we need to adjust their memorized spells manually. However changing, say, Flame Blade will affect them as the spell is already in their memory and they'll access the updated spl/itm files when they cast it.) The monk class is semi-hardcoded. You won't find the spells to upgrade their fists in their CLAB file, but you can find the fist items--take a look at the MFIST[0-7] item files.
  19. The closest thing to a centralized db at the moment is IESDP. I've always felt it should be the keeper of the prefixes, as I consider them to be a modding resource. Not that I'm trying to dump more work on igi, of course...
  20. Just got mine today as well. Thanks a lot fellas!
  21. Short of a scripting solution, you could try applying a spell via CLAB that uses a permanent Disable Button opcode (144). Alternatively, you could try removing all of their spells via CLAB, though we've had issues removing spell slots with Cleric Remix. A scripting solution would be a bit more work (and not nearly as elegant), but would likely offer a lot more methods to accomplish this.
  22. I'm an esteemed leader? When did this happen?
  23. Aug 7 My wife and I have completed our move to North Carolina. One of the cats, tramautized from 12 hours in his carrier for the flight out, has decided to live on top the fridge and glare at us until, apparently, the end of time. This was after he decided to explore the fireplace and leave sooty paw prints all over the new place. We still need to unpack, get furniture, etc. but I should be able to resume work on the mod soon.
  24. Parts 2-4 are now translated as well. I should say that it was not just Mathrim, but the D'Oghmatiques translation team. Thanks again! French translations: Part One Part Two Part Three Part Four
