spanyam
It is, check here for more details. Oh that's great to know. So I just select SR and SCS, and it takes care of it huh. Cool Link to comment
Prof Errata
Well…I’ve posted this anomaly about the non-installation of Stratagems_SR after SRv4beta14 the last week and nobody hasn’t given me a response - and the solution - until now; so is there a charitable person able to help me to resolve this annoying bug ? It’s perhaps a little problem easy to fix, but having not any knowledge in the IE system, I’m unable to do it myself… The links are always here, so put an eye on these and well give me a response please. Prof Errata
Dear spanyam, thank you for your response; no I’venot used BWS in order to install Stratagems_SR. NB: I’venot had any problem in order to install SR_v4beta14 Link to comment
spanyam
I'm just referring to this document here: http://www.shsforums.net/files/file/534-big-world-english/ Try installing component #60 of spell revisions after the Big Picture stuff, and then start your SCS_SR install. See if that works. Link to comment
johnny
Is it possible to remove ugly animation effect from some spells, for instance Spell Deflection, Mestil's Acid Sheath, etc? Link to comment

The problem is that I cannot replicate it. Looking at your Weidu, there seems to be an awful lot of mods that don't play nice. Try installing BG2 on a new folder, only install Fixpack, SR, SRforSCS, in this order, to rule these 2 out. For using such a huge number of mods try BWS tool, installing such mod ammount w/o it is hard work. Link to comment

DavidW
I'm hoping to release v31 of SCS in the next few weeks, and so I've been going through these scripting modifications. Many are straightforward fixes to errors in SCS v30, and others are clearly sensible given SR. But I have a residual list where I'm not sure about the rationale and haven't implemented on my local v31. I thought I'd list them here to see if Kreso or others can advise! (I'm unfamiliar enough with SR that it's probable I'm often missing something.) I'm not:ignoring Spell Turning/Deflection, since I think it will lead to lots of targeting of protected creatures when unprotected ones are available (though elsewhere in v31 I do pay some attention to the need to force them sometimes)avoiding checking for Slay before casting FoDtelling Anadramatis to cast Pierce Magic instead of Pierce Shield (he doesn't have it learned)letting Imix be subtle about spell turning. (Not everyone is perfect)worrying about SR school changes when the relevant specialist doesn't actually use the spell anywaydropping the saving throw check for the Wand of Paralysisdropping the pro/magic weapons check for touch attacksdropping the Mirror Image check for touch attacks and the Wand of Frostturning off the Stun check for Symbol of Stuncasting monster summoning as a long-term buff (that breaks the rules for what counts as a longterm buff)Using Mind Blank or Protection from the Elements, since I don't think anyone has it memorisedReplacing SI:Conjuration with SI:Abjuration in fighter-mage buffing (that routine already sometimes gives them SI:Abjuration)Memorising Summon Djinni, since we don't have scripting to cast itGiving Conjurers Wail of the Banshee, since it gets in the way of the thematic specialisationsGiving necromancers Bigby's crushing hand rather than PW: kill (ditto) Link to comment

To chip in on this (I'm having an awful case of flu and am spending my last holiday days in bed ) ignoring Spell Turning/Deflection, since I think it will lead to lots of targeting of protected creatures when unprotected ones are available (though elsewhere in v31 I do pay some attention to the need to force them sometimes) Seems fair enough I guess. avoiding checking for Slay before casting FoD Fine. letting Imix be subtle about spell turning. (Not everyone is perfect) Isn't he supposed to be a genius? Using Mind Blank or Protection from the Elements, since I don't think anyone has it memorised Replacing SI:Conjuration with SI:Abjuration in fighter-mage buffing (that routine already sometimes gives them SI:Abjuration) Mind Blank is supposed to be a very-long term buff (has the same duration as stoneskins, for example). Can u replace SI:Con with some other spell then (just not another SI)? Link to comment

But it's not currently being learned so far as I can see. (I cast Stoneskin even when it's not learned, because it has a 24-hour duration so it's plausibly cast before the last time the mage slept. That isn't possible for Mind Blank, which has an eight-hour duration.) It sounds like I should be including it in the defensive spells roster? Link to comment
Prof Errata
When a bug is detected, another one appears… After a long search - 15+ installs… - I’ve been able to detect the reason of the impossibility to install Stratagems_v30 in BG2: the mod Volcano Pack v2.0 (created by Baronius) which adds a merchant in ToB selling items and spells is the cause of this problem. This mod removed, now this problem is solved. Now having made a light install of BG2 (GOG version) - see the WeiDU.log below, sorry it’s in French but I hope you’ll understand it without difficulties - I’ve created an human Sorceress in a ToB session, giving more levels with the console in order to have more spells and new problems appears: 1 - when I launch the spell Monster Summoning IX (level 9), I’ve always a crash, and it’s not the first time I’ve this problem. After many attempts I summon with the console basilgsu.cre and the crash appears again; I wonder why, the file of this creature is present in the override folder; is this file bugged ? 2 - when the massacre against Illasera and hers no-hopers begins, the mage - zilmag01.cre - at the left cause a crash when he launch his first spells. Once retired from the override folder no crash this time.It seems he hasn’t MSIX in his spellbook…and yet… WeiDU.log Link to comment

SR makes Stoenskin 8 hours, nobody complained about not really being in the spellbook.... Yeah, Mind Blank is definitely a very valid defensive pick (immunity to all mind affects + all PW attacks). My gripe with wasting a slot on this is that 8th level slots are very important for AI offensively, and mages come super-buffed as it is. What it does do is allow them to avoid backstab+PW:Stun combo while they're neutral. Link to comment
