Caedwyr Posted February 18, 2004 Author Posted February 18, 2004 Hmm, it looks like the best quick and dirty approach to the PC is to not change their portrait at all. This would make sense from the PC's perspective anyways, since they may be able to see through the illusion on them self, or already have a strong self-image as to what they look like to themselves, and not as others see them. I think that argument could justify not changing the PC .
BevH Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 It's also done in Flirt Packs with Anomen's picture. It's a script that tells it to change the portrait to the new one then after a certain amount of time change it back. Hence the problem with changing the PCs portrait to drow and back again.
NiGHTMARE Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 Could the spell be assigned to any in-party character without the death variables used by Aerie or the other Bioware NPCs? Obviously mod NPCs would be affected too, but they wouldn't be compatible with this component anyway, would they?
CamDawg Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 Since the portrait change is a spell effect, I wonder if setting it to Instant/Limited would get it to restore the old portrait when the duration expired. I do like this idea; if we can get the portraits and solve the PC portrait problem it would be nice to implement.
CamDawg Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 NiGHTMARE slipped in a post. You could apply it generically with the PLAYER1 - PLAYER6 objects, but then you don't really have control over who gets what portrait.

Caedwyr Posted February 18, 2004 Author Posted February 18, 2004 Actually, if the PC is really worried about their portrait, then the player can just change it in game manually. It may be better not to even touch the PC, since changing the PC's picture may irritate some people.
khayman Posted May 8, 2004 Posted May 8, 2004 Okay folks, I was persuaded by Icelus to start working on drowified NPC portraits, so thank him for that. I have seen the ones posted by him, but I wasn`t satisfied with them, so I decided to infect all of them with the Avalon`s virus. Three have already been made, check them out here: Cernd: Anomen: Aerie: I`ll post the others after I`m done with them. The thing is that it takes an average time (Aerie took 4 hours, whereas Anomen only 1) so I can`t make them all in a single day. Anyhow I hope you like them.
Grim Squeaker Posted May 8, 2004 Posted May 8, 2004 Looking good. But correct me if I'm wrong but elves can't have facial hair can they? i.e. Anomen's beard has to go...
khayman Posted May 8, 2004 Posted May 8, 2004 I could try removing the beard, but I`m afraid of the results, heh. Let me try, though.
NiGHTMARE Posted May 8, 2004 Posted May 8, 2004 There's a beardless Anomen in the Flirt Packs over at Pocket Plane Group. You might want to base it on that.
Idobek Posted May 8, 2004 Posted May 8, 2004 It is Cliffette's version, I believe. Also available here: http://rydia.net/cliffetium/downloads/bg2stuff.html
khayman Posted May 8, 2004 Posted May 8, 2004 I might, but I might also end up NOT bothering with this, because I would also need to redraw Edwin and that, my friends, would be beyond my skills. What do you think about this poor bastard, though?
Caedwyr Posted May 8, 2004 Author Posted May 8, 2004 You may want to do something about his ears. Keldorn's don't show up, but Anomen's do, and they look quite human.
khayman Posted May 8, 2004 Posted May 8, 2004 If BevH doesn`t mind, I could borrow her version of Anomen-ears™.
