  1. Thing is, like said, you need to use the Near Infinity tool(latest here) to find the file, it's probably biffed in to an archive file called .bif the old version of this game used to read stuff when we had 16 MBs of ram to use, instead of todays 1028x amounts when the whole game fits to one 4th of your total RAM. Sounds a bit like old coding going bad. Reference is from here:
  2. I placed the comma there for a reason. The first part doesn't need to be there, as the second part takes care of the whole thing. Unless we are talking about very unlikely things like the character being very tired when they gain level 15, and even then it shouldn't have an effect as the tired thing only checks the fatigue level only so often. But any ways, the other modders need to find their way around this... is there a spot in DS or similar system that could be used ?
  3. Is this the fatigue effect, or ? Aka, which opcode do you use, so the others can have the infered code checked out.
  4. Well, there's the protagonist can die mod here. And Game over only on party dead. Among other places. And what you are asking cannot really be done.
  5. How about this, I'll state that there is no real races except that of a humans, and non-humans, and so your consept of race, the one you have probably taught to, is wrong, cause if you skip the few millimeters down from your skin, it's mostly red anyways. And the deeper you go, the bloodier it gets.. and the structures will generatically be then either one or the second one, depending on the genetical variant that can be measured with simple xy/xx chromosome test, and yes, there are other types of results for that, like xxy, and x, but those are still all humans. While some texts might say othervise. But texts are for base knowledge, not the actual circumstances, or rather if infered as such, cause you can take the text as is and in so doing misread that hunams can only have 23 pairs of chromosomes. When, you are wrong and I show it to you , you might want to not take it as such, yourself. But then again, we have this old relationship, so why turn it around. Thanks, now, take my words sincerely, they are meant as such.
  6. Holy cow, that's some internalized racism. Ahh, well, I think this tells about you more than about me. See, I live in a town that produces things, and as such, we don't choose our people, they choose to live here and I have a lot of neighbors that are various groups of ethnicities. Yes, in Finland, in the year 2022. The "white as the driven snow", doesn't really make sense, I would take a picture, but you know when you wake up at 7PM, and there's kinda darks outside, when the day normally has about 3 hours of light. So yeah, I won't bother.
  7. And if you feel truly heroic you go on all out and use the bardic reputation tweak a few times, it's part of the Tweaks Anthology.
  8. Sorry to say, but it hasn't been thoroughly enough said why it's so ? You know, if for example Elves would today open up a portal and enter our world, have "magic" and interact, the monkey would likely not still pass as a human, even for them. There I said all the invisible hints you will not be able to detect if you aren't thoughtful enough. Care to response ?
  9. Now, I was not suggesting that a drow could never pass as a regular elf if they made the effort to try, they have this thing a called magic. But that it is unlikely to pass if it's taken to an extream, like asking to take a drow without the skintone, and hairtone adjustment in rp. And even then, it can be kinda guestionable. Yes, they can also cloth up and pass as a stanger, but those measures have their end at a point. And that point can be very bad, as in a ran through blades point. There's even a psychological term for this, %&/ panic... it's a dark subject and I won't be linking a video about it here. Feel free to as via PM.
  10. Done. Moderators are encouraged to moderate and cut stuff here if they want to, or lock this down, but I have my piece to say. Here's the jist of this, somebody suggested this. And here we are, quoting the other thread then: Ouh how wron... My choise of imagery was a chimp, in human cloths. What subtledoctor doesn't realize is that the chimp is likely the closes of the todays monkeys to us, the humans. And by my calculations there's about million mothers between each of us and the chimp. Give or take. The figure coming from the likely separation event 7 or so million years ago. Give or take. 'K, so how does this relate to the "mythical blue-skinned fairies", which is actually a reference to the drow elf called Drizzt Do'Urden that I brought up, kinda, which could be a repesentative of any of these: a Black Person, a Man, a Wrong Religion Representative, a Criminal, a Refugee, Gay, Lower Class Citizen, Military Convict, Thief, Terrorist™. Or any and most of them. What one might not understand is that stories can have other purposes than just tell a good story, it's also to widen the listeners mind, and maybe allow them to project themselves onto the protagonists world and in so doing, also notice what you might want to avoid in your own daily life. But that's just the cynic in me. Point made. Counter arguments ?
  11. The last time I read a book about the Forgotten Realms, the drow primary character was portrayed as darks skinned elf with white hair and teeth, not some non distinct colored elf that could easily be misidentified as anything else than a second class citizen, no wait a drow, as he escaped from a bad place, and while on surface, he was always looked with suspicion, by everyone else except his "found family". PS; it's not just race that's being talked here, but other differencies as well. Religion, Sexuality, the high and mighty Social Class, to name just a few. Now, that's more true to some than others, but I can try to empathize. I would say that that never happened to me, but I can say I was ¤&/&/ lucky that it didn't, but that was likely because where I live, and on the people that rule here, rather than what I ever did. And I can look other people with less of a suspicion because of it. See, it's usually two way street.
  12. Yeah, no. Got to ask you, does this pass as a human: "Yeah, no."
  13. Well, there's the whole IWDEE, that has the native Linux port, native resolution settings and scaling GUI, and zoom. So not really. And we are talking about the spacer/background objects between the GUI elements. Aka, it doesn't matter how many times you use it, it's just a border that can look funny if done wrong and has textures that cuts, but should look correct.
  14. The GUI won't scale, of course it won't, the assets stay the same, well except there is a few duplicants so the GUI looks like it goes everywhere it should. But you can set your resolution to be whatever you like it to be in fullscreen mode, unlike in the original where you only had 2 options which are bad in every resolution except the two they were set at. If you want to play in 3840x2160, then you choose to prepare to squint REALLY hard, but you can set it to that. Not so radical is to play in 1920x1080, or 1600x900(this is still really small actually, even on 65" TV). Realistically if you don't want to squint, you should go with one of there resolutions, depending on which type of monitor/display_device you have, but so it won't need to strech the picture in one direction, while being able to still see the pixels, as the game is intended to be able to see them from the dozens neighboring ones, s othe important bit is the monitors display ratio: And in case it's not clear, if you want to see the GUI bigger/better, you lower the resolution. Cause it doesn't scale. This mod was originally intended to be used in cases like mine; 24" monitor and 1920x1080 mode, that was about 0.75 meters away from the user.
  15. No. The mod uses the BG2 icons to bring the old not unique looking items to be identifiable from each others, so it's indeed a IWD section. I noticed this when looking at the "Hold Fast (Long Sword +1 duplicate)" ... that icon is used in BG2, with the +3 Longsword, called Equalizer, that you bring in 3 pieces to the drawf smith and he makes it into a one weapon. But as it's not used in IWD, it fits there fine.
  16. No. It's because, like already said, the DLC merger is for BG1EE+SoD, not for BG2EE. Now, you would need the DLCmerger for BG2EE, if you also had the game mentioned and you intended to install the EET, but there again, you need it for the other game(BG1EE+SoD), so you can import that games data to the BG2EE game...
  17. It's probably not too late. The reason being that there are no dependencies between changing a characters class and kit that the game looks... other than maybe a quest assumes a character is this class and not it's that class. If anything you will likely want to make this change after most mods.. but there it's rather a "what do you exactly want ?" Rather than "This is the only way, or the game will explode".
  18. Yeah, and now it's better. After all, the Cyberpunk 2077 was a diamond quality, right from the get go. Right. But anyways, your comment othervise is correct. Good thing, it's not mine either. But anyways, you might want to know, like said already by CamDawg, the EE games today contain most of the quality of life improvement mods that the world made during the time the game was released and the EE games were re-released a couple of times. Yes, that's why teh EE games version name is v2.5..., and not v1.00. So you don't really need any of the mods talked about here, unless you are about to play itr another time and know what is not optimal for your experience. Do you need really hard tactical challenge, sure there's a mod for that. Do you need more quests ? NPCs ? etc. Sure, let's pile you with 500++ mod easily.
  19. It's not really complicated, but rather it is that this is an approved change to the original game in the EE version. The change coming from the fact that the EE games come with the officially approved and intergrated One Pixel Production mod and others... that had art to add in to the game. You can use near infinity to change this, you just load it up, go into the item, and find the paperdoll index, and change the file reference. Save and exit... and load a game where you have not visited the area where the item is found and get it, it will then be the updated one. Or just toss the old one away and console the current one via the in-game-console.
  20. So what does it look like ? -prt sc in -game, then exit the game, open up MS Paint, and ctrl + V, then save the paint file, and cut the portion you want to show, to minimize the extra, and upload the picture to a google result of "picture upload" -search, then copy the direct link and check that the link shows the .jpg file, and then post that link in the forum's "Other Media" link. Aka, does it look like: That's the vanilla (EE) game one.
  21. And it's also definitely CRUCIAL to get right want they don't want to include. And that involves knowing what those mods do in more than a simple level and there we go into quite deep in your previous statement that a player want all teh modz. But reall,y needs to wake up and smell the cooking cabbages of that statement. This statement is kinda bad ... or rather revealing. It's a stement of ignorance in so much as you don't have a clue about the original state of the original game... or rather the EE versions of the game and so... My advice is this. Play the vanilla BG1EE ... that's it. All you need form now, until you have finished the game, at least one time.
  22. But I thing the problem is that it doesn't show any components. What kind of game is this in by the way, is this BG1EE + Siege of the Dragondspear DLC'ed game, in that case you need to install the DLCmerger to be able to modify the game.
