Hi, love your mod! For some reason after installing your mod I don't have triple class F/M/C available as a class selection... is that by design?

Yes. You don’t get spells unless you select a deity (i.e. a kit), and we have no triple-class kits. I haven’t really been motivated to create any, because I’ve never played a triple-class character and dividing XP by 3 seems crazy to me. (Go into TOB at... 12th level?)

That said, feel free to pitch some ideas for triple-class kits. Deity, spheres, special abilities. With an idea sketched out it wouldn’t be difficult to add.

What does everyone recommend when it comes to the sphere system? Original or 2E? I tried to search the thread for any answers but couldn't find any.

The 2E system is somewhat incomplete, and lacks various newly added spells. Basically alpha quality. It’s a proof of concept - it shows how any player can tailor the system to their own preferences by editing a human-readable document. In its current state I only recommend playing with it if you are a real 2E purist.

If you don’t mind some liberties taken with the spheres (“Exploration” instead of “Travelers,” etc.) and the spells (some new spells, some spells moved to different spell levels, and some wizard spells available to priests), then you will enjoy the FnP sphere system much more. We put a lot of time and thought into making each the FnP spheres balanced - each is different from the others, but still full of capable and useful spells. The 2E system just hasn’t received the same amount of consideration; and being constrained to 2E material makes it harder to balance them.

Triple classes are SUPER versatile. The individual levels look bad, but its not as weak as it looks. Once you get past the level 1 hump in BG1, they also level very often throughout the rest of the series and the constant leveling is satisfying to me. They also get a lot of HLAs, since you're leveling so frequently.

As for a class kit, how about some kind of fighter/cleric/thief? Fighter/druid/thief would be amazing, but that a lot of spell copying to get them all in the arcane spellbook. It'd also take some way to prevent learning spells from scrolls.
I know I'm a broken record, but there could also be an adaptation of 1e bards. Functionally, they'd be fighter/thief/druid with bard lore and songs/auras. it was a triple dual class in Ie, so yeah, interpretation. Stats and requirements below. Some I tweaked to fit 2e and BG better, some I left as is with notes. Yes, I've thought about this a lot. I've even tried learning how to mod myself, but even the tutorials I can find is moon speak to me.

Spoiler

At the final dual, they can get points in club, dagger, dart, sling, scimitar, spear, staff, bastard sword, broad sword short sword and long sword.
Armor restricted to leather and chain.
D6 hit points.
Full access to thief skills. (there was a max level in 1e, so maybe a reduced rate of points.)
Druid saving throws. Get 1 proficiency point every 4 levels, starts with 5.
FIghter thaco progression. (level limit in 1e to fighter level 7. So that would be just spec I think.)
Druid spell progression. (the limit on it wouldn't be implementable in BG, but regular progression up level 12 druid and then didn't get more spells until 23. So, yeah...)
Neutral only on the chaos law axis. Good, evil, or neutral allowed.
I don't believe in race restriction, just give it to everyone 😛
They got fear protection, +1 attack rolls, and a counterspell to sound and magical sound attacks, each as a different aura. The counterspell required concentration. This would need some tweaking to be useful in late game BG.
Stat requirements: 15 minimum in Strength, Wisdom, Dexterity and Charisma. 12 minimum int, 10 minimum con. (Crazy, I know.)

So yeah, not really balanced, but a heck of a lot of fun and options. This is my dream class and getting it into BG is something I'd absolutely love.

I like mass improved haste & freedom of movement for the Exploration sphere.

I once played a D&D 3.x game with a fellow party member who was a Wizard/Cleric/Fighter (or a similar triple class) of Fharlangh with Profession: Guide.  I'm unsure how he was useful, but he was allowed to stay in the group.

What about Mystran Dweomerguards?  They seem like Fighter/Mage/Clerics.  (Dweomerguard meaning one who guards the Cleric/Wizard Dweomerkeepers.)

Also, from what I've heard, a character who starts at the EXP minimum in Shadows of Amn can do all vanilla quests in a party of 6 and reach the EXP cap by the end of chapter 4 or 5.  A solo character can reach the EXP cap sooner.

Upon reconsideration, OlvynSpells has some very fitting spells for the Exploration sphere and other spheres!  (Arcane Spells & Descriptions, Divine Spells & Descriptions, Innate HLAs & Descriptions)

For the Exploration sphere, these seem most fitting:

-Fly (Arcane 3)

-Recall Party (Arcane 3)

-Linked Portals (Arcane 4)

-Ethereal Jaunt (Arcane 5)

-Teleport Step (Arcane 9)

Glancing through some internet resources I see that Corellon Larethian is a major elven diety of several things including warfare and magic. He's the only one so far that could fit the bill for a Fighter/Mage/Cleric. Perhaps "Azureguard" or "Blue Warden"? Corellon's clerics wear silver circlets and gossamer robes of the brightest azure

Also could use the evil gnomish diety of urdlen for a Fighter/Cleric/Thief, also giving the chance to roleplay an evil gnome with correct racial diety. Could be called "Spawn of Urdlen".

I will keep thinking...

Worth stating very clearly: there is no fighter/cleric/thief in these games. The engine dies not permit it, and you need a hack on the level of GemRB to even think about it. I’ve done done work fitting one class into another class, but I don’t have time for that sort of thing now. I’m not going to start putting divine kits into the mage class... there are just too many complications to overcome, it would be TONS of time spent for a hacky, crappy result. So fighter/druid/thief and fighter/[cleric kit]/thief are not going to happen.

The only divine triple-class is fighter/mage/cleric, so that’s what is on the table. Mystra and Corellon sound like fine ideas... somebody write up a ~3-sentence kit description an proposed special abilities.

I’m sympathetic to the desire for a 1E-style bard, but the only reasonable formulation of it IMHO is to use the cleric/thief class... a variant of the druid/thief, essentially. Actually, to really achieve a 1E-style bard, it should be a dual-class. maybe something like, start as a fighter or thief, then dual to druid, and then at some point, if you fulfill various requirements, you can enable some bardic abilities, like MnG bard songs. The game doesn’t let you do triple duals, so this would result in two variants: a martial bard and a roguish bard.

Hi,

I my new game with SR, DR and FnP, the Feywarden of Corellon is only available as a fighter/Feywarden, and no more as a single class feywarden. Is it intentional?

Edit :

And I noticed the same with most of the Divine Remix kits ; most are no more available as single class, but only multi-class

Edit 2 14/10/20 :

After testing on a clear install with only DR and FnP, the issue doesn't occur. All DR kits are available as single class kit.
It might be another component from another mod.

@subtledoctor I'd take a cleric/thief 1e bard over nothing at all :D . Hopefully there would be a reasonable way to give the kit fighter levels of thaco and apr, at least up to a point.

The dual class is an interesting idea, but without going into a triple dual class (not possible sadly) I don't see a way to get enough of the class features to justify it. We already have a thief/cleric bard fit and a handful of fighter bards.

The Beast Lord's ability to summon wolves doesn't seem available at all. I tried installing the mod alone and it still wasn't present within his abilities.

P.S I'm playing BGEE v2.5.17.0 (latest version at the moment I wrote this comment) with no other mods installed.

Eee--- what are you talking about, there's no such thing said in the readme's description:

Quote

Beast Lord

BEAST LORD: these individuals have come to understand that within even the most rational and civilized man or woman lies an animal driven by primal needs and desires. (Often, this understanding is developed from horrifying experiments performed on subjects who are very rarely willing.) Through the application of a serum derived from a strain of lycanthropy, the Beast Lord can call forth <PRO_HISHER> own bestial nature, causing <PRO_HISHER> very body to take on lupine qualities. This also gives the Beast Lord a deep insight into magic relating to summoning and controlling animals.

Advantages:

  • May cast "Beast Claw" as an innate ability, at will.
  • 20% of all Beast Claw attacks cause infection upon a failed save vs. Death, weakening the target and causing a 10% chance of spell failure.
  • At 6th level, may shapeshift into a hybrid werewolf form once per day. This form increases in power to that of a greater werewolf at 12th level, and a werewolf lord at 18th level.
  • May allocate 2 points (++) to Single-Weapon Style.

Restrictions:

  • Alignment: May not be Lawful

Notes:

  • Sphere Access (original sphere system): Major: Minor: CONTINUE
  • Sphere Access (2e sphere system): Major: Minor: CONTINUE
  • Multiclass: CONTINUE
  • Equipment Use: Armor: Leather, Studded Leather Weapons(max ranks): Club(1), Staff(1), Hammer(1), Mace(1), Dagger(1), Short Sword(1), Dart(1), Sling(1), Crossbow(1)
  • Casting Default: CONTINUE

A lot of the other druids say they can summon stuff, but the Beast Lord seriously doesn't.
