Add a couple of Webs to your spell arsenal, that is all you have to do. Even a low level party can totally cheese out every Beholder zone. Web x3, cloudkills, fireballs = dead Beholders. Pretty sure you have Skull Trap, Incendiary Cloud and tons of summons against Hive Mother. Just let her waste her spell on summons (5xskellingtons, hasted is pure gold here). Use Project Image - you can have 10 skellingtons. Seriously, poor Hive Mother.....

Can't install RC9 on BG:EE. It says "not installed due to errors" and then "instant_prebuffspell.2da" something like that and rolling back. All AI and tactical components are not installed, in fact entire mod fails to install. RC8 installed fine, same mods.

No. Steam will update his game again at some point no matter what. There is no chance. Reinstall the game and all mods (must kinda update your mod list for 2.5, more for BG1ee than BG2ee but thats another story) or use GOG version 2.3 (mod list is very 2.3, I would strongly recommend gog 2.3 for use with these specific mods versions). ps. my personal opinion nobody wants: what a strange EET installation. In my opinion what is really forced here is a false assumption that now Baldurs Gate is one big game rather than three actually different games. BG are still three different games, especially SoD. It was always funny for me how completely out of place are goblin and doge spawn points in Windspear Hills and Temple Sewers in BG2 I mean this is the situation when you use ctrl+Y. If you play SCS with full party on hardest difficulty what is how I personally just love to play, you need all xp you can get for all your multiclassed Jans and Viconias in order to even stand a chance with Liches, Dragons and high level mages before Spellhold. If you play solo you can ofcourse achieve lvl 40 right after escaping Irenicus prison but there is no fun in that imo. Lowering xp is a bad idea: 1) If you love tactical content for reasons above 2) If you don't play for a challenge what's the difference if you are lvl 4, 14 or 40 ?? The same content, talks, romances. Really BG2 is a role playing game and rangers. We have Umar Hills, pretty nice area for rangers to do their ranger stuff. So we are there in Umar Hills, we took the quest from the Mayor, we are ranger and we are walking walking walking...and now we see a bear or tiger attacking the groundhog which is only natural, tiger needs to eat how the nature works all is ok to that point. But then after killing the rodent the tiger will start attacking the party because the game mechanics and he is wild animal. But we, rangers, are not wild animals. We are smart individuals who know our game mechanics and that we have that charm animal innate for a reason. So we use it on the tiger, calm him down and win. This kind of behavior is actually especially rewarding later when our party is challenging truly terrifying foe like Crooked Lich, Lavok or mutherfucking HLA enriched Tolgerias. What a nice feeling after we finally managed to win knowing that a couple of days earlier we spared some poor animal, like we are really there doing all that stuff, right Boo?

-4AC/Saves actually makes sense, whatever crazy it is. But it is really not that much offensive now when you can make your character a kensai/berserker/sorcererer/assassin. What difference it makes? Just make improved invisibility spell unavailable for fighter/mages - only sensible nerf in my opinion. Normal invisibility is more for utility/convenience than combat. Invisibility is especially useful now in SCS era against SCS thieves and their bloody backstab and nasty AI (I observed cases in my own game when Aerie/Yoshi/Jan/Viconia was backstabbed by two or three thieves at the same time). Now Keto is in my party and how I actually use her?(sry) I just cast invisibility on her, turn her AI off and just let her sing all the time and only sing basically. That is why I would prefer you just leave invisibility alone or make it optional component. Overall, in my opinion the best way/method for invisibility nerf is by adding "see invisible" ability to certain enemies not by nerfing invisibility itself. Dude, just cast stoneskin. uhmm...no.

I am totally ok with how it is made in vanilla game. Lets look from a little different perspective and look at Mazzy. Mazzy is a paladin, eh? Halfling pally. now, with all this tobex hacks implemented, you can make a halfling paladin yourself...but it is just pointless, compromises Mazzy as a character, doesn't make any sense, imho. Fukcing Khark, with combat prebuffing installed he is serious business. Should be nerfed a little, has too many apr or is improved hasted, should not be. He is like 50/100% stronger than a lot of BG2, modded included, monsters. Nimbul is a pushover (he can surprise you, but it's your fault, you should be ready for another assassin!). Bandit camp is ok. If you installed harder Nashkel mines and then you go there with lvl 1-2 party, well, you know what you are doing, eh? No. The problem with Khark is that he can two/three shot your lvl 7 tank in two seconds. His power is exactly the problem. Encounter was not designed with his new, improved, mod power in mind and is not a shitty game design, total opposite actually.

Haste and Improved Haste is hardcore stuff, say goodbye to your cheese.... Gameplay is so MUCH better thx to this. and true...illusion detect spells are kinda funky. Example: Spirit trolls are improved invisible all the time, can not target them with flame arrows etc. but I think Cernd has True Sight, not a problem. He casted True Sight and...nothing, Spirit Trolls still improved invisible. But Cenrd was actually able to cast Feerie Fire AOE spell and their imp invis. was dispelled. Ferie Fire is 1lvl spell and True Sight is 5lvl spell - WTF???
