I just experienced the same behavior as tomasz86 with Tarnesh.

Once he went through his Mirror Image/Horror/Magic Missile collection, he literally just stood there and did nothing.

Xzar went right up, engaged in melee, and chopped away with his dagger.

I am also experiencing this behaviour with all mages. Once they go through their offensive spells they stand and don't move or attack they just rebuff their defensives.

Very quick shout-out to a solution that doesn’t require overhauling enemy AI: use Tome & Blood’s “level 1 cantrips” to make 1st-level spells usable at will. Then enemy mages (and you) will never lack something useful to cast.

Does that work with non-EE (BGT)?

According to subtledoctor's readme, it hasn't been tested in non-EE game, but it should work.

You can test it and then if it doesn't work, just remove it by uninstalling the component and start a new campaign.
